dood day, we started "culling" at noon and were done by 2PM.
we did 11 americauna roosters, 1 americauna hen, (mistaken identity), 1 large over the hill white rock hen.. and 2 large RP Tom (Jake) turkeys..

One of the roosters was so small that Annie started laughing when I put it on her table.. well, at least it was a little bigger than a quail..

I was just on the last turkey when my knife slipped.. Good thing I had a bone in my finger, or it would be off.. LOL

TerriO, I hear you about these fllies.. I tried to take a break upstairs, but they just don't leave a guy alone.. I hate it when they land on you and do that buzz thing.. they do this only in the fall.. I think they realize that winter is coming and this is their last chance to really Pi$$ you off..

ETA: I forgot to mention; the guinea lady (Marlene) called me yesterday,,...She finally realized that she has 3 RP turkeys mixed in with her guineas.. LOL at first she wanted to bring them back, but then she decided to raise them ..

FT, (frozen) I didn't make the connection about the TP and flies.. BTW,, YUKK !!!!

Is there a truck topper place down in Wausau ? Need to find a maroon topper for our '02 Chevy Silverado, standard size box. 6.5'
The one I was thinking of getting had the back window replaced with plexiglass. Don't want that.

Then he emails me back and has a real nice maroon one for $500 !!! Doesn'the understand I buy 2000 lbs of chicken food a month with that money !!!

I'd like to find one this week so I can bring the truck down to Racine with he chickens and who knows come home with what !!! Well actually I need to move some things back up here and get that frickin house up for sale down there. Just kinda hard to do with him up here and me down there and all these animals. I'm already gettign seperation anxiety having to leave them all.

Greetings all! Been so busy here I haven't had a chance to get on for... 35 pages! LOL, you are a gabby bunch! Working a bunch of 9.5 to 11 hour shifts these days as my client has gone to 24 hr care now. This week m-f is solid, but I've managed to keep my weekends free...speaking of which..

HAVE WE DECIDED ANYTHING ON THE GET TOGETHER OR DID I MISS IT?????

Had to babysit daughters kids Friday and Saturday and surprisingly the twins were great! Didn't expect that! Also got a chance to shoot a few photos which was nice, since I haven't had time for that lately either.

Do hope everyone is well and the array of critters are all doing well. If I have time later I'll try to get back and get caught up on everything, but have to drag the dog out for a walk now.

Ran into the lady who has the new calves up the road, they are Scottish Highland something or others... ADORABLE.... see

ok so this a.m. I told my mom that we're not coming over today cause we have alot of things to wash (clothes, dishes stupid electric company) but they can feel free to come over to our house for supper. And you know what I got? a nose wrinkle! she wrinkled her nose at me cause she didn't want to come over to MY house. I said "Fine stay home, see if I care!" guess what? their NOT here yet!

Oh well more food for us. I made chicken (imagine that) looks like this week we'll also be having chicken, chicken tacos, chicken chicken chicken! lol we dont usally get to their house till 5 mins to 5 either, but thats cause I got clothes to wash and stuff. But their excuse, well the wrinkled nose explains it. well gotta get the potatoes on. later

yes I came on just to complain. lol

Evening! Cooking a pork roast on the grill and ginger and garlic yam casserole. MMM--I cant wait. All my recipe sites are sending "getting ready for T-day" type recipes so I figured I should try some of them...might be having to bring a plate of food for myself...I think I will go down and pick some Brussels sprouts too.

Interesting afternoon here...dd25s BF was sitting in his car parked across the top of our driveway talking to DD when a truck with a trailer sideswiped him! It didnt even stop so BF starts his car and goes after the guy blowing his horn and motioning for him to stop. He got in front of him on the next road and slowed down to get him to stop. The guy rammed his car THREE TIMES! BF asked him What he was doing and the guy said he didnt hit his car! So the cops came and took all the info...GEEZ--who hits somebody and takes off! He says it was a company type truck with a logo....he got the license plate pretty good...I sure hope they catch the guy.

I remembered in the drive up to Ashland that someone asked if my coop was a pallet coop, I tried to find it but couldnt. So who every it was no its an old coop we had to quickly repair because we had chickens already. In the spring coop will be added onto and the run will be tripled! Im so excided!!!! Also I got the go ahead to get geese in the spring. So we will be getting pigs, ducks, turkeys, meat birds and some more egg layers.

OMG !!! Betcha the guy was drunk !!!

Anyway, the neighbor stopped by. She loaned some bunnies to the Lanona Camp 5 for the summer, kind of a petting type place. Well she is getting the bunnies back so if anyone would like some bunnies, they are free. All different colors and are about a medium size !! If she doesn't find homes they are going to be eaten !!

The Camp also ordered one of those Mc Mury specials. All sorts of mixed up purebred chickens, tophats, feather legs etc. She is going to be getting those from them as well in exchange for some of the bunnies. I will find out what they are and if anyone is interested in them as well.

Still trying to find a topper for the truck so I can bring the chickens down without them going in the back seat !!! LOL

Let e know asap about bunnies etc.
As soon as I find out , maybe tomorrow I will let you all know what she has. She has about 17 bunnies to rehome I guess.

Jim let me know how many extra ameracauna hens you have ok.
