Wow, that is quite a ways! Your not the last one yet though (I think).

Rockingbearranch,

I love hearing about were people live it is all so different. I only have what I see on tele to go on. Are all male Texans tall and handsome? Do they spend all their time singing to cattle because they are too shy to 'get the gal'? Does anybody actually live in Houston or do they just work there?

Here's the drive to the PO. This is one rancher's property and there's a whole lot more you can't see. Just about all the larger animals from the African wildlfe parks live here. The northern zoos send some of the animals here over winter. I know a chimpanzee expert, a famous snake guy, and a couple of trick shooters. There are rodeo competitions and the little kids ride bucking sheep before the adults ride, all men btw. There are a few handsome cowboys but most are short. The cowboy tradition actually comes up from Mexico and the Native Americans so they aren't too tall usually.

Love the picture. If only I was good at art quilts I'd love to make this. The colours really lend themselves to commercial, painted and hand-dyed fabrics and you have drama in the sky, perspective in the track, human interest in the buildings and a mixture of scale just to add to the interest. You really have the eye. Thanks for posting it.

Ok, I needed to let everybody know that I'm the one holding up the works. Without going into it, suffice it to say there has been some drama.

I had to rework my pattern because I made a bunch of parts to my 9-patch pattern and they were too small. So I added some and figured if they were a little too big I could cut them down and it would be ok. Well, I was wrong. I could have cut them down but nobody would have been happy with them... including me.

So, I reworked it again. I did a paper piecing pattern so it would come out the right size and this is the result. I hope you all like them I have 5 blocks of the original pattern all hand sewn and ten of these new blocks, machine sewn. They're ready to go into Monday's mail. I hope you guys like both blocks.

Thank you everyone for your patience.

I guess now I need Marty to send me her address?
