The power company said that they were working on the line when a transfromer split. They had to reroute the whole system.

Babylady4, It was a good thing I DIDN"T try going to my mom's in West Bloomfield. They were out too! And that's 13 miles from me! So part of Fremont MUST have beeen out too! I don't know what I would have done if that friend hadn't said I could go to her house. Good friend still. She wasn't even home. She told me to use her hidden key. I have watched her house in the past while they have gone away.

Different colored eggs??? Really???

Actually, I didn't know that until a couple of years ago, and I am well north of 40 years. Welcome, Raimnel.

I've come down with a late winter cold so I've been dragging my a** around, but the sun is so high in the sky now and so warm when you get out of the breeze...spring is coming and I couldn't be happier, although like many here I live on a farm and everything turns to mud, but right now mud trumps snow.

I've got six australorps coming in first week of April, and I've got a source for black copper marans, but I'm not sure about the quality of the BCMs...since I'm new to the chicken gig, what sort of questions would you ask this breeder to determine the quality? Since I'm only gonna have 8-10 birds, I want them to be good representations of the breed, with nice dark eggs. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Afternoon....ooops sorry about the typo. Prolly should of been $14.97...almost the same, kinda.

BBCB in regards to the BCM. Since they haven't been excepted by the APA yet they aren't in the standard of perfection....so I would ask questions like egg color....where is their stock from , are they trying to improve the breed...are they members of the APA? How many do they have, how long have they been working with them? That's some starters...maybe someone else can add a question or two.

Took our taxes in today to our advisor.....glad that's over. Hope I get a few bucks back.

I bet this monitor is going to puke!

Bigz too bad were not closer I've got an extra moniter you could have it's takin up space. Someone gave me a flat screen. If I hadn't been at work I woulda gave ya hard time about the cost too. See there's another reason I should retire! I could give more people crap.

Got the bator today it doesn't look like much but he says it works very well. He says manual turning twice a day. I'll have to read up on it, thought it was a lot more often than that. Just a simple one I guess but they work too! I always pack the first snowfall down in the driveway to keep the gravel there but it's peakin through in spots. Big ol puddle in front of the coop doors of course but the run is dry due to my dumping the cleaner straw for the clean in there. Glad I did it, it was a mud hole last summer when it rained. Have a good evening!

Well Bigzio--guess we all know what you will be spending your refund on! Seriously though, you could try your local Freecycle. There is a guy around here that takes all computer parts and stuff and builds new out of them. Also there are TONS at St. Vinnies if you dont want to have brand new.
All of my clients were trying their best to ruin my day today with their whiney-ness! (is that a word?) The sun made me very happy but I was so warn out by the time I got home I had to take a nap! Thursdays are so hard because I have Wednesdays off and always work too hard around the farm then. Definitely a case of work being easier that being at home! Better watch out Dr. H! You might wear yourself out with retirement!
Gotta cook some supper for these people...good night! Terri O

TerriO I always manage to wear myself out, although I have a closer relationship with my recliner these past years. I like staying busy. Not going to be a problem doing so. Early to bed, early to rise makes you go to bed early. Viscious circle! 9/9 today. What good girls!

oh man if i had known you need a screen.. just got rid of 3 .. and one was a nice 21 in screen...
check your local craigs list you may even want to place and
add if you want the old big ones other wise the new flats are realy nice
does take a few days to get used to all the room you have on your desk from the missing lg screen lol

glad to hear you got your bator heated ok ... hope all the babies will be ok

and welcome to all the newbies on the boards nice to see more cheesehead on here lol

Terri O, My mom wanted me to tell you (since I never mentioned it) if you do end up taking your horse there, she has a shelter in either field that she keeps her horses. And if you would like to come up early, that would be fine too. She would show you around and the way to the park and stuff.

Much calmer day here. No big feascos today. 7 more days for the broody hen's one egg. I candled it for my oldest today and he thought that was awesome.
