"rub a dub dub, 2 ducks in a tub!"

Amy look at the bright side, 1 I betcha the ducks can now swim, and 2 you won't have to water all those new plantings for a couple weeks. How did the pond fair?

HELLO???

Where is everyone? Did yah get washed out in torrential rain??? All of you? Because if you ALL got washed out, then you were all at the same place. If you were all at the same place, then you were having a party, and I wasn't invited....

I hope you all washed away... :p

Evening All...We lucked out and the weather was nice for word day at Camp. Prolly 15 of us there to stack wood, cut the grass, cut up some trees and do some raking. I'll prolly help out Sat Morning for some more wood stacking. The wood shed has quite a void in it.

Nice pics Amy...you guys really had a flash flood, eh! Glad the ducks didn't float away for good on you. Glad they didn't go to far.

Hope you can make the bash unk. It is closing in fast now!

Cind, do you need some egg cartons? I have extras if you do.

Time for a couple long tall cold ones.... bigz

Hey all---not a lot of rain here. Good thing cause it is SO muddy here already--it is very tough walking unless I wear my BIG winter boots with the tread. It is really too hot for that though!
Amy--all I can say is WOW! That is a lot of water. You have a creek there usually right? Has it ever flooded like that? I was amazed on Blackhawk when I could canoe down the road...I dont think they even flooded this storm.
I had a bunch of hail coming down on my car while I was making lunch for a man...then lots of thunder and lightening in another city but not much rain...feeling sorry for those that had stuff float away!

Well I guess I better go on out and lock up my charges! Have a great night everyone! Terri O

I am so exhausted I may very well pass out right here in the chair. Yesterday I started hoeing a row in the garden to get the lines set up for planting on Monday. My body is aching so bad today. Sadly I didn't even get one whole row hoed. The garden is about 100 x 50 and I need to do about 16 or so rows. THEN, today we had a field trip to Kickapoo Valley Reserve where a guy taught about survival, eating wild plants, making fire, etc. It was 80 degrees mind you and I had a baby strapped onto my back for nearly 3 hours while I sweat so much I felt slimy. Stopped at an Amish greenhouse on the way home and picked up some pepper plants. 3 times mine have failed this year and we're planting on Monday so I needed to get some. Got home, had dinner, took the kids to the park for a bit and called it a day after putting the chickens to bed. We only got 1 egg today!? Weird! Also, the neighbor's barn cat killed a snake. Anybody know what kind this is?

Goodnight all! See ya in the morning!

EL, I think it is a Brown Snake.

The picture on the link is not as good as the ones you would find if you do a quick image search for the snake. They are harmless.

Can we say FLOOD this morning???? I was never so happy to have a Jeep as I was today. The City of Oshkosh has a horrendous storm sewer system. You all saw the flood going through Amy's yard? Add all that 4+ inches of water to a metro area with a lot of blacktop.... I was driving through streets with water bubbling a good 6-8 inches out of the manholes. The majority of the city was like that: a lot of water with no place to put it.

Happy to be home and not in that mess any longer. We had guys leave work today because of basements flooding....

Ok, have to get some shut-eye. Burning the candle at both ends as they say....

Terri, sorry I forgot to say I sure hope you're feeling better soon. Ouch! I'm glad someone was around to help you find your glasses. Take care of yourself.

Cind, good luck to you & DH on his diet. I hope you're feeling better too.

Oh no, Amy. Sorry to hear you got socked with all that rain. At least it isn't in your basement. Glad to hear the duckies are all ok. Scary for sure what mother nature can do. They showed a lot of pics on the news tonight about Oshkosh getting hit bad with lots of flooding.

Hey Unk, you don't by any chance grow any yellow tomatoes, do you? She is a snot, isn't she?????

So sorry to hear about all the rain woes. Didn't have any here except a few stray sprinkles, but it sure looked like it could have poured quite a few times. It was pretty warm & muggy, but we managed to get a bit of yardwork in today. DH cut grass while I did some trimming. I'll get that finished right about the same time as it will need it again.

I got the coop cleaned out today too. Used it to mulch around a couple of trees. I also found one of my metal pots lost a battle with DH & his lawn tractor.

The newest chicks are getting acclimated to seeing the mower & are settling in with the rest of the flock quite nicely. There are very few squabbles any more, so that is always a good thing. They still like to hang out in their little "groups", but they are intermingling more often. The lavs are looking almost the same size as Moose's kids already, but they still sound like chicks. Moose's kids, on the other hand, sound very hen-ish and talk a LOT, just like their daddy. Or should I say complain? It always sounds like they're b!tching about some thing or another.

One of them laid another shell-less egg again today, but it was out in the yard. And someone laid one yesterday from up on the roost. I'm guessing the cranky old biddies were all hogging up the boxes. They seem to like to do that from time to time. Chicken drama............

Not much else here. I hope the rain falls softly for everyone. Sweet dreams, all!
