Oh and Just and FYI the white elephant gifts we were bringing were 100 live meal worms in a plastic shoebox with wheat bran for bedding and a stick of celery for their first meal.

And a Ho-Made water bucket with nipple waterers !!!

Sorry to have to say I left the meal worms in the truck overnight so I wouldn't forget them on Friday, they would have been fine but............. clearing my throat............ they aren't now.

Guess the heat took a toll on them too !!!

And no I didn't look close enough to see if they had heat blisters Doc !!!! lol

I sure hope you all had something other then booze to cool down with since I was bringing the ice cream............. Sorry about that

Dh just called, he's working late until 6pm and asked if I want to meet him in Elcho for dinner. Only dinner in town. So I guess I will attempt to put on the leg and see just how painful it is gonna be. Have to figure out what to protect it with first. OUCH but hey I'm hungry and getting tired of laying in front of the fan NAKED !!!!

Leaving on a sad note I lost a paint silkie chick today and a few others along the way including a black showgirl chick (my first black showgirl) NOT any of the two lavender silkie chicks TG !!!!!

I think it may be cocci. Don't know what else. I haven't been giving them medicated food but I was putting corrid in their water. Who knows but either way it is sad.

My day has not been super special. I helped my hubby on a three story house and hung a 54 ft gutter with him. Not hard, but very high to climb a ladder while holding a gutter with both hands!

We did go out for brunch. It was alright. I was hoping we could go for dinner instead, but oldest has a chorus concert tonight and one of us has to go watch! I was really looking forward to seafood too! I had to make my own cake, low carb cheesecake. I hope it turns out good. Its te only thing I have left to look forward to! Not a single card from any of my kids, and the camper was mothers day/birthday present. So all in all, today is rather extrodinarily ordinary.

(yes I'm having a pity party CC! Ad I'm 38 today, not another number!) I'm still younger than lots if you so THAT makes me feel better...

Just a quick note.. had company today. so did not get much done.. I did get the eggs all labled and into the bater, though.. guinea - 18 for me, 60 for Marlene.. 1 goose, 1 peacock and 47 chicken for brian.. 127 total..

I still might take a tractor and mark some rows in the garden.. I would really like to get some planting done tomorrow..

had two turkeys hatch today.. 6 more eggs due..

Thanks so much for posting your magic potion Cind! I have no herbs over here but the ones to cook with! Cind you and the hubs should just ditch the fool tent next year! The bunk houses offer nice wooden bunks with 3 inch mattresses on them if you're concerned about your back being supported? I think however I now remember springs... could put a board over that? I'm sorry that you're all hurty, dear.

Just came back from getting some prescription Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream. Who comes up with these names btw? Hope it eases the maddening itch.

Mosquitos are waking up in our forest for reals now. Does anyone use a mosquito fogger with the chickens around? I'd be afraid I'd contaminate the grass or something... Anyone have something that works for them???

We patched the hole in the fence, and then curiosity took over me last night as I went out and sat on the swing set by the fence with my black lab until about midnight to see what my poor roos were up against, and sure enough 3 coyotes came right up to the fence, probably looking for another snack. After throwing a 2 by 4 at one and my lab barking at them, they ran off. I'm sure they'll be back. With 10 acres of woods maybe I should look into a coyote hunter for the next season xD

Garden planting Day Here....only have a couple rows left to plant....ahead of the usual schedule. Glad I don't have to replant Jim...once is enough for me. Although it seems I had some to this year.

Good black bean soup in the box from Aldi's Tomski. We bought a couple boxes at shawano and they haven't had any since then....no need to add water...heat and serve...good stuff for not being ho-made. gotta love that store!

We need rain bad here....hope we get some this week.
