I know Purina makes Du-mor, but if I had to choose between them, I'd get the Du-mor in a heartbeat. I've compared the guaranteed analysis of both (in the layer feed, not the chick starter) and the Dumor has higher amounts of certain ingredients and is a better quality feed. Just my 2 cents.

Just wanted to say HI to everyone, we been busy, but having fun. A couple of weeks ago went to Lake of the Woods MN ice fishing for for 6 day and heading out this weekend just south of LaCrosse.
One of my BCM started laying a jumbo egg, we haven't eaten one yet, but if they are not a double yolker, is there any reason not to incubate them? I better have one for breakfast tomorrow, I know it will taste good.

Sorry for not calling TO.. work is kicking my butt.
I found out one of my blue cuckoo maran cross POL.. is actually POC (crow).. she er.. I mean he was crowing and he is a EE/maran cross. I sooo wanted olive eggs... WAHHH

I am taking my friend to his SSI/SSDI hearing in the morning.. and testifying for him as well.
Wading through LOTS of paperwork so that we can present a good case.. so much fun...

My days have consisted of
-get up
- (2) let dogs out
-take sheet off of parakeets - feed if needed
-(3)let dogs in
- either heat water in Mic OR turn on kettle (they are easy to please, just tell them they don't have any water weight gain!!)
-stir in instant coffee...
-drink
-get dressed to go feed horses
-repeat 2 and 3
-feed chickens,
-let geese/cats and barn dog out
-if lucky have real coffee with Joan
-(4)feed horses and dodge hay as it flies back towards as I feed it.
-peel off barn clothes that were over work dudes
-Go to work-
-repeat 4
-go home
-repeat 2-3 and parakeets
Add in making dinner, submitting invoices
and sleeping some where in all this.

WCc....That wouldn't be a bad day if you didn't have that 8+ hours of going to work in there too!

MLH... How are the kits? Any left? When we raised rabbits we had a few "3 strikes your out" does! Makes you kinda wonder how there ever got to be so many!

CC... Hyper- Divle- Cat is fine. She's going to be a long lean girl. Have fun with your new toy!... Just remember, you don't HAVE to keep it FILLED!

Good Morning all, Good Night for me. I was up way to late downstairs. I have a silkie that I think won't be here in the morning. I was hand feeding him and giving him water with a syringe.

Didn't go down there until about 1am. One thing led to another and here I am. It's 6am and I have to deliver eggs at 11:30am in town !!! Shoot !!

The tractor is still at the end of the driveway. I went to town to get gas but OM beat me home. I asked him if he wanted me to pull the truck by the tractor so he could see while he put gas in it and we could get it off the road. It's actually off the road but D@mn close to it. He said no it won't start, needs to be jumped. When we had a new alternator put on we have to take a wire and touch it to the alternator or some BS to get it to charge the battery !!!
Of course he wasn't doing that !!! So .......
So I guess he is going to call the neighbor tomorrow and have him help get it started. My poor tractor. OM lost the oil air cleaner someplace too.

Ok, gonna take something for my backache and try to sleep for a few hours. It's gonna be a long crappy day I'm afraid !!

Good Morning Everybody! Jim won't be on until Fri at the earliest seems the mother board needed to be replaced. He posted pics of Nora and a few of his flock. AND pics of his place said it was a cow pasture when they built there. Just to continue my mean streak. The trees are huge he must be really old!

Bf4 the feed mix is very important no matter the manufacturer. But think that once you start using a certain kind you should stick with it unless there are issues. I bought a couple of different types and the hens stopped laying. Just sayin. Day 18 OOOO can't wait for the pics! FT hope you get that tractor off the road before someone hits it! Hope your back is feeling better! Cind geez that had to be scary! Glad there wasn't a problem. Good mail lady! Hope your feeling better too! Troll good to hear from ya how many fish? WCc take a BREAK! Your makin me tired and I have a lot to do. TO now I want scalloped taters too! Speakin of taters where's Tat been? Didn't get the coop cleaned yesterday so will get that and the brooder cleaned before the piggys start to smell. Man they grow fast! No wonder with all the feed they've been scarfin down 2 qts a day now. CC yup I don't go anywhere anymore without the cell. Last summer I ran out to the BFF's and got about a mile from the house when I realized I didn't have it. Went into a short panic. Thought my god how things have changed. But I made it all the way there AND all the way back without it.

Hope the bator chicks hatch!

Important question for the experts, please:

Ok, I have a chick in the bator that hatched last night. (Still nothing out of the other one yet). Her siblings are in with momma & were hatched on Sat. & Sun., and they're hellions. Do I leave the chick in the bator, or put it with mom & sibs? I'm afraid her sisters will trample her like DrH's Lil B. Should I take the older chicks & put them in a brooder and give mom just this one chick for awhile til it gets stronger?

Morning all!
Got DH home safe and sound from Milwaukee. He had fun in CA but said it's good to be home. He and his mom had fun and she loved being ferried around. She also had fun getting out and going to eat at all the restaurants she missed. She took her first drive since she broke her ankle yesterday and she did just fine.
The dogs were so happy to see him! They rough housed around the house for hours to show him just how happy they were to see him. Ely, our oldest, kept going and getting toys for him. Kept quite an eye on him in case he disapeared again. Emmitt was happy to have is personal heater back....

Oh I have to tell you all this! So on the way home, I'm telling DH about the Feline Scientists gravity testing anything on the table so I have it all cleaned off and the only thing on it is the incubator. They can't move that! So I told him-Watch What you put on the table. Later that night, he goes out to the kitchen and passes the table. He finds his water glass tossed on the floor with water everywhere! I was like Dude! I told you to watch what you put on the table! He just sighed as he cleaned up the mess!! LOL!!!

The Girls are good and I think the Champaigne is getting ready to kindle. She does not seem as protective as Cali but I noticed at the breeders place the Champaigne's were a lot more placid mothers.

Got the incubator all set up and on. I have a cold spot but all the temps are spot on and holding well around the cold spot.

Cind-Cali still won't let me get near her nest so I have not had a chance to check for any more kits. So far I have only found the two that have died.

CC- Here is my 2 cents: I think you will still be able to put the incubator baby in with her sibs. The question will be if the mom excepts her or not. I would place the baby in with her a night so she wakes up with an extra one. Just be prepared that the hen may not keep her or she might kill her. The other chicks should be fine with her even though she is smaller. They are young enough where it should be ok. The Sibs probably won't like it much if your take them from Mom. She will probably get pretty upset too. I'm not sure I I helped......

FT-sorry to learn about the sick little chick.
