Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I wasn't planning on dumping him anywhere. If I was going to rehome I would be clear and up front that he needs extensive care before he can be released with other animals. The shelters around here require a $75 surrender fee, which is why I'm asking for help. I can't even afford that. If I don't find work by Christmas everyone has to go--I can't reasonably keep any more of my pets.

Also--Lollipop is a boy. All hail naming powers of a four year old.

Thanks, Terri.

Debbers,
Just an FYI, Hens and Roos is in Cottage Grove, KingDr38 is in Columbus, KristiP is in New Glarus, Elaine is in Monona and I am just south of Oregon. So if you need something, let us know!!

Well Rey (KingDr) has his winter coop done and only wants his two young redstar/cinniman queen pullets back of 4 hens..
And wouldn't you know it, one of the silkies has gone broody... with one egg, so I stuffed three other eggs under her.

I am going to have to open up some more plastic on the stalls, I think I have it TOO closed in.
I don't heat the stalls but have to give water twice a day because we don't have access to electricity to heat the waterers.

Well I gots to go,
be on more, I promise!

I am sorry if you thought that I thought you were going to dump him...I certainly do not! You seem like a much more responsible person than that!

Arent there ANY sliding scale vets near you? How good are you at begging? I still think the shelter would do it for you if you explained the situation...

Just came in for a short break...I got a bit wet spraying a turkey out of the tree...he had been up there all day yesterday! Now he is down. Only to go back up again tonight, this time I hope he remembers how to get down. It is the same one that I posted the pic of...but I guess he forgot how to come down?
I think I might participate in the New years hatch contest with quail eggs...not sure yet.
I wonder where Lori went? She needs to come and help me build...maybe I better get to that...enjoy the game everyone! Terri O

Packer Sunday All....I can feel your excitment all the way up North TO....Go Pack Go! I hope we can pick Eli off a time or two today and also sack him a few times. I just love it when he has to pout....he does it so well!

Good Luck with your kitty Kee. We have one male cat that is on meds all the time for blatter problems. Costly and a pain to deliver them every day.

I need to get the tarps on the one pen yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Time for a pregame beverage to get pumped for another win!

I have to much crap to do. Christmas cards are done and I'm finally finished with the 2 christmas stocking I had to make (my last 2 kids) oops lol now on to other things. I got the tree up yesterday with the help of my cousin and the kids put the ornaments on. I was thinking about rearranging them but heck, why bother it looks good enough for me lol if someone says something I'll tell them to do all I do and see what YOUR tree looks like

He does, doesn't he? I can't wait to see the look on his face when Matthews or one of the really big boys lands on him.

Debber! Glad you could join us.

TO, with the number of birds you have, I wouldn't bother heating your coops either. With all that body heat, it's prolly warmer in your coop than it is in your house.
gig.gif
And do ya know what is worse than mud? FROZEN mud, TO! So if I were you, I'd take a lesson out of Deb's book & dress in numerous layers to the point of resembling the Michelin man so the next time you fall on your keester (or any other part of your anatomy), you will at least have a soft landing.
lau.gif
Or maybe you could get creative like FT & make yourself some nice fluffy down pants with lots of stuffing in the rear.

Hope your chin heals up fast. That can't feel good.

Kee, that is heartbreaking how sick that poor cat is. Maybe try calling the WI humane society & tell them the situation. See if they have any suggestions/recommendations for you. You could maybe try HAWS in Waukesha too. Even if they can't help you, maybe they know someone who can.

I think I'll take a chapter out of Bigz's book & indulge in a pregame whistle wetter. Enjoy the game, all, and Go Pack Go!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi All!
I read to catch up and now I can't remember all that I wanted to say! Spent the better part of the day at my CCW permit safety class. It was fun and very informative.
Got home and the dogs were all happy to see us and then one on the little squablers had words with another little squabler. Then right after that, my Aussie Ely was limping! He was not even in the same zip code of the little ones! What the Heck! Poor Nubbzie! If he is still limping tomorrow, we'll go see the vet.

Welcome Debber and all the other newbbies!

Kee-Sorry about your kitty. What if you took him in as a "stray" you found? Would they still charge an intake fee? Not the best option or honest I know, but I was just wondering....

Well, off to dinner and I need to turn the lights off in the coop!
