OK, no big whoop de doo.. I am not dead.. just took a little time off to think..
In the future, I am not going to use "LOL" .. If anybody cannot figure out that I am teasing, that will be their problem.. I do not take criticism very well.. however I can take ribbing as well as dish it out..

If you are in doubt if I am teasing, or being mean, then I am teasing.. believe me, if I am going to be mean, there will be NO doubt..

I see a lot of things I read that strike me on the funny bone.. sometimes I comment, sometimes I do not..
If you do not want me to comment, I suggest you proof read your replies before you hit send..

I will not argue or get into a pi$$ing contest here .. If anybody picks a fight, I am gone..

I have been lurking,, so I really didn't miss anything..
I did think of some comments, but I will let those slide and go on from here.. except, the dog pills.. what the heII ?? you will be like my Mom soon and be putting your reading glasses in the refrigerator.. the funny thing is, most of us have done, or will be doing things like that .. we call that a brain burp..

and one more.. Brent, I would check to see if black walnut shavings will be good for the garden or around your apple trees. My black walnut trees killed an oak tree, a butternut tree many apple trees and my whole asparagus bed. so far my two cherry trees don't seem to be affected.. I don't know if the shavings will have any affect ???

I also had a goose with 14 eggs who made a nest out of walnut leaves and twigs .. somebody told me that she would not hatch any of those eggs.. they were right.. I don't know if the walnut leaves had anything to do with it for sure..

CC) I have a standard pear tree now. I hate it! Huge, hard to prune, has scab so a lot of fruit is worthless and even if it fruits good, I can't reach 75% of it!

I am going to do dwarfs, been researching rootstocks that do well in our area. Wondering why you are sad you didn't get a standard over a dwarf? Thanks for the pear suggestion, I will probably be putting 2 pear trees in the orchard. Heck, I have enough room. Even with 8 apple trees, 8 cherry trees, 2 apricot, 2 pear, 2 peach, 2 fig, 2 mulberry, 2 almond...I still have like..6 trees to fill. And really those cherries I can put tighter together than I have the spacing set for. And I don't need 8 apple trees!! Well, I got all winter and all of next year to figure this out. I guess I got awhile to think. I also found a groundcover cranberry! Maybe I can plant that in my orchard. Maybe thats taking it too far. Hrmm...

TO) Jealous of your venzun! Hubby is getting antsy to get out there and hunt. The ruts a going, those deer are acting crazy! Now is his best time to get one...

Cind, I'm sorry, but I haven't laughed so darn hard in a long time!

Thankfully I wasn't drinking anything! I was in tears after reading about you taking the dog's pills. My cats were just staring at me like "o-k, she's finally lost it," and then walked away like they didn't even know me. I think one of them is even hiding under the covers in my bed.

TO, you didn't help the sitch either with your "lifting your leg to pee" comment!

Raiq, I wish I would have gotten a standard so I would get more fruit, but then I would have had to wait longer for it to mature. In any case, I really love the ambrosia pears. Good quality, good keepers and excellent taste. I would go with a lot of apple trees if I were you. Just get different varieties that ripen at different times & are differing levels of sweetness. I have 5 currently, and would like a few more. Apples are so versatile, and you can make your own ACV with some of the not so good ones. JMHO.

Tiki, glad the birds are ok, & I agree with FT. Sounds like an inside job. How sad.
FT, sorry, but I don't think Layena is a good chicken feed. I had my girls on it & they quit laying after having a bout of soft shelled eggs. As soon as I switched feed, they started laying again, with perfect shells. I do have some of those bags I can save for you, though (tarp-like). I don't know if I'll be going up north any more this year, though.

Hello everyone! I've been trying to log on for a week now and just couldn't get the system to accept my login. I ended up asking admin to reset it (which they did twice!) and this last one finally took, thank goodness! I was getting pretty aggravated with it!

Anyhow, I have been reading daily -- thanks to those who posted pictures! I always enjoy looking at the pictures and reading everyone's stories. Glad to hear those that went to the So. Bash had a good time! Sorry I couldn't make it but I had booked that weekend.... Not much new here - trying to get motivated to do some yard cleanup. Must get outside soon to enjoy the sunshine. Garden is pretty much picked except for my swiss chard & digging up a pot of potatoes. I grew some nice heads of celery and I dehydrated 2 of them so I'll have it when I need it for soups & stuffing, etc., boy does that shrink when dehydrated!

I finally got my garlic planted (yippee!!) so I'm glad for that. My body still feels it! Yow!

Can't wait for next year's garlic! My friend (who's a master gardener) and I did a barter where I gave her some aged ash wood for garlic. Her garlic is HUGE don't know if you can tell that from the picture or not! She said she moves it around her yard every year and adds manure every year. Fingers crossed it'll do well in the new area I planted. It was pretty funny, I had 5 chickens and 4 ducks surrounding me while I was planting and fighting over the worms I threw their way. I got a kick out of them being so close and so chatty.

Oh, before I forget, for those of you who want to watch the tv show Hoarders but don't have cable, a lot of the programs you can find online and watch on your computer if you're so inclined. (That's true for a lot of tv shows.) Also, a lot of libraries have Hoarders, season 1 on DVD - if your's doesn't, you might want to see about getting it on an interlibrary loan. I do watch Hoarders on occasion but find it extremely sad & troubling at times. I'd rather watch programs like Clean Sweep, etc., where the problems are not as extreme and heart breaking.

Yes it is pretty sad that some have it so bad that they can't throw out garbage. Things can understand, like you might be able to use this for something one day but candy wrappers, burger wrapers etc..... well, it's just sad.
Everybody as some "Issue" to deal with, unfortunately Hoarders "Issue" is just a very obvious one.

Especially sad when alot of animals are concerned and not taken care of.
Speaking of animals, DH didn't have time to do his morning chores, feed and water horses, open chicken coops, feed and water. Left me a wonderful message on my voicemail. So now that I have his chores done I can start my own, then do his all over again (which are the new chores added on to my own when he started working) That on top of cooking supper !!!!

When I was at Menards yesterday I was looking at the kitchen sink faucets. I wanted to add another faucet on our sink to hook up the portable dishwasher. Well they don't make one without that long base.
We have a very nice one that has the pull out right on the faucet and the sprayer, but you can't attach the dishwasher to it.

So it looks like we are going to have to buy just a plain old sink faucet again. I can't stand my kitchen sink.
If anyone saw it they would think I was a dish hoarder !!! LOL

Ps Elain, do you now what kind of garlic that is that you just planted? I want to get some but don't know what kind to get.

The lop bunny was me FT... thanks for thinking of me. Trying to help my boss out because his daughters want one for Xmas.

Ok broody help again... 3 weeks now my 6 month old who recently started laying is sitting on the nest, just getting up for food and water and growling when i get near her. (although I take eggs she sits on every day from her with no issue) Had her in a bunny cage with partial wire bottom for a week, Tried giving her baby asprin on eggs a few times, not real interested... she paced alot in wire cage so finally put her back in with others in coop and she seemed fine for a few hours but today she is back in the nest box, growling.... do put her back in bunny cage and if so for how long? Do I find some fertile eggs and hope she keeps little ones warm enough?
any thoughts?
