Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hey, any of you guys want a purebred 2-year-old bicolor German Shepherd?
big_smile.png

He's not good with cats, chickens, ducks, or other dogs his own size - but he's a big sweetheart, thinks he's a lap dog, and hardly ever barks. My neighbor adopted him at my recommendation from the animal shelter I volunteer at (it's not every day a gorgeous, purebred, young Shepherd walks in as a stray!), and then decided he didn't have time for him...long story short, I ended up with him because I felt responsible...that was almost a year, an obedience course, and several private obedience sessions ago. He's just never going to get along with the rest of the critters in the house, and he's not getting the discipline a headstrong young Shepherd needs here in our house full of girls, but he's a really sweet dog. My 7-year-old sister can take food right out of his mouth. Plus, he knows all of his basic obedience commands. If any of you know someone looking for a Shepherd, let me know!

Oh - amyable, I got your message, I'm just waiting on a e-mail back from someone I found much closer to you who has the Mille Fleur D'Uccles.

And raimnel, thanks for the picture!

Well I guess DrH really did say his last post for the evening! I will check around for any homes for the shepherd Annarie...a purebred you think? And Fordmommy, how did you get those guys to do the wave? That was cool! Dont worry about the misspelling Raimnel--lived with it all my life; gave my daughter the "Y" in Eryn and I get the "I"! Everyone always messes it up! LOL! All pets are sleeping and I guess so must I. Kids are going out so I am going under--the covers that is! Goodnight! (PS) what about that hay.....HUH? Terri O

Yep, Terri - I took him to obedience training with Peter Williams in Baraboo, and he breeds shepherds. He LOVED this dog ("Theo" is the dogs name) and gave us some private training sessions for free - he's purebred but not well-bred

, moves like a shepherd, and an uncommon color (actually, the "bicolor" is common in working German lines, but you don't see it often here in the U.S.). He has one ear that doesn't stand up (vet thinks he was slammed in a car door as a pup, his tail was broken at one point too, it has a little "crink" in it) - it softens his appearance a little, makes him look less "scary shepherd":

I have some pictures:

I'm perfectly willing to drive him anyplace in the state to a good home - this dog is my buddy. It's funny, I sort of resent all the cats and ducks and the other dog because he doesn't get along with them.

Oh - one big vice though, he's leash-aggressive. If you walk him past another dog while he's on a leash, he goes ballistic snapping at them. It's just frustration, he's great with smaller dogs as long as he's off the leash.

We've been fostering for 3 years now, our youngest was around 2 years old when we started. It's taught the kids alot so far, sometimes we do have to remind them not to crowd the dog when it firsts come to our house. I know this is about chickens but here is a picture of her...

No, Dr H-"S" doesn't stand for that but thanks for that kind thought, in fact my dad has asked me many times if he should send me money so I can have my head examined

. As you might have noticed my kids left with a bunny from the chicken bash!

Well news is just about done and morning comes early...have a good night everyone!

Buck Creek Chickens makes it. She gave me a jar this spring but I still have to try it.

BTW.....she is doing fine. Her computer is still not working. She stopped by with the kids today on her way back from Stevens Point. She also had a tick from the party. A deer tick! She bought a few things from the rummage sale. Then another friend of mine stopped in for eggs and went through things. Her daughter is in my youngest's preschool class. Then another friend stopped in to drop off a few things and pick up a few things....

THEN....Babylady4 and her sister stopped to drop off a few things. Man! I am beat! People coming and going all day!

If anyone is in the Waupaca area tomorrow, feel free to stop in! There are 22 other rummage sales in Waupaca too!!!

Good morning all! TO be afraid be very very afraid! Don't blame you for disposing of the coons. If L is the one doing the laundry next time I'll have to accuse her of washing off the lettering on the shirt.

I'll be down to help with the hay right after I get done making wood should be there oh around supper time.

I always spray up my wood makin clothes for ticks seems to work. Too bad not so much for the deer flies. Going to drop, limb, drag out, and buck up 2 trees will wait to split till the weekend. Then mow the lawn again and weed the garden. Cute dogs! Always wanted a shepard but don't want the reponsibilty nor clean up. L made a pork roast with a rub last night along with sliced oven baked garlic potatoes. Ate way way too much. Gotta get the saws gassed up before it gets hot. Have a good one!

Going to be a tile maniac today! Attempting to get the bathroom and back hall finished before 1:30...

I want it done TODAY so I can grout tomorrow and get the sealing finished on Sunday night!

Dr. H, I have a picture in the works for you....... it might be a bit before it gets up here though, so when you least expect it; WHAMMO!

Off for java and then get to work!

H&R--do I sense interest or sarcasm in that post??? Sometimes it is pretty hard to tell on this board!

We are unloading as soon as DD wakes up. She wasnt out too late so probably about 10:00--I will call you...

No coons in the traps or in the poison last night...I know that there are still a ton out there since I have the river nearly in my backyard! Sometimes it is closer rather than farther too. Like 2 years ago I thought it was going to get all the way up to the pasture. That is when Jefferson was under water. Bad time for those folks!

All the inside creatures are all fed and are presently napping. Soon it is time to go out and get the outside done. The breeze is still cool coming through the window...maybe I will lick out and the humidity wont skyrocket? I am terrible with humidity! Makes me REALLY crabby.

DrH--leftover spaghetti for dinner tonight...my sone made it yesterday for lunch! He was ticked that we didnt have any tomato paste...I dont normally use it--too bad, go to the store! So you are welcome to stop in...I will save a couple of bales for you to toss! I plugged in the elevator last night and it works! So that will be a big help. Gotta get to it. Everyone stay safe dropping trees and doing rummage sales...those ladies can get wicked bartering for things ya know
rant.gif

FM--your Salm. Fav. roo is doing great! He loves it in the basement with the babies!
BCC--the quail makes neat noises...at first I thought one of my turkey poults was out...then I realized who it was. Only problem is that he likes to make his noises in the middle of the night!

Had to jump on here behind TO! Well you blew it TO. Had leftover puscetti yesterday for lunch and the last is slated for today. Short morning in the woods. Gassed up the saws and found the battery was low on the tractor so threw the charger on it and went out and dropped 3 trees. Came back fired it up and then it ran out of gas. Gassed it up and then procceded to drag them out. On a return trip clipped a stump root hiding in the weeds and bent the bottom right corner of the blade. It can be straightened with some heat and a BFH but the thing is I was going to take to a friend of mines to weld a piece of heavy duty angle iron on the bottom to keep it from doing exactly that. Killed the tractor pulling the last tree into place and of course it wouldn't start and too many trees laying there to get to it to jump it. So out came the battery which is a real pain, it's between the gas tank and the dash board. Another thing on the list is to mount it outside the body for easier access. By then I couldn't see out of my glasses and I was mad. Figure enough tree stuff for the day. Just walk away! Usually wait for L to go to work before getting too serious outside but with summer here think I'll leave her a note and jump on it right away. Have been tossing a saw around my whole life and haven't had any real bad experiences now take the cell with me just in case.

Oh BL4 sounds like I did it now. But I like surprises! I can take it so when it's ready go ahead go for it. All the kids are really going through the water! The SLW's got cut loose in the coop and run again. Didn't hesitate at all today. Bob and Taz Devil tanning together.

Power went out last night at some point - woke up and checked on all the baby birds, all the clocks in the house were blinking and the heat lamp over the newly hatched, day-old Runners was off! It was a new bulb AND plugged into a surge strip, so I'm not sure if it was the power blinking on and off that blew the bulb or if it was a bad bulb to begin with. Should have had a backup I guess. The ducklings were fine though - I had about three seconds of sheer panic before I got a different lamp on them and they all looked up at me like "Hey, we were sleeping!".

Here are the new Runner babies - only 2 more hatches left this year, 'cause mamma Runner decided she's tired of laying and I haven't seen an egg from her for a week now. I needed to stop anyways

The brooder is a nasty mess in this picture, but here's a new one of the three Call ducklings and my Runner that hatched solo:
