Best wat to keep water thawed in the winter - I have 25 chickens and 3 ducks

Heated dog waterer, or homemade heater for your waterer, with a light bulb.

Without power, what I believe is most popular is those black rubbery large stock watering pans such as at TSC, because they stay flexible when frozen so it's easy to knock the ice out. Where I live, it's just a matter of occasionally having to pour warm water on the ice in the waterer tray, as it will thaw as the day progresses.

I use a bird bath heater. Bullet-proof. Just drop it in the supply bucket and plug it in. Thermostatically controlled, it cycles on and off to keep the water thawed. Allied Precision Aluminum Bird Bath Deicer, 250 Watts. It is available many places.
