Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Evening all!!
Finally got caught up! It's been a busy day yesterday and today.
Had errands to run and chores yesterday before I had to go to the Dan County Fair for the Youth Auction, It was the Small Animal Meat Sale. H&R's 4-Hr's had some turkeys we wanted to try to get. We managed to snag one, but it was not one of theirs, sadly. At least the guys who work at the Milton mill/plant will get a nice fresh turkey to BBQ!

Today started early. Since it was dump day I wanted to make sure that I changed rabbit litter and clean the pens. Then we went to do some garage sale-ing. I got some really cool wild life prints for super cheap. Also found some neat buys. Scored a muffin tin for 25 cents, a vintage kerosene lamp for $5, and a working Nesco dehydrater for $3!

Then we came home and I have to make a food item for a pot luck we went to at a hunt club. DH got invited to a private party at a hunt club a few miles away from us. The nice man who owns it is a customer of DH's. Anyway, while there we got the chance to shoot some rare guns. I chose to shoot an MP40. DH shot the MP40 and an MP5.
After we did some target shooting, we then got to eat some really amazing food. Elk chili, venison and cheese noodles of some type, and brauts and home made baked beans! I make deviled eggs courtesy of Midge and Crew!

FT-I'm glad that you got some answers. I wish it was better news but now you have a plan and I will say prayers for ET tonight. Hugs to you both!

Amy-That was gross about the pizza being left in your car....ugh...is right!

Wow, there was more, but I just cant remember it! I guess it's time for bed!
Later!

Judge, ugg, been there. Let freezer day come quickly. Your yard will be so peaceful after that.

Went up to Door Co today with Julie and DH Joel. Found a good secluded beach at Newport State Park. you can wade out a hundred yards and the water is still waist deep. Now for choc ice cream and Three Lakes wine, mmmmmmmm!

Oh I WISH I could have waded in the lake today!!!! I was stuck at work waiting for tankers to come back...... until after 3:30.

So I made good use of my time and made a few things up for my booth tomorrow at the community picnic. I made a sign-up sheet for people to sign and have info on Urban Chicken Myths, Urban coop contests, and of course pics of Chipmunk when she was little and the contact info for the FB site along with email contact info. I think I will sitting out there for a few hours so I better bring some frozen water with me.

Dh just had me watch Amish Paradise..... gotta love Weird Al!

Night all!

Just a quick one...

Anyone remember these "Wheels of Death"? I saw this on FB... aww the memories!

The wonder is we survived all the **** we tried to do on those things! They didn't stay on well and we would try going down hills with them. Heavens forbid you hit a piece of gravel or a crack! Stopping was fun too! Helmet? Knee pads? LMAO!!!! They had to be the most hazardous toy ever, that almost every kid had and loved!

those skates were something, weren't they ? we always had cheap tennies and you had to crank that front clamp all the way closed .. the older boys would take the skates and fasten them onto a 2x4 ,, the first skate boards.. only they would sit on them and ride down the hill.. our hill was town line road/ aka cth N east out of Wausau.. it is about a half mile of good blacktop..

Dan came and took his keets home tonight.. he only wanted the lavender ones, so I am left with a bunch of whites.. that's OK,, I have buyers for some of them .. just have to make a phone call..

the saga of the tractor goes on.. I still could not reach the engine end of the shaft, so I had to take off the radiator and a mounting plate.. tomorrow the shaft comes off, I might have to use dynamite ..

as long as I have it dismantled this far, I might just go ahead and pull the motor and have it rebuilt.

the new peachick is doing well.. I forgot to check in the coop for more keets..

Hi All! Looks like another slow day.

Judge.... Cute story with the 3 yr old! LOL My 3 yr old grandson decided they were balls when he first saw them! Threw 4 before we could stop him! Hope your 8yr old gets over the sadness soon.

BBP... Wow! Bet you all are breathing a sigh of relief! Tragic as the whole thing was.

Bl4.... Good luck with your booth! Hope lots of people show interest!

As for our pump...

don't know what all was/is involved... I was gone when the talked to DH and son.

Guess that's it!.... Night All!

Good Sweaty Morning All! So Jim its the coupling that stripped? Might not want to add that bolt always a good idea to have a weak link but only if its cheap and easy repair. If it's in a spot you can get at easily put a low grade shear bolt in it. You stole my thunder on the skates. We took ours apart and raided the scrap piles of home construction for the boards. Everybody was sidewalk surfin!

Judge cool beans on the kids learning! Funny about the future chef! BL4 hope you get some real info out there! Salads are cleaned and chillin, cuc's are soaking in ice water, chickens are fed and watered, now gotta load up that plucker and take it back. I see I need to pick some beans too. Gotta love it!

Breakfast of Champions!!! Raisin toast with PB, a few slices of bacon and of course some Joe....

Just taking a moment before I round everything up and head over to the Park. I hope I am able to answer everyone's questions!!!

Cind, I had a slightly more 'modern' version of those skates.... and we did all the same things you mentioned. I love telling my kids about riding my bike when I was a kid too and all the stuff we did without helmets and padding all over us. Those accidents build character darn it!
