Bl4, I hope your allergies & asthma calm down for a while. If I can get some out, would you like a little chunk of my lavender plant for your soaps? I have one that seems to be doing ok, but it is mixed in with some of my other plants, so I'm not sure how well I'll be able to get it out. But I could try if you want.

Raim, what a great idea about the drawers! I wish we would have had them in our old place. Who couldn't use more storage space?

Carol, that dog is beautiful! I hope you can get him "trained". What happens to him in 2 weeks? Those poor dogs. I really despise people sometimes. If you can't properly care for an animal, don't have them.

Didn't see any blue skies down here until after 5pm, I think. The chickens didn't seem to mind, though. They did not want to go in tonight. I put the lavs in with Moose last night & everything went well. No squabbles, thankfully. Tonight Alice went in with them too. Evidently she's feeling the urge to be a momma again? Moose sure missed her, that was obvious.

So now he's back to being a happy boy. Other than that, not much else happening. Sweet dreams, all!

Im by WollersheimWinery and I eat fancy cheeses with my fancy chickens, ducks and goats! lol  That same person threw out a baited hook and I bit hard on some possible ducks for my DGF!  So I mean everything I said in fun! lol

CC I would love some of your Lavender.... I would not be able to use it in my soaps though, I would need to learn how to extract the essential oils from the plant. If I were to add the leaves or the flowers directly to the soap, the caustic would turn the organic materials brown. I think the rain helped out some with the allergies; that triple whammy of cold temps, allergies, and asthma are a killer! I managed ok today without inhaler and antihistamines or decongestants.

Amy, I will have to check out the ski lift area (up on top), I think it is the only place we did not get to today. At High Cliff we were hiking along some of the quarry areas, the beach, up at the lookout tower, and up by the Indian mound trail. We did go out by the kilns and down along the lake, but I do not think we went far enough to see the limestone bluffs. We were not really wanting to hike all over the place since we will be attempting to re-shoot today with wedding dresses on..... my biggest concern was watching out for poison ivy!

Up bright and early tomorrow. Going in an hour early to make up time spent at a meeting on Thursday.

Apyl.... That looks very much like what my guinea has. Same area too. When I opened it up all that's there is clear liquid. If it's been awhile it might get slightly gelled. No infection. I have been draining it every few weeks. She seems fine otherwise too. I'm wondering if sinuses might be blocked on one side? Have you tried opening

DrH.... I'll call 2nd son tonight and see.

TO.... How did you DH get "Communist holiday" out of May Day? (Beltane, Walpurgis) Communist only recognize "State" observances.

Didn't't know they hung onto that one. Had some great Beltane celebrations in my time... rather miss it.

I go in streaks with reading. I hate to give books up! I have hundreds! I have a collection of first edition Star Trek books and lots of Si-Fi. Lots and lots of reference books too. Don't have a Kindle yet, maybe when I get my next book worm bite.

Apyl... is she able to see clearly does it seem? I have one chick I wonder if she has good vision because she really looks at treats and tries to focus on them before eating... might just be a slow chicken... she is cute though. Hope your silkie baby is ok...

On a sad note kinda for me... of the 9 babies I have in my garage from our hatch or Carol provided me... I think 5 -6 are roos. I am sad because one is an EE that is absolutely gorgeous and sweet.
Ok experts... if an EE came from a blue egg, does that give it more of a chance of laying blue eggs? Is is for sure or just a better chance?

I dont think it can see very well if at all thru that eye. when it eats and moves around it whips its head back and forth like its trying to look with the one eye. But it doesnt seem to slow it down.

No I havent tried to open it.

No humor just some great responsibility in taking control and not always putting the birth control on the woman! We are evolving!

Twizzle- cute pup, I don't think I have go my Lucie to sit still long enough to take a pic! It is either full go or sleep on my lap on the couch while I watch tv! One good thing is I think she is done harassing the chickens, she has left the littles alone now and only messes with her favorite RIR who will not back down and nails the crap out of her!

Good Morning. Good thing I woked in the yard yestarday, boy did it rain last night. The ducks are having a blast in my flooded driveway. I hope the weather cooperates so my garden can get tilled this weekend. We got busy last weekend so of course put it off again. I need to start some more seeds, some of the ones I already started have decided to die on me. One of these years I'll actually be prepared and do it right. Shifu my baby Jumbo Pekin/Rouen mix is a week old today and still doing great. I took her outside yestarday for some fresh air and to meet the crew. I had her in a guinea pig cage without the bottom so she could be on the grass and not get hurt by the chickens. It didnt go to bad, Po the pekin came over with all the Mallards and hung out by the cage and chased off a couple chicken that were sitting on top of the cage. I've made a gameplan for the next section of yard I want to clean out. Its gonna take forever but it will be worth it. I also want a few more trees cut down so I'll have even more logs and branches to move to the GIANT burn pile. Well, I hope everyone has a nice day.
