Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Frost tonight!

If my guess is correct, at least for us, it will be more like a freeze

Good thing I know this drill all too well. Already have the thick blankets, foam pots and rose cones all drug out of the garden shed and waiting for the wind to die down, sigh. Wouldn't be so bad if this spring hadn't made EVERYTHING in the veggie gardens pop out of the ground almost overnight so now I have tender, young plants everywhere except, that is for the tomatoes I started in the greenhouse which are so big already they are going to be very hard to cover

question~does anyone else have chickens that actually like to play in puddles? I know my hens have been a bit deprived, but puddles? Really?

Raim... LOL, I played the lion video and the dog started barking!

Trimed the beak on the hooked beak Ameracuana this afternoon. Gave her a bath too, now she's drying off and taking a nap. Wish I could fix it so it wouldn't keep growing out

CU later...

Cind lol that's funny
I HATE THE DENTIST! now I'm cracky! what to do? I have NO patients right now. even my head hurts from the numbing meds. once again I get to remember why I hate being numbed up. I would rather not be numbed. yes I have gotten a filling and not been numbed up. the cavity wasn't bad. I tried this time but it was to deep.

later.... after the meds where off lol

Early evening everyone...what a great bunch of pics everyone shared...sweet! You must be able to type without looking at the keys frenchie...

You shoulda had some bear with yor eggs this mornin unk...seeing they are in the pig family as you know LOL. Your numbers on baiting aren't in line with the new limits that are allowed for deer now...limit is 2 gals a day.
While I feel your fustration...the bears were here first....one can live in town you know. Let's live in the bear enviornment, and then blame the bears....just sayin. I think we should bring back the public dumps, then the bears and the country folks would be happy....the problem started with us you know? Not the DNR , this time, again LOL. The bears were perfectly happy without our impact....

Cool Day here...we should be just south of the frost...that's a good thing for sure!

Venzun steak with fried tatos and eggs tonight....one of those breakfst for suppers tonight.

Stay Safe... bigz

cool good afternoon, I have to type fast so I don't forget my comments.. whoops, too slow..

got all the plants and seeds in the ground.. then somebody mentioned peas.. I have lots of room in the garden for more stuff.. My one nephew has already woosed out on his gardening venture.. I told Annie that he would.. Annie is not keen on peas, but I like to go and eat them right off the vines.. No CC, I don't graze, I pick them first..

I hauled 100 gallons of water to the garden and set up the channels from plant to plant. I even watered the 18 hills of cukes and squash.. If you ever want to appreciate the importance of rain, just haul water .. there must be innumerral gallons of water to make all the ground wet..

100 gallons made only one row wet.

we are good to go with no frost tonight,,, IF you can believe the weather guy..

TICKS !! to easily remove them, soak a cotton ball in liquid soap or detergent and rub the tick for about 20 seconds or so.. he will let go and be stuck to the soap.. my cousin gave me this tidbit of knowledge. I don't have ticks, so I won't be able to test it out..

I had a whole flock of geese playing in the mud with me.. then I saw one of my guineas running full tilt down the center line of the road.. I'LL bet people just love driving past my obstacle course. do you know how many ways "obstacle" can be written before it comes out correct?

Annie just called.. she does not trust the weather man.. Soooo off I go to cover tomatoes and peppers..

...........jiminwisc.............

Must be a baiter hey bigz? I said the problem started with us, the DNR in their own way has only contributed to the situation for $$$$$,,,,,I grew up a mile from this farm, never had any bear issues until the widespread use of bait (20 yrs) and the unrestricted backyard feeders,,,does that say anything? Wolves were also here first and I don't think there is much debate as to the results of the re-introduction of those critters. of course when they lottery the permits to remove them "sportsmen" will be standing in line to get a chance to bag one. Fishers a prime example of that just recently.

Funny thing, you mention the 2 gallon limit for bait, yet starting in early Sept there are thousands of pickup/trailer loads of corn headed north every weekend,,,,a ridiculous law that is impossible to enforce

Don't get me wrong, I am a hunter, killed 2 bears with a bow in the early '70's,,,,no bait involved. Too many deer to count and still enjoying the sport and the game (no baiting),,,,,

We do have bears and deer in our towns up here(back yard feeders),,,,,,,,,and electric fences are illegal! Without the free meals the bears would once again exist where they are happy,,,,,,,,,,the big woods and swamps, not many of us farmers would ***** about that.

Good evening all. MLH it must have been something in the air today...I needed to plant my peas (not very many of the either) It took me until 2 o'clock to get them in the ground and I got nothing done after that! I made some delicious soup for dinner and chased dhickens around to get babies back to mamas; got my trap set for tonight...lost 2 ducklings I just put outside two days ago...probably a coon--I hope I get it tonight! There are way too many birds out there in pens!
Well I have this picture...I am wondering just HOW I will keep the heat in the incubator now?

Good for nothing DUCKS!!! The chickens knocked it down next to a duck nest and she just chewedit right up. Sure hope I can find another bottom on CL!
Went for a Horse ride before dinner...man I love my new horse! Well my daughters are home so I gotta talk to them...good night! Terri O
