Man you boys just have to stick together!

Well my broodie is still sitting on her eggs. So today is day one for me.

Maybe she will stay on them and I'll get chicks!! Otherwise I'm getting the incubator from the mother in-law and starting at the end of March. Anything special I can give her to make it easier for her? My nesting boxes are 12inches off the ground and are pretty small so her and 3 chicks will fit in there but no one else can bother her. I was thinking when she gets further along with the eggs I would move her so they can hatch in a bigger area. DH wasn't happy when I said I wanted to move her into the house. I think he is tired of the baby goat being in the house.

I have some time before I just let him know some else is moving in.

And any hoo the baby goat will be moved out by then. Hopefully. Otherwise maybe I shut everyone else in the barn and give her the coop to herself. I'll have to debate on that one. Have a great day everyone one! It was 36 here!!!

Not much luck for swaps up here, so planning on bringing about 10 standard cochins (8 months old) and 15 silkie youngstock to the Fond Du Lac swap, the MN swap in Carlton is not until the end of April. Just too far away with all this hatching and needing to make room. Will have a black F150 with a green/gold waldoch paint job on the truck.

Bec I keep forgetting to tell you it sounds like your 7yr old has a good head on her shoulders and must be quite the pistol. Talked to a guy at work with a bator and I can borrow it. I'm planning on a hatch around the 1st of May. The girls gave us 8 eggs today. I was surprised after yesterdays haul. The blade for the tractor is just about done and I was looking at a way to lift it. Then it came to me I went out and dug the old blade mounts out the snow bank. I put them on opposite sides and turned them upside down. Their perfect! Just a cross bar to mount the cylinder and a longer hydraulic line. Plus there's tubing in just the right place to add square stock inside of to act as guides to keep the blade from shifting side to side while pushing. I love it when a non plan comes together!

Anyone need anything brought back for florida? I'm flying down on the 29th and driving my moms car back, someone down there has a bator,if it fits it going to ship

Thanks Dr HaHa! What a nice thing to say. I'll tell her that she will be very pleased. She is a pistol and unfortunatly takes after me in so many ways. She will be my headache as I was my mothers. I say sorry all the time now to my mom.

Hello fellow Wisconsinites! Spring is on it's way, we're mud during the day and rock hard mud in the morning.

can't wait till the meet and greet! So I can talk to someone who doesn't think I'm crazy. (having CHICKENS)

My son did a project for our schools science fair about chickens and their eggs. Showing that chickens lay different color eggs. Can't wait to see peoples reactions. his teacher was impressed and asked his class who all knew that they lay other than white eggs. Not may knew.

Anyways, talk later!
