ps ( I think I said we were going to the movies?) we watched Journey2 in 3D it was AWESOME!! DS8 screamed like a little girl when the eel jumped out of the screen at us! lol it made us ALL jump including my 14 year old lol
today we stayed in and watched real steel, another good movie.
tomorrow it's the smurfs lol
ok NOW I'm going to bed. after of course I check the chicks. PS I brought mama (buffy - buff silkie) and the 2 chicks/1 egg in cause its COLD out there and that and the evil Miss splash is out there. her theory is to kill it if peeps. :( AND not to mention I had FOUR hens sitting on 3 eggs. I was affraid they would squish the chicks
good night! lol

I'll give Tyler a plug (he lives just up the road a ways from me). I ordered Call Ducks from the place he gets them from, only due to PP not being able to get any more for the year when I needed to place my order. All 6 babies arrived alive and just fine! TO has a few at her place (the REALLY loud ones) and what we have left made babies and now we are back to having a few VERY LOUD calls.... (thankfully the neighbors do not care...). If PP was able to get them I would have ordered from him just to support his business since he is local.

The party was GREAT! Catered food from Menasha Grill and all Southern specialties (gumbo, Jambalaya, etouffee, etc.) all topped off with bread pudding with whiskey sauce and King cake! I'll put up a pic as soon as I can get them off the camera.....

Tomorrow the oldest son turns 15. I cannot believe it, time just flies. I'll be cranking out a birthday cake tomorrow, thank goodness we gave him his gift a few weeks back. He was in desperate need of a new trumpet, and with SE looming I picked up a Getzen for him (thank you CL). Before we gave it to him I had my sis look it over and clean it up; then we told him it was hers and I was just keeping it at the house so I could drop it off at the music store for her...... he was shocked when I finally spilled the beans and told him it was his B-day present!

I seem to be doing more yawning than anything else..... better call it a night.

Hi all!

Got the first 2 saddles done, 2 different sizes. Maybe I'll do a fashion tomorrow.

Made some of that Italian Beef tonight on some hard rolls. Home made onion rings and deep fried mushrooms! Don't eat deep fried food much anymore, but sometimes ya' just got to have it!

Well, off to cut a little wood, then bed! Night all!

Good morning folks,

thanks for the input bigz and MLH, I'll call Abendroth this week and check things out. I did business with them 30 yrs ago when I raised ducks, geese, and guinea hens always had good experiences with them.

I'm not sure how many FR's I'll raise I have a local restaurant that is a customer and the main reason I will be doing several batches of broilers. I'm considering the FR after talking to a few growers around the country as well as a local friend that are really happy with raising them.

Bigz I currently have 23 layers, trying to establish a fresh egg business, as the customer base develops I will add more pullets, actually I plan on rolling the dice and adding them in early April

bbl have to check the waterers and get the eggs b4 they freeze,,,lol

Good Morning everyone! Just thought I would stop in and say Hi!

Is anyone starting seeds yet for their gardens? I am getting excited for the gardening season. Must be all the nice weather!

Just wanted to know if anyone went to Pioneer Days in Ridgeland WI yesterday. My Daughter called yesterday and told me there was going to be a chicken drop at noon, where they drop over 100 chickens off a bank and whomever catches them gets to keep them. Hmph. I would have driven over there to see what this was about but I only found out about it minutes before it was happening. Ridgeland is approximately 30 miles north of Colfax. This is in the west central part of the state. BBP and Angiebubs area.

I had a link but couldn't get it over here.

I am so ready for Spring. I started some cabbage a couple days ago. I need to sit down and update my smartgardener.com page with my new seeds I just bought. The site sends me emails when its time to start my different seeds and is set to my garden zone. Hopefully this year my garden turns out better than last year. Last year we just moved here so I didn't realize the frost and cold lasted so long so I lost a bunch of plants. I also have a huge amount of sand in our soil so this year I am bringing in a dump or two to fill the garden area. DH and I were actually talking about the garden yestarday, we decided to us a different area of the property because he doesnt want to mow it anymore lol. But its all good, the spot is bigger than the spot I was originally going to use.
