Well, the BF shot an 8 pt buck around 6:30 so right at the cusp of quitting time. Clean shot through the chest cavity.

Cheesecake is finished baking, now it is cooling in the oven (prevents cracking). Managed to give DH a buzz cut too.

Time for bed.

He took 2 lavender x gold laced orpington hens. And a rooster that looked exactly like my Iowa Blue. So I'm at 56 chickens, only about 35 need to go. Lol

I have tomorrow to pack. That's it! No getting around it now. I think I'm on the upswing here. I came home from school and errands this morning and had to go back to bed. But since then I've felt more human again. I got a couple loads folded and put away. But in the process of putting kids clothes away, I had to clean their room!! That is NOT the wild hair I wanted to get up my bum. But I started in the closet, digging out all the socks and underwear they had stashed all places. Then I looked under dressers. Then I looked under beds. I just kept finding more and more clothes, and more and more mess. So I shovelled (literally) the piles of junk,legos, and trash into the middle of the room. I changed sheets, made the beds, and cleaned out drawers of things that didn't belong there. Crapola! The room looks fanfreakingtastic! But that doesn't help with the dam packing.

I'm heading to bed early-ish so I can hopefully get a good nights sleep and get an early start on tomorrow. Sigh... I just know I'll be up late late tomorrow night...

good PM., I hope Adam's finger gets better real soon.. tell him not to worry about the tractor.. I can put heat into the garage real easy,, well.. maybe not so easy.. I have to dig out the wood stove.. It is buried under a huge pile of kindling wood.. at least we have plenty of wood to burn..

I stopped at F&F and picked up a pack of wire ends.. got home and discovered that half of them in the pack were not what I needed.. However, If I don't screw up any of the connections, I will have enough of them..

Now I am feeling confident enough to try to fix the wiring on my Farmal A..

I had one hit each about my turkey hens and cockatiels.. did I tell you that the cockatiels have 5 babies they are raising ? those birds are baby machines !!!!!!!!!!!! and now they are doing the mating exercise already.. It drives Annie nuts..

and now one of the parakeets laid an egg..

Off to the rat race again. Feeling a little bit better but my throat is complaining from all the gravel I hacked up yesterday. Heading in a little early so I can pick up more cough and Vit C drops. My stash at work has been depleted....

BigFam, you slow down a bit.... stop doing all the extra while you are sick! Just pack... and then put your feet up!

And your supposed to put the wood in the stove not on the stove. lilie that really sucks about the coop think if he doesn't make things right I'd post a letter in the local paper and contact the better business bureau. You spent good money for an inferior product.. Hope it all works out! TO sounds like Commander is healing

What in the world are you going to do with all those chicks? Hope RR shows up soon! Bf4me glad to hear your feeling better but think your going to be in the hospital by the time you get back from your trip.

GR65 hope Adams thumb heals up so you can go riding before it's too late! BBP glad you sold some birds sounds like you have a ways to go. After getting one egg everyother day with the narrow end cracked it finally came to me what was happening. I've got a squatter. Apparently she doesn't sit all the way down when she lays and the egg hits the wood on the bottom of the nest box.

When I add more straw they just kick it out. Maybe rubber mats.

Am very happy with the current production! Went out and picked all the peppers yesterday the frost has killed all the plants except for the broc, lettuces, and cabbage. I didn't pull all the cuke vines and now have 4 empty qt jars. Think I'll check and see if there's enough cukes to make some more B&B pickles.

Feels like a good morning for a small fire. Sorry Bl4 didn't mean to leave you out. Glad to hear your feeling better too!

And BL4... After coughing up a lung or two, I think they grow back. So no worries! And it was Selma, Marge Simpsons sister who sounded like gravel. Marge was just pure and sweet like yyyoooouuuuuuuuuuuuuu....

Thanks for the kind words. We are enjoying the chickens immensely! They provide a ton of entertainment and we haven't bought eggs in about a month. I think the things that the coop needs to have fixed are very doable by us, but I'm just frustrated that we have to do it. The biggest problem is that the roof was built without an overhang and so the rain runs right in. It's a "shed roof" - high on one side, and the coop is 4 x 6. Not only does it not have an overhang, but there is no drip edge. The vents run right under the roof edge, allowing the rain in if we leave them open. The coop is really cute, so we're trying not to ruin it with our fixes!

Rainy Morning all!
Other then the rain, it's that same ol' thing here! Got the rabbits cleaned and fed. I need to replace a leaky water bottle-again. The chickerdoodles are good. Oh! Oops! I should open their run door-....I'll wait till the rain passes I think.
Anyway, just doing laundry and then I have to go scare up Midges paperwork and get a carrier cleaned for her.

BBP-Paint Filly names...hmmmmm.... Annie Oakely Sedona (was that said yet?) Abilene, Calico (there is a ghost town in Cali called Calico-kinda cool for a paint horse too!), Aurora (not super western-y but I think of the Alaska frontier comes to mind!), Shasta, Sequoia (was that said?) Bodie (more guy then girl though-but I live the name!), Jessamine, Clementine, Susannah, Cassidy, Maise, Sage, and Willa. I'd have to think of more....

Well, I'm sure there is more but I have to get my butt moving. Don't really want to now that I sat down, but there you have it!

Good AM, spent all morning in town and at F&F.. had to go to the service counter at F&F.. just my luck of the draw to get the stupidest girl in the store.. couldn;t do calculations on a calculator.. I did them faster in my head..I had credit coming back,, she came up with I owed $21.oo !!!

Mel, do you think it is the water ?? maybe I should give up beer and wine and drink the water , eh?? maybe encourage Annie to do the same ...

I just had a call for a turkey hen.. and a peahen.. sorry, I am not letting my peahens go just yet..

I talked to a couple of guys about how to hook up my temp gauge on the tractor.. I kind of thought there was a fitting for the radiator hose.. One of the guys gave me the name to look up on the net. things are looking up in that dept..
