Winter water

What is everyone's favorite way to keep water from freezing in the coop? Do you use a heated waterer of some sort? This will be our first winter with our girls. Not sure what to expect!
I have a heated waterer from Rural King, using it for the second winter. It has 3 side-mount nipples, a snug-fitting lid with a slight cone (discourages roosting), and a hanger that centers well. IT IS THE BEST waterer I've used in the 9 years I've kept chickens. No dust or poop in the water, from my birds or wild ones. A side benefit is there is no added humidity into my small coop which is 4wx10lx3h.

we bought a 16" round, thermostatically controlled electric base for our 5 gallon waterer. (base is pictured upside down) other pic is our waterer. love it!
