Sorry to get a good laugh at your expense, but they way you told it was just hilarious! I can totally picture the scene: one turkey vs. two hunters, one screaming, one laughing.

Babies all over the place...where are all the pictures, people?!?!?!?

Oh, BTW, I found a little story about people trying to legalize chickens in Eau Claire. Anyone here from that area? https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=307628

Looks like I can't talk anyone here into getting up at 5 AM, so I might just head up myself. Mom is mulling it over but the girls are resolute. Hmmm. Well, I know where folks are meeting up, so perhaps if things work out I'll see you all there. If not, enjoy!!!!

Well-I'll be wearing my black jacket with purple inside and a white zipper. I say that because the purple sticks out when I wear it and I don't zip it up all the way. We'll see if anyone finds me.

Oh you guys are too funny! I would love to come and meet y'all tomorrow but I have decided that I will tell DH he has to fix the hydraulics on the skid loader so I can get the barn pushed out next week...or maybe Sunday! we will see! He is very possessive of that machine!
Just got back form a horse ride and made myself some scrambled eggs with cheese (tomato basil cheddar) and some fresh tomatoes--delish!!! (thanks girls!) I will see how this turns out...I am thinking I am developing an egg allergy!!! OH NO!
OK--time for me to head to bed...I am planning a bunch to do tomorrow--My neighbor said he would give me some pigeons...gotta revamp the top of the coop! I am excited! Terrio

(PS) Stopped at the neighbor's and invited them to BYC and out Meet and Greet...hope they come on! There is one more down in Milford that I will go down and see..I never see any people-just chickens but they have the most adorable coop!

Good Evening to all!
I hope all you folks going to Fondy have a great time! Yep when it comes to meets, the early bird gets the worm...

It's amazing how everyone is leaving when you're coming, if you happen to oversleep.

BigZ, those bator windows are just about raining with all the moisture in there, and the humidity is at 74%!! Pictures are going to have to wait until they are all out I am afraid....

Up to 4 chicks now; no button quail yet....... LOTS of pips so I am hoping to wake up to a very noisy bator tomorrow!!!

So chick totals are
2 Chipmunk babies
3 BO mutt babies

The combo BO's are fathered by am unknown banty cross roo so the chicks are pretty cool colors. We have a buff with some silver, a silver with some white and the last one to hatch looks black but it is still wet and hard to distinguish......

Chipmunk's babies should be straight EE's with a white splash(?) EE dad. The first one was a light stripe the second looks just like her mom; brown with the black and white stripes.

All are super cute!!!

Wish I could go to the Fondy swap but I guess I will just have to wait to see if anybody comes to the one at the Waupaca Fairgrounds (it is 3 blocks from my house....). I have concert tickets to buy tomorrow!!!!!!

Ok I'll be at the Fondy swap and I say we meet at the snack bar at 8. I'll be there with my daughter and she will be wearing a blace sweatshirt with yellow writing and I will be wearing a lavandar sweatshirt. Both of us have brown hair. Hopefully someone will pick us out and say hi! Looking forward to tomorrow. Today I candled and I have babies growing!!! So happy that I gave momma some sunflower seeds in her nesting box. She happily ate them up. I can't wait till they hatch! Congrats to everyone that has new babies! Post pics soon. Well hopefully I will get to meet a couple of you guys tomorrow! It's off to bed for me.

Good Morning! Up way too early again. But will get in a nap later. Wish I was closer I'd go to the Fondy thing. Bigz My get away is in the town of Bradley. I can hear the traffic from hwy 8 about half a mile south of me. And I'm about 4 miles west of 39-51. An hour and 45 min door step to door step. Unless we take the scenic route, then 2 hours. I bought the property from my aunt and uncle who bought it for $1 in the early 60's. My uncle built 2 cabins just down the road in exchange for the land. Ah the barter system. I can chuck a rock and hit the Tomahawk river. Well I used to be able to. And the noise from the lake Nokomis dam puts you to sleep at night. I have 2 old campers up there one is a 16ft 1962 Mallard that's dry, clean, warm, and air conditioned. And the other is a 25 ft with running water and a shower. So if you and Suzie were to say just happen to drop by and have too much fun around the fire pit we could put you up for the night, no problem. The place is nestled in amonst mature white pines and assorted other types of trees. I put the campers as far back away from the road as I could and people have said I didn't even know you were here. There's a run down trailer there that is on my list for demolition. I already tore one apart and got rid of it. They were built in the 40's not a staple in them all nails and screws their a bear to tear apart. Fishing can be tough or nonstop action at times but you can usually at least catch northerns. Everything in there is fat, good forage base. Perch run about the middle of April, then slab crappies and walleyes, smallies, largemouth, northerns, and muskies on the next cast.

People have said why don't you build a cabin? I tell them that then I have to pay taxes on it and have to worry about it. With having just the campers on it the taxes are low and if something were to happen to them I don't have a lot invested. They also say build a house and move there if you like it so much up there. I tell them then I'd have to get another place for a get away. I like it just the way it is. The 2 cabins that my uncle built are currently on the chopping block for back taxes. The sheriff wants $38,000 for them fair market is $62,000. It's just killing me. I've always wanted them but it's too late in the game now. Had it happened 10 years ago I wouldn't be retiring now. Well that's the basic story sorry to be so long winded but I do love it up there. The air and the stars are so much better. Have a problem to fix right away this morning. When I got home I could smell fuel oil. Found that the sump pump hose was laying on top of the oil line and the vibration wore a hole in it. Luckily the tank has a shut off valve. Fun fun fun! Have a good one!
