Good evening! We just got back from dinner at Mariachi's...really good Mexican restaurant in LM. OK the ONLY good one!

Got my coop done tonight! I only had to put 2.5 hours into it and that is including putting the chickens in! I coaxed them up to their new roost and turned out the light! Tomorrow I will put the Buckies in there. I think they will be really happy to be able to go outside. I am hoping that they will get along with the Blue Ams OK. I think they look kind of bedraggled cause the chickens they are with are more aggressive than them and they end up roosting on the ground even though there is plenty of roosting space for all! Plus if they can get outside it will help their mood some!

LinnB I am definitely closer to you than BigZ is and I will be hatching too. Or you could get some eggs and do it yourselves...that would be a fun project! Either way I am sure one of us can help you! It is cool that you have one interested in the birds!

I am going to go and check out tose picks that BigZ posted and then putting some beans on to soak...that bean soup sounds like exactly what we need to eat tomorrow night! Thanks for the recipe!

Just looked up my receipt for my layer and chick custom mix and I'm paying just under $.20 a lb. And it has added calcium and vitamins. It doesn't have the flax but it is a high protein feed.
I have looked into mixing my own but by the time you add what you need to make it balanced it will really bring up the cost.
If you really want to stay away from comercial mixes, contact your local feed mill and ask them for a quote on a custom mix, think you will be surprised at how much you can save. If you don't like their prices, shop around.
My feed mill has about 4 different recipes for me !! If I want to save more I get a lower protein that time etc. My latest recipe uses showmaster sheen in the mix, it is similar to Calf Manna which is high protein.

Jim, that's a mild word in her vocabulary !!!!! She's called people worse !!! I think that is the first time she's called me a name directly !!!! I'm sure I've been called plenty in her mind !!!!
She never married or had children. I've always been close to her but of course got closer after my parents were murdered (she is my Dad's sister) but she isn't my Mom and my sister and I have to keep reminding ourselves that !!! Auntie has a heart of gold underneath it all (at least we always thought so) but tell her that you love her and she thinks you "Want something" !!! She is not the I love you warm fuzzy kind so if yelling makes her feel better, Oh Well !!!
You should have heard her a few years ago when she was in the hospital after having a stroke. She had a bout with hospital psycosis (sp) and was telling everyone to call the cops because they were holding her hostage !!
EVERYBODY in the family had a given name then because they didn't help her escape !! lol That sure was fun !! She also said some things that she obviously was holding in for a long time !!! Man oh Man what next.

Well, I did it again and it's all BYC Cheeseheads fault !!! LOL I was feeding the horses and was delivering them their second Atv full of hay and my ATV started sliding sidways down the hill. I was trying to get as close to the fence as I could. As I slid into the fence I was thinking "Oh wait til I tell all my friends on Cheeseheads about this slippery snow" !! So need I say more, I wasn't concentrating on my driving and tried backing up and just slid further into the fence. SH!T !!!!

So there happened to be a lawn chair out their a few feet away I decided to take a break, sit in the chair and watch the horses eat then called my sister to discuss Auntie !! Then I had to climb the hill, slip sliding away !!!!
Few words such as "Ah Duck" ! (edited) while I ventured thru the winter wonderland !!! Made it to the basement door and Mr Piggy greated me !!!
He tried to follow me down the road today to the mailbox. He managed to go halfway down past our 20 acre hay field then turned around (Our mail box is 1/4 mile down the road) When I got back up to the spot he had turned around at he heard the ATV and ran out to greet me and Butt Dog. Nice Piggy !!!
Learned today that two goats will fit inside the camper !! Let the goats out for a bit and Scout and Lucky Joe decided to check out camper #3. I was wondering what all the ruckus was all about then out pop two goats !!!
Guess I won't have to ask them twice if they want to go camping hey ???? LOL

Can't wait to make that soup, sound delish !!! What brand of soup base do you use? Never heard of ham soup base. What kind of beans? I have tons of beans here. Black beans and mixed beans. Ok Now I'm hungry.
TO what did they have at the Mexican Resturant that you can safely eat ? Did you know that the Red Robin Resturant has a gluten free menu?

Jim, shoot me picture of your pied Peacock, I'll post it. I'd like to see what she looks like. Did you read my post that I posted a couple of weeks ago that said my peahens are blackshoulder hens? I would have never guessed. The woman I got them from said they were pied or white guess she couldn't make up her mind. Btw does your Mom ever call you names ????? Would love to hear what if any? Or can't you say ? I think my aunt would get a kick out of you as well !!!! Two peas in a pod !!!

Just kidding about that. But really, in her day she was quite the character. She would have loved seeing all of your projects just like I do. Maybe her and I are the two peas ???? Sh!t !!!!

Ok, now that I've rattled on and on and on and on !!!!

I'll let you all go for now. Oh and btw Bigz or anyone else who cares, I called the meat market where our deer are and they don't save the talo but will give me some beef in January or so. Then he told me that our deer might be ready this week ????? At first I thought it was at least 8 weeks. Cool. Now I just need to find some money to have sausage made and make room in the freezer !!!

I'll meet Jim and CC on Bigz's front lawn !!! I'll bring the Ice Cream again !!!

So as long as we are planning Bigzios bash why don't we have it at the same place ??? Little earlier so the weather won't be so hot !!! Remember guys how hot it was ???? Us cool weather people would prefer early June

Maybe we'll even bring one of our campers, chickens and all, goats too if they're onboard !!!

Seriously, sure hope we can get together again !! Sure was fun !! Loved the white elephant !! Oh and btw our family is not going to draw names for the adults this christmas (first time) but instead we are going to do the white elephant. I suggested that the gift we bring be MADE IN USA !!!! Sister loved that idea ! Will make shopping a bit more difficult !!! A Challenge !
