Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hi All

Twiz... did you find your silkie?

Bl4... I'm with TO... I think you must glue those little birds in place! How else would you get them to stay long enough for a picture?!
lau.gif

FT... Any update on the horse? Very cool DH go his wallet back!

amber... nice pic of "the kids"... thanks to Jim I have 1 white guinea too. ( I have others, but only 1 white one)

vicki.... hope that rain moved east for you and the garden!

Raim.... hope you feel better.

Jim... Hope you got those sheets changed or it will be a soggy night!

BTW,,, has anyone heard from BigZ?

Not much new here... getting harder to take a fuzzy butt count with Jasmines kids...She is roosting and the big ones won't let the kids up there yet so the scatter in any nook and cranny they can hide in
barnie.gif
Storkey thinks hers are all grown up and won't let them near her anymore. Guess I try to round them up and pen them. Got a few sold so it's time.

Night all

TO; I HATE 'organized' exercise, and running tops my list of activities I detest..... but since I do not live on a farm or ride horses I cannot build the strength I need to compete for this run. I would much rather toss hay bales around to lose weight and get my workout. I like being outside.

I have been taking the dogs with me since I have been walking/running in the early morning. Not quite sure what critters lurk behind the school, on two or four legs! They are pretty funny, all zippy when we start out and dragging their feet when we come home.

Time to make the Carrot Cake for work tomorrow.

Speaking of Carrot cake, I can't remember who brought a wonderful carrot cake to the bash, but if Anyone has that recipe I sure would love to have it????
Nothing new here, didn't get my pictures taken yet of the babies, been weeding the garden, and butchered my nasty roo today cuz I needed the stall for the babies I got from Jim, they are too big to add to 1 pen and too small to add to the other so I had to think of a place for them b4 they out grow this kennel, which will be soon.......... they are getting huge already............. so hopefully tomorrow I will get pictures.
Raim........ sorry for you to be sick during this nice weather, Hope you feel better soon.....
Love the duck Pictures such a little cutie, and the stuffed duck also cracked me up but made me say awwwwwwww......
Dan I missed how to trim the maters to make them produce well, would you care to refresh me or send me a pm on what to do?
Yah!!!!!! Jim on the bator, Are you planning to hatch thousands of babies next year??? hehehe I hope so then maybe I will actually get me some more Dels............since my luck is so bad this year.
FT.... if my hubby was working right now I would take that poor horsey, who would do such a thing as to just let them loose alone in a place they have no idea about scared hurt and hungry........OMG what kind of awful person could do that. Just makes me wanna cry.
Well I hope I got everyone, except I think I missed a newby in here yesterday, so a big welcome to you.........

Kim

UPDATE: I found my silkie yesterday afternoon! I was mowing and he ran right out in front of me! I caught him and put him back with the others, they seemed so happy to see him! Well, other than the EE roo. He's been bullying him. I'm afraid he might end up in the freezer if he doesn't stop. The EE is beautiful but I certainly won't get rid of my silkie xD

Slept with one of my beloved pests, I mean pets

Cleo is super cute, until you start to live with her.

Raim - thats awesome thats your getting some much bike time in. I have zero ambition when it comes to exercising.

Susie - My solution to our chipmunk, mice, moles, ect was a cat lol . Savage ( my cat) is an awesome mouser, he kills anyting from birds, chicpmunks, mice, moles, rabbits, squirrels lol

Angie - - My post officer called around 8am last time so now I've got about an hour wait to see if they call. Good luck.

CC -- good idea with the meds

Twizz- Glad to hear you found your silkie.

Good Morning everyone. Its a bit chilly here at 40ish degrees. I should have closed the windows last night, but of course no so I'm sitting here shivering. Not to much is going on today. I need to get out there and put the pump in the ducks pond so I can freshen it up a bit. I never did do it over the weekend. Today is DD's last full day of school, then tomorrow is only till 1230. She's pretty excited. Well thats it I guess, I hope everyone has a good day.

All look healthy and strong. However, there were only 7 not 8-one of the lil sexed banty cochins wasnt in there. Which means I would need to order another 7 or 8 to get it :-(. I am thinking it was the sexed frizzle which was the primary reason I went thru MPC

Good chilly morning! I DID close my windows down here and I am glad! It seems funny to have to close them because once I open them they seem to stay open until fall! Everything about the weather so far this spring has been odd so perhaps I will have to continue to open and close all summer? I hope not...although then that would mean that is isnt too hot outside.

I have to go to work at the "hoarder's" house today...not looking forward to it. My other woman client called at 7 AM(!) to see if I was serious about going along to her DH's Dr appt in Madison next MOnday. I have to switch a few things around but it should be doable. I hope she realizes that I dont just "go along for the ride" cause I like Dr offices so much! Guess I should have been more clear hey? I am going to see if she will let me drive; we went to the hardware store in town on Monday (5 blocks or so) and I thought I might die...

Got the Bobs moved out to their outside pen yesterday. They were totally freaked! Much more skittish than the Cots for sure. (talking quail here BTW

) There are still one or two in the basement that flew up and over the wall! I think they went into the cistern in the basement. My hope is that they come back to the remaining chicks for food and water and I can capture them then. Otherwise I have a few cats that might like to go on a hunting mission!

Man am I ever tired this morning! Can hardly keep my eyes open. I must have been woken up in the wrong sleep cycle or something. Might have to close my eyes for a minute or two before going outside! Nothing in the traps yesterday....not sure about today yet. My tuna is getting old too...what a waste to have it just sit there and not catch anything!

OK--taking a rest now.

Pretty bad when you have to take a rest cause feeding some cats and dogs and driking a cuppa makes you tired...right after you slept all night! I am not looking forward to being as old as Jim that's for sure!

Maybe I'll get a second wind?

Have a fantastic day! Terri O

(PS) BL$ made that delicious GF carrot cake....and the chocolate one...yeah, let's have the recipes. I think you told me but, once again

So do you think it is MPC's way to introduce you to better chicken math?
lau.gif

Did they just forget it or did they not have any? If it was their mistake then they should be able to send you the bird with 2 "packing peanuts" at no charge to you. THey do say you can get as little as 3 dont they?
Terri O

I'm glad yesterday's events are over! No more public animosity until closer to Nov elections. I'm not happy, but I know we are only talking chickens here. Thank goodness for that!

Yesterday I met with WCC carol and adopted 3 girls. Della.... The Delaware, Stella.... The Dominique, and Ella... The bald headed backyard mix. I got my first EVER eggs this morning!!! :D I was so excited to get one brown and one white. Hooray... I'm in the egg collector club!

I thought I cooked them when the incubator spiked at 105, but I continued on with fingers crossed and to my surprise there were 13 of the little devils waiting for me when I got home last night! They are the smallest littles I have ever seen in my life! Thanks TO for setting me up with the Coturnix eggs.
