kristip... love the chick picks!

GR... can't wait to see the finished coop!

To... hope things get better!

Sure hope this run of sick critters is over soon!

Put the heat lamp on for Storky and the kids... they should be fine. The ones in the house are starting to show their strips!

I am getting so frustrated with this hatch! first 2 weeks fine...The the 103*-104* for a few hours... then the humidity.

Took the turner out, added a damp sponge. Got the humidity up to 70% but the temp fell to 90* and stayed there for a few hours.

Btw... Did you tape the seams of your Bator?one of the smart guys here told me that trick and it really helps with the humidity ! Night dear!

Good Morning Everybody! Tomski was thinking maybe this weekend for the first cutting, have been putting it off cause after you mow it it grows.

Have a little snow on the roof and car nothing stuck to the ground. Cind after following Jims instuctions my hatch rate has gone way up. The tape idea really helped with the temps staying stable and humidty stays higher too. Haven't seen any movement this morning but I've only looked half a doz times.

Bl4 noticed Blackies "nails" the other day each foot has 2 yellow ones and one black, same toes. With the black legs it looks like someone painted them. Think I got the seeds in the ground just at the right time. Didn't have to make any snow to throw on them. Got dill, 2 rows of carrots one row of lettuce and spniach and something else. Think I'll add another row of lettuce can't get enough of that. Soon the onions and taters goin in just cut the eyes yesterday and letting them scab over before they go in. Think today will be a bator watch day. Ken been a long time since I've heard them called man roses.

Hang in there with the kids! Your a better man than I. Gotta go look again.

Good morning everyone. Nothing new and exciting going on here. No snow thankfully but it is raining. I think I may stransplant some of my seedlings into bigger containers today. Some of then are getting pretty big and I still have some seeds that need the lid closed so they can grow. Have a great day.

good morning.. the hatch is about over..45out of 58 hatched so far.. a few stragglers yet.. turkeys went 5 out of 6.

FYI> the higher the humidity,,, the harder your incubator has to work to keep the temperature up..

why do you want it so high in the first place ? Mine are all at +- 50%.. I have not had a sticky out of over 90 hatched.. (chickens and turkeys)

I have to add heat shield to the brooder pens.. this cold weather makes it just a bit cool in the coop. It would help if the chicks didn't scrape away their hay bedding from the wire floor..

Had a pin-hole in the top of one of the gallon waterers. I patched it with Gorilla Glue.. Gorilla Glue, WD40, Duct tape , J B Weld and electrician's tape.. the five greatest tools ever invented..

Annie had to help one chick out of the shell .. it was comical as heII.. I should have taken a picture.
It pipped OK and all, but it stuck it's whole leg straight out of the zip. it was in a real dilemma.
I didn't try to see if it could hop around like that..
