Well, another long day here. So far I"ve managed to have to drive to town (30 miles one way) almost everyday. I'm getting real tired from it. Yesterday we were going to Polar to get feed but had to go to Antigo First to get cash cause I can't find my checkbook (someplace I think on the kitchen table lol). Anyway stopped at F & F to get shavings, mineral block etc. Looked at their round pen gates cause I want another gate. Then were going to head to Polar on the way home !!! YIKES it was 5:08PM The Feed Store was already closed !!!!! SH!T !!!!

So now another round trip of 60 Miles today.

Then home to clip Butt Dog. She has to go to Birnamwood clinic by 7:30am tomorrow for her teeth cleaning and get those body tags (sweat glands) removed. That is 50 miles one way !!!

I am tired of driving !!!!!

Well, better get up, get dressed and feed chicks.

TO, were you still interested in a Domonique Rooster? I have 3. I want to keep 1 or 2 (spare)

Oh almost forgot.

I posted an ad on CL. I'm looking for a round pen gate. Either a ride thru or walk thru. My new used roundpen has a ride thru but I would like another gate so we can access it from two sides cause number one I'm lazy and number two it will be to hard to get round it with horses cause of trees, hill etc.

So if anyone hears of one let me know. Mine is a brown priefert, so brown would be nice but beggers can't be choosey unless of course your name in JIM !!!

Don't even think about replying to the ad on CL for chick feed in Antigo !!!! I already made them an offer, waiting to hear !!!! They'll probably call me after I get home and accept it. Then it will bed another road trip !!!!!

Ok, 8:58am, told myself I would get dressed at 9am I'm ahead of the game !!!

Or you Sandi--I hate to see free animals because I am afraid that they arent taken care of then. What am I thinking to say yes to a Dominique roo? Yes, I am still interested...I just love that little hen I got from Elaine...are you coming to the Oct gathering or is that too late? You could always take a road trip down here...that's good for another couple hours!

Yeah, I have a knack for NEEDING everything I see or like !!!!!

That pony is adorable. I agree, advertising for free will get alot of people that have no idea what they are doing although all of my parrots are second hand birds and people paid good money for them ($1200 for one my African greys) the they weren't a forever home. I paid $250 for him and a huge cage !!

I love it how they don't sell animals these days ! They charge a Rehoming fee !!! LOL In my opinion they should pay you for rehoming your animal !!! LOL After all if you are going to provide a needed animal with good care it is going to cost you money !!! LOL Really just kidding so don't need to start an argument about rehoming here !!! LOL

I love haflingers !!!! I need to start playing the lottery so I can get rich !!! Then I would start a donkey rescue, a rooster rescue, guinea haven, Jim rescue etc .....................

I am back...man FT you are really yanking ol' Jim's chain today arent cha? Makes me laugh...I think you oughta watch your back though...he is a sneaky bugger! Just trying to get up the gumption to process my cantaloupe pickles...wonder what they will taste like? My kids love that m elon--me not so much. That is why I had to make it into something cause I had 2 and no one here to eat it! Fortified myself with some tomatillo soup--MMMM. Just a little bit left. It was so nice to be able to have some bread for dipping!
OK--dogs' whining is driving me crazy...time to get them out into the kennel! Then I guess I have to start on something here...have a fantastic day! Terri O

I knew a man that had beautiful percherons (he since passed away). He lived down in Mountain WI. He knew of some Amish that would be working their drafts in the field. They would give birth to their foals, they amish would push the foals to the side of the field until they were done working for the day THEN let the mares tend to them !!!!

He also said he got some horses back from the Amish with big slices in their tonuges for severe bits???

I know to get the horses to "whoa" they will drop them to their knees if they don't "whoa". I'm not condoning (sp) that but certain things can still be done without actually being inhumane.
I just talked to an Amish last month and asked him about that and if he does it. He said yes but he does it on softer grass-ground.

Just like the rest of us there are good and bad. I have heard that there are alot of Amish with Puppy Mill type operations?

I think it would be a good idea if everyday a new person called in. They would get so tired of the calls that MAYBE it woud light a fire under their A$$ !!! Time to pull out the big guns hey ?

That is just sick about the foals. It's not like they don't know the birth coming and hello! Breed to have the baby in the winter or early spring before the ground can be worked. It's not like the Amish don't have barns to foal out in!!! Geez........ Yes you heard right about the puppy mills. They Amish are pretty hard on the dogs.
