Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I successfully removed the "bean" from my gelding today. Took like 10 seconds. Pretty good for my first time.
Now save 'em for smegma bean cassa-roll !!!

Hen update... pretty certain it is not heat exhaustion. Upon doing some research on BYC... her symptoms are pointing to internal laying or yolk buildup internally... there is a fancy word for it, but that is the best I can do to explain.
she is still very listless and wobbly. Wants to sit down. eats just a little and drinks a little ( I have her on antibiotics). Even cooked some egg and had to put it near her face and she took a nibble and that was it. Pooping a little, but watery. pale comb and huge pupils.

we leave for disney in a few days so we may have to cull her before we go. Not the best news for the happiest place on earth is it... oh well, we have been up front with the kids from day one about animals life and death. Although this is the chicken that would hug my daughter by putting her head on her shoulder. Would get jealous when she petted other chickens and hop in her lap. Such a little lover.

Sorry to hear she isn't improving. Did you Check her good for lice and especially mites. Mites will cause her to become anemic. Keep giving the vitamins with electrolytes in it. Boiled eggs or scrambled eggs are good.

DH is readin the Shawno County Fair Book. Looking at all of the things he wants to enter.
Best breeding to female ???? LOL
Asked me if I want to do weiner judging ...... Only if they've showered first !!! lol

My last cup of coffee in hand. Ran out. Need to go to town !!!!! May as well do laundry today then too. Gotta have clean underwears when you're on the road !!! lol
BBP..... TG you family is ok.
Cind..... Bad news on the price. Did they give a written estimate? Maybe make some phone calls with that in hand.

Breakfast of Champions!!! Raisin toast with PB, a few slices of bacon and of course some Joe....

Just taking a moment before I round everything up and head over to the Park. I hope I am able to answer everyone's questions!!!

Cind, I had a slightly more 'modern' version of those skates.... and we did all the same things you mentioned. I love telling my kids about riding my bike when I was a kid too and all the stuff we did without helmets and padding all over us. Those accidents build character darn it!

I better get moving. Enjoy the day!
Good Luck Bl4 !!

I remember those skates !!! And cheap tennis shoes !!! Never could roller skate or ice skate well (and that was when I could wear a two two lol) Never could glide over the sidewalk cracks and it was the scariest think turning at the end of the driveway !!!! My sister and neighbor girl did good but they were 2 and 3 years older then me.
Good old days that's for sure. Really sucked when you lost the key to those things.

FT~your hubby is so fortunate to have you! Not everyone will stand up against the medical "machinery" and get answers. Good for you! Well, it wasn't great news but it might have been worse.

At least now you know what you are dealing with and that it's treatable and can move forward. I get the feeling you are the kind of gal that can face any kind of devil as long as you know what it's face looks like

. Hope you don't mind my putting you on my prayer list

x2 on those sentiments! And you are correct, Vicki. Frenchie would face the devil in a heartbeat, and then proceed to talk his arm off about chickens, ducks, geese, guineas, horses, pigs, goats, donkeys, etc.

And as for your frequent reminders about all the rain you've been blessed with (

Good Morning Everybody! Cind

If it's a shallow well using all new stuff would only be 3-$400 depending on depth. Deep well should ony be the cost of a pump. That just blows my tiny mind!

Cind, I know you said you don't know what the cost all includes, so maybe you should have them give you a written estimate so you do know. Are they going to have to break up your concrete in the washroom? Will you have to pay seperately to have that fixed? If so, maybe you should find out how much it is for a new well? Might be less hassle?

Judge, I hope you enjoy the rest of your eggs! Now you'll never go back to store bought. Do you have your chickens in a run or do they free range? If you have a run, you could kick the roos out to free range during the day & just let them back in to go roost. In the future. I see now that you don't have that problem anymore. Nevermind.

Yeesh, Cind! Do I ever remember those skates. Wheels of death is right!

DH & I were just talking about those things not long ago. Too funny!

BBP, so glad your family is safe!

FT, you crack me up!

Hello,
Selling a flock of 31 chickens.. They are production reds are majority, 2 buff orpintons 14weeks old, 1 barred rock, 1 black astrolop.. I am seeling these for free due to they have CORYZA.. its an upper respitory infection.. They still lay eggs and are all eating. They can be carriers of this disease and be fine once recovered in which they are.. I had my own flock and went to buy a couple more from else where and i bought infected birds which infected mine.. Since the birds are under 8 months old i have a hard time just killing them, but have new ones coming in september so i need to get rid of these.. if anyone is interesed plz email!!

this guy with the Coryza flock is kidding, right? Well, at least he's being honest about it, hope he stays that way. If he can't bring himself to cull them, he needs to hire someone if nothing else. The only person who would take these is someone who doesn't understand what they are getting into!

Really? Only 52 posts? Slackers!

And not a mention of where's bigfam? Fickle Farts! I am too tired to be especially annoying even in retaliation.

I EXPECT people to go and look at the mini bash link and post. Even if it's to post things like "heather you're so cool". Or "I live too far away to come that day". Or "bigfam you're the bomb". You know... Stuff like that...:D

Does anyone here do the poultry show in portage in September? I want to grow up and be like Terri and have trophies and ribbons, so I might take some birds over. I'm so excited to bathe chickens!!!

Short post for now. I have to get lunch for kiddos and kick them outside to play.
