Sounds like the tech used the wrong vial (red top). Not a good thing to be screwing up. BTB sounds just like my Junior when he was little. Thank goodness his 2 brothers weren't like that too. I don't think my house would have survived!

Ken, I have one brooder that is 2x2x3 and it barely holds 6 peeps to 4 weeks.

EL, I was just watching the weather. Looks like we're going to get frost tomorrow night in the SE. Jim & co. are going to get 3 to 5" of snow?

Not much else new here. Ramses is looking good again today, as is Prissy. Yesterday she looked pretty bad, so I took her outside to stretch her legs & get some sun. It must have done her good, because she is looking pretty chipper today. She even walked all the way down to the chicken yard to talk with the rest of the gals for a while. Hopefully the rain will go away so I can take her out again tomorrow. Hmmmm, these cats are giving me the look. Must be time to eat, again. Sigh. Well, sweet dreams, all!

update..  now there are 7 puppies..  IDK the gender of #7..

I just transferred 6 turkey, 16 del and 36 barrock to the hatcher..  (58 total).  floated all that were still  in there.. 1 quail is still moving..   had a quail egg blow up in my hand.. how can such a tiny thing stink so bad ?  2 turkeys are pipped already..

I have about 7 dozen guinea eggs to set..  found 3 dozen on the door step this morning..  I suspect it was Jim P  who dropped them off..  It is a good thing I can double stack guineas..

Congratulations on the pups and chicks, what kind of turkey's do you have? I'm looking for Midget whites, Gonna set eggs next week sometime my tractor is finally finished except hubby has to add me some wheels....will post pictures as soon as he gets the wheels on. LOl its a very colorful coop, reddish brown, periwinkle, blue's creams, grays, LOL did paint a cool chicken picture for it though..... used up alot of my extra old paint I had laying around.........

stupid me! always thinking I can wing incubating.... needless to say I'm gonna find my notes. Thankfully I typed them up here on BYC also now I don't have to dig. the one chick finally hatched with help. I guess my hygrometer was off. it was saying that I had high enough humidity with out adding water. WRONG! the one chick seemed wet enough to spin in there but he/she didn't zip at all. the rest of the hatches are gonna be good. I just wanted to waste the power for the last 3 weeks lol what the h3ll right!? lol
why does it seem like we always run out of fuel oil in April. you almost don't want to get more cause you know it will get warmer lol Brrrrrrr!
anywho Im gonna watch some netflix and go to bed lol I'M TIRED! lol

Join the freaking club. First hatch here is pathetic; 2 buff brahmas and maybe 1 jaer will make it, had 2 die in the shell after pip and a good 10 did nada. My hum was screwed up. Really hoping I don't trash the duck eggs, 5 days to go. Just put about 20 eggs under broodies, pretty sure they will do better than I. Gah. I HATE being a bator noob.

I brought momma chick and babies in the house for the night. 29* for a bantam cochin with 4 babies outside = me losing sleep. So they're inside now and I can get a good night's sleep.

An Easter Egger, eh, Black Brook? I'm pricking my ears up even though I can tell you exactly nothing about whether or not we could accommodate said currently baby Easter Egger. Gee I was sure we'd have our coop done by now! That's a cliche isn't it? Dang life keeps happening!

Tonight I'm cutting out paper kitty ears so my daughter and her friends will look like Hello Kitty for her birthday party this weekend
