Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Nope--the parakeet is bright yellow. I looked at Craig's List...I think I will post a found cause my friend will never do that...we just played a game of Bubble Talk...definitely more fun with more players!
Going to CL now--Terri O

Evening-
My last Aracana died last week, so I am going to be looking for a couple young hens or hatching eggs if anyone else has some more. I am over north of LaCrosse, but will hopefully be getting to Green Bay for ice fishing a couple of times in the next couple of months, so I will be driving across the state, give me a heads up if anyone has any and I could pick up.

Finally started working on the stairwell again, about 4 years ago hung the drywall and mudded a couple of time, but go sick of working on all the corners. Put primer on today and I am going to paint tomorrow- yeah

That was great story about Shak n Bake, Chicken helper

Tatters, here are a few links to the typical fencing used for poultry runs. You could use the 2x4" welded wire for all of the run's fence, but on the bottom half (and buried into the ground), you should use either hardware cloth or the 1x1" cage wire. The only thing poultry wire is good for is for keeping your chickens out of an area, but is completely useless at keeping anything away from your chickens, and since you seem to have some large preds, I'd go with a strong fencing wire. And these links are just from TSC. Menards also carries wire fencing that is usually a little more reasonably priced.

I forgot to look on that aerial view of your place. Do you have a water source nearby like a river or creek? You should also look into if you have weasels in your area. They are devastating to a flock. It doesn't hurt to lay some hardware cloth flat on the ground up against the fence either on the inside or outside of the fence to further deter preds from digging under. Some of them can climb fencing too.

Hi all!

Angie... Cute gifts!

DrH.... You should keep the bator by the computer so you can give us a report every time you check on them

what! Oh well, I have other places to sell to and I can always put up a sign.

Ruddy the dog is back on probation! Today he got a mouth full of Cochin feathers
somad.gif
first time he actually tried grabbing a chicken. I'm not happy!

Well, got a few things to do then bed (I hope). Night all!

Thanks CC. I have a water source alright...my land has thousands of natural springs. I have unlimited water sources everywhere

Thank you for the links, I'll look into them. As to weasels, there has not been any sightings of those little buzz saws with teeth since I have started living here (since '91). What the heck is hardware cloth? I would think anything with teeth could gnaw right through that.

Good Morning Everyone! Ya Bigz forgot about the AFC/NFC sooo Pack-NE. Cind BAD Naughty Ruddy! No room on the desk otherwise.... Don't think there will a problem with them breaking through their shells. I'll have holes bored through them with my eyes.

TO sent me "the" list. The yard is going to be quite colorfull!

The bator is holding temp and the humidity hovers around 43% . Can't remember what I used last time for adding water. It'll come to me after I assemble the funnel and hose

Thanks for the well wishes on the hatch! Think it will be much higher than my first 2 attempts. BFF asked what I was going to do if most hatch, told him the coop will get bigger.

troll I hear ya on the mudding. I'd rather hang drywall and that sucks! Although I've done 2 rooms and no mistakes. Oh man I shouldn't have typed that out loud. Still avoiding the first sand in the bedroom, but that's going to have to happen soon. Want to have that room done by the end of next month and good start on the 2nd bedroom.

Tat cool beans on the springs! Bet that water makes good coffee
lau.gif
Gotta go!

Good morning everyone! DrH--you must have forgotten--Tatters doesnt drink coffee...he has some other thing he drinks, cant remember what it is called...so, any eggs hatched yet?

So did the table come out OK? I have it very orderly and I can resend it if the lines were all messed up...

Gotta run and take dd25 to work--talk later! Terri O

Good Morning all !!

DrHa, looks like we are going to have pitter patters at the same time !!! I set some eggs on the 16th, the 22nd and yesterday the 27th !!!! Now I'm starting to sound like Jim, staggered hatches !!!! Speaking of the devil
somad.gif
lau.gif

Miss hearing from ya !!!

I set 8 lavender cross silkie eggs yesterday and 2 paint silkie crosses yesterday as well. I have more then 42 eggs in the bator but alot are not veining but I knew that since some were older. I did the float test and some where starting to go upright so they weren't the freshest but I decided to experiment to see if they would develop.
Hopfully I will get some nice lavender split hens
idunno.gif
that I can breed back to their daddy the lavender rooster (that sounds sick ) so I will get pure lavenders. And keeping my fingers crossed for some paint chicks !!!
fl.gif

Good Luck DrHa !!!

Hey Jim yours should be hatching any day right ?

Cindlady, I wasn't able to pull up the CL ad you posted when I was down in Racine. Now that I'm safely home Up Nort care to share what I missed out on ???

I think I'll pass on the War Horse Movie, for one I don't like to pay their prices and I don't like sad movies. If I wait long enough I think they'll have it on my Giddyupflix.com list of Dvd's I can rent.

Ok, coffee time !
