Monday evening all... this is SIS at the keyboard...
First off FT On the frozen apple pies... I use tin pie plates(only for freezing them) and make my regular apple pie to the size of the plate ...then I take plastic wrap and wrap it twice and then wrap with tin foil and make as air tight as I can and then put in a freezer bag . Then when I want to bake one I take it out and tip it over and it simply falls out and then I put in in a glass pie plate and slice the holes in the top doctor it up with milk and sugar i just bake it the usual 15 min. at 450 then 350 till done. turns out like fresh every time! And my kitchen is small... a galley kitchen...no room!
Dr H....You have to freeze the pies first, then bake them when you take them out of the freezer. They taste like they were fresh made then. I've been doing them like that for over 35 years!
TO..I have a puter of my own(laptop) but I won't intrude on Brent. I'm getting stuff from him now lol...so the sooner he can read and post the better. By the way , beautiful picture. How did the salsa turn out?
CC.. I read all the posts to Brent and then he tells me what to type, except for the recipies. Lucky call onthe game , we needed those 4 turnovers for sure. and it sounds like Collins is out for the season we hope he has a full recovery. Health is more important then a game, Like everything else.
Susie J...Most pullets will lay through their first year without addional lighting. It's a natural thing. The second year of lay requires additional lighting, forcing the lay which isn't natural and stressful. Due to the fact that they have been laying already for a year and I think it's in the hens best interest to take a break from laying during winter to give their body a chance to rejuvinate and start fresh in the spring. That's MY opinion, it works well here. I hate crabby hens!
So Brent is done..be safe. later
