8.1 mile bike ride!

it only took an hour and 40 mins lol felt good though and it's nice out there. DS12 came with me he needs a new bike seat lol
got home and drank 1qt plus of gatoraide lol
and put on my wrist/arm splint. and it SUCKS for typing. so I'm done trying lol I'm back spacing more than typing forward lol

lol Yep lol I felt bad that she was the only one to hatch. Its been in the brooder with her since day 1, she use to cuddle with it.

Hi everyone,
Love the pictures. Haven't read much yet but will after I ask a few questions....
Is it alright to put down sawdust from untreated lumber in the chicken run?????

Also have way to many Chipmunks eating chicken scratch, is there a good way to do away with all the cute little buggers. DH says maybe sit out there with the 22? Must be an easier way???

We have been very busy, the garden is all up and doing well. Put down a lot of mulch in the yard ( still more needed) it's a start. Hadn't done it for a few years and really needed it. Got a great deal so happy we waited for it.

Found out we will have our third Granddaughter in Oct.

Apyl_Good luck on the male cochin. Thats a lil backwards isnt it? LOL Usually wanting females and getting males. Keep us posted when they arrive. Im crossing my fingers I get woke up with a call tomorrow at 7 am from the PO lol. Next THREE DAYS OFF! WooHoo!!! And today was Megs last day of school. Cute-7th graders had a party to celbrate...I have to go pick her up soon

On another note: You know that dance roo's do, where they drop a wing and then kinda circle around? Any idea what that means? I have 2 hens that are co parenting 3 chicks, going so far as to cram 2 hens and 3 chicks into one nest box even, and the one hen keeps doing that weird mating wing drop dance towards the other hen????

What that means is that they are not all pure lavenders. Lavender to Lavender will give you all Lavender. If he is getting splash then some of his birds must be blues. Just sayin. This is the guy I think I got some eggs from. The didn't hatch well !!!

Kristi, thanks for posting the website about the raspberries. I stopped putting out my birdfeeders & the coons moved on. One did tip over one of my birdbaths & broke it, though.

Susie, if you have critters eating up all your scratch, you might be giving your birds too much?

I've read you should only give them enough that they can finish in 10-15 minutes to avoid attracting unwanted critters. HTH. And congrats on the new grandkiddle!

Not much to report today. Did some running around with mom today. Had to get more meds for Ramses too. He is looking great, BTW. The meds are helping his heart & keeping the fluid from accumulating, but they aren't doing any favors for his ailing kidneys. At least there is nothing that requires any action to be taken yet. He acts like nothing is ailing him, so that is good too. I got some tuna paste, stuffed his meds inside them & tossed them into the dehydrator=instant kitty ambrosia instead of the detestable pills down the gullet!

I am now once again "mom with the permanent lap" and not someone to hide from. Until the shot comes out, that is.

But at least for now, all is well in the kingdom. Now if only this sinus infection would go "poof".......... Sweet dreams, all!
