yes, the one we had last winter was a girl and no I am okay with the fact that she went to live at our friends place. My friend is figuring she is on the older end of things, she did lay a few eggs this year but their peacock has shown no interest in her.

we did find a place that has either a black shoulder girl or a cameo girl but the kids weren't excited about either of those, they are asking that we try and find a India Blue girl.... I guess time will tell

DH's truck is fixed and running, the fuel pump went out on it- of course now days this pump is in the fuel tank so the seat belt thing wouldn't have help!!!

back to paperwork, have to try and get things caught up for one of our landlords.

OK, I am looking for an India Blue hen also.. but I am at the point where I am not fussy anymore.

are those peahens still available, and how much $$$$ do they want for them ? how old are they?? they can live 20 years ???.,, I was told.. I would prefer at least 2 year old..

.....jiminwisc..........

here is the website: sunrisehaven.homestead.com I think they are chicks.

my friend indacted that we might be able to find some at the fall swaps, not sure when any are coming up.

there is a swap coming up on Sept 10 at Dale Carlson's in Kellner.. that is all I know about it.. It is not publicised,, sort of word of mouth..

I think Weyauwega is having a swap this fall.. ??

....jiminwisc....

I did a little search and found some info on the Carlson swap.

it seems that he is a member of BYC..

there is a form you can print out, concerning the swap..
I could not make a copy with my msn set-up, though..

type in WWW.DaleCarlson,Kellner,Wisc..

Afternoon all,

Jim if it makes you feel better our Gravely Zturn won't start. DH ET ran it out of gas and now !!!
idunno.gif
He also blew out the starter on the tractor. He also ran that out of gas and with it being gravity fed and parked on a hill it didn't want to start. I think I already told that story. I yelled at him to stop cranking it for so long !!! Next day he said I jinzed (sp) it and that is why it broke.

Well anyway, delivered eggs to Rhinelander today. Made $29.50. They happended to carry SPIKE there so I bought that, some celery seed, bay leaves and SPIKE Vetgit and spent $13.
So the rest paid for the gas to get there !!!! Somehow this chicken math doesn't work in my favor. Then as long as we are in town went to Aldis and spent another $95. Ya have to stock up when you go to town you know.
Now we have to go pick up 1000 lbs of chicken food. 200 for others. That will only last a few weeks.

Glad they like all the spare apples

Then of course as long as we are close to Antigo have to hit Farm & Fleet for a few things and of course Menards !!!!

But at least now I have the ingredients for the zuchinni soup !!

Ooops, someones here gotta go !!

Quick question: Does anyone use dog kennel panels for roofing on a run? If so, does it need extra support for winter snows? And if the roofing kennel panels do need extra support, what do you suggest? I've been trying to do some research on BYC for it but as we all know it's SOOOO easy to get sidetracked and spend hours reading -- and I just don't have the time. I've already spent too much time on this run as it is! If you know the answer, I'd appreciate your suggestions. (Just FYI, I am consolidating two kennels into 1 to make a bigger run. I'll end up with two extra panels that I want to use for roofing....)

Thanks in advance.
Elaine

P.S. I'm posting to our WI group since you'll have the quickest answer for our area (hopefully) and then I won't have to read all the non-relevant answers for warmer zones....

Don't even kid like that, Bigz! Of course it will not be your last meal. Heck, with the meals you eat on a daily basis, your sheer desire for the next one should keep you going to at least 100.

DH & I hope your surgery goes smoothly and your recovery is speedy! Wishing you all the best as always!
