Ok, Hi!

It's about to rain (sorry) so I'm back in the house with nothing to do so I thought I would harass you folks

I let "Broody butt" out of her cage a little while ago. I know it's a bit early but I had to get the coop cleaned out.
This one is for me

. I was monitoring her to make sure she was eating & drinking BUTI never looked under the cage! As soon as I got her out, I pushed her out the pop hole. She stood on the ramp a minute and looked back then off she went.

I had already let the rest of the ladies out onto the grass and it wasn't long before she took off on a run to join them. She ran right for where I usually place their food in the shade so I picked up the dish and went and filled it for her. WOW! I almost got knocked over from the smell!
th.gif
She had emptied both her ceca in two HUGE piles and was now in the process of "finishing" the job!
D.gif
That's when I realized there was nothing under the cage in the coop. DUH! Poor girl. I had focused so hard on making sure something was going in, I never noticed that nothing was coming out! By the size of those "cow pies", one more day and she probably would have exploded!

Now I am going to have to keep a close eye on her. She had stopped laying before I put her in the cage, but I still need to make sure all that "back up" didn't cause any other problems. Well, for obvious reasons, if this didn't work to break her brood I am definitely not putting her back in the cage!

UHOH! there went the satellite signal so here comes the rain! Better go see where the girls are!

OMG Vic no wonder she was crabby! Glad she got it out her system! Hope she returns to normally crabby now. Dang it CC stop scarin the new folk!

Suki's mom! pay no attention to CC she ain't right. But then again none of us are. Waiting for one of my favorite noises. POOK that jar sealed. Already a lot of onions in the freezer too! Gee maybe a nap, too hot for anything else.

Just taking a breather from jam making. Made some peach jam. Hope it turns out ok...I think I'll get some more blueberries and make another batch of that. Was talking to the fellow Albionites and the dump and eveyone who has gardens are starting to rip out some of the plants. Just not doing well!
I have a Pineapple Tomato (heirloom) and It look ripe-ish. I think I'll pick it and save the seeds. I'll give it to the end of this week for the rest of the tomatoes and then pull them out. They just are not looking good.

Welcom Sukismom! People are really wonderful here! I rather adore them all....even BigFam....She is like the annoying younger sister we all have.....or would have if we had any sisters.... because some of us only have brothers....

DrH-I also choked on your Appaloosa comment ....then I read further! LOL!!

Vicki-V&E's = vitamins and electrolytes. I hate spelling electrolytes because it's on of those words that I can't spell well. Heck I can't spell well to begin with! Ha! Anywho, I have a couple of types. Blue Ribbon Poultry V&E's in the huge multi dose pack. (Unless you have a gazillion chickens. Then it's a one dose thing!) and I have the Save a Chick single dose packets. (For when I'm feeling lazy and don't want to so math conversion from the huge pack!)
Miss Crabby McCrabberson will go back to normal in the "restroom" department when her brood breaks. You are nice to let her out to do her business. SG has no such niceness because she is sneaky, sly, and a pain in the hind end to break her brood.

My husband went ahead an bought the pregnant mare. She immediately kicked my gelding in the chest and side. Now I see she's got cuts on her belly. I sure hope he didn't kick her there!
I have some pretty lame pictures because they have the fly masks on, but here she is.

So those of you who live in the area around us and are getting rain, you can thank us later

Afternoon everyone. Well its been pouring here on and off. lol ;) Our drive and yard is now pretty flooded but soaking up fast with all this sand. The chickens and ducks seem to be enjoying it. I've got a couple pullets that look like their ready to lay ( or maybe they have been but I havent seen any eggs yet), their squatting when I walk up to them, going in and out of the coop all day ( not normal for them), combs have doubled and reddened. I'm crossing my fingers they lay in the coop versus the woods. Other than that nothing much is going on here. The step-kids go home tomorrow, Carol came by to try to get the van running again but it rained her out, all the kids in the area have been hanging out here, and I think thats about it. lol I've got a couple blossoms on my pumpkins and squash and no flowers on the potatos yet. Well guess I better go, time to clean the kitchen up from dinner. I made homemade Sloppy joes and had canned corned beef hash ( DD's request) . I hope everyone who needs it gets the rain.

Back from the zoo! We had a great time! I have to give kudos to the company I work for, they know how to throw their employees a picnic! Brats, burgers, hot dogs, BBQ pork, all the trimmings plus unlimited free ice cream, drinks, popcorn, snow cones, and cotton candy!!!! The kids gorged themselves.... on top of that they give each attendee 3 tickets that are good for 5 different activities (you have to pick three of the five) which are the shuttle, the train, the carousel, the Summer exhibit, or the Sea Lion show. It is so much easier to see the zoo on a motorized vehicle!!!! The company also provides a stuffed animal for each small child, activities for the kids, henna tattoos and face painting.

I shudder to think what this costs for the number of people who do show up.... people who cannot come on the day of the picnic get the same tickets for the zoo, and I am unaware if they get any other perk.....

After the zoo we stopped in at Cabela's to poke around a bit. Always interesting to see what is there.

Tonight the DH and I are going to try and go to an area Fireman Dance..... we will see how tired both of us are. Since DH is taking a nap I bet I will be the party pooper. I am making dinner instead of taking a snooze.....

I went out and bought my own 'tractor' of a sort..... I picked up a new camera! A Canon T3i!!!! With an extra lens, batteries, and a whole buch of extra goodies!

I figure I am due.

H&R... you jinxed us, all that rain went south and east of us... bummer. Watering the garden again. While the wildlife has eaten my cucumbers, broccoli and brussel sprouts, just picked a bumper crop of green beans and some zuccs. yeah. Tomatoes are growing so that is good. Now to prep myself for Disney madness in another week. YIKES
