Vicki-That sign is awesome!! DH had seen but I have not! So per Uncle Sam I am doing my American Duty by keeping hens...LOL!

Well, getting ready for bed since I have to get up early tomorrow to get all the critters taken care if before we have to drive to Portage.

Dan-we should be there around 9 - 9:30. Not sure if DH is setting up a table or not though.

Flying is a breeze just sleep...that's what I did until the plane was ready to land and the captain was on the horn announcing stuff.......

Jim.Glad the tractor is wired, what did ya find out about the temp gauge? Hope the lady comes to buy Turkey's and Chickens, I would hate to see so many nice little pullets go in the freezer. I sold 1 roo and 6 hens tonight 3 layers, Miss Prissy the White Rock, Princess also a WR, Jasmine a speckled sussex, Snow ball the White Wyandoote, and 3 babies, and my wonderful White Wyandotte rooster Fred, so glad he is gone to a good home, where he can be a rooster and have some ladies of his own.......... I even kissed him goodbye, though I got a pretty strange look from the buyer, I said well I love my chickens............. hehehe, also sure could use the less feed bill plus the 50 bucks I got for them.
Anyway I had another busy day, did chores, got my shower, and road to town with the neighbor, to halp her at her shop b4 there trip, and then went to Jodi's to open her shop at noon. Closed at 4pm then vacuumed and shampooed her carpets for her, got home about 6.30, made supper sold the chickens, and ate my cold supper, took the boys out for a walk then let them in to play with Leo, back out and then I am here, It's been a very tiring day............. so if I'm rambling ya know why.......

What a CUTE LITTLE COCHIN PULLET.......so pretty.....I read Cochins can not breed naturally how did you get her? or did ya order her?
Anyway too tired to type anymore, plus I have to do 2 graffics for tats that are scheduled for Tuesday, so night all .........talk to you all soon, when I ain't quite so tired. Kim

What?! You better tell my cochins about not breeding naturally because they sure do it a lot! One of my hens is missing again and I'm sure will reappear with little ones in tow soon.
FYI: she's a splash, but someone insists on calling her mottled. Lol

Better go. Did I happen to mention I'm rather afraid to fly? I have meds to take to calm me down, but do tend to flake out a bit. Any prayers for safe traveling and peaceful thoughts would REALLY be appreciated...

Good luck on that plane trip. You, 5 young boys & a panic attack about flying. Oh, I would either love or hate to be there to see that one!

Vicki, I've seen that before too. I remember reading the whole thing to DH. It is pretty long. I just wish I could remember where I saw it. Yikes!

Computer has been acting up again.

Had a nice long post night before last and the D@mn thing froze on me! Then it wouldn't even reboot decent. Got to figure out how to get the cash for a new one I guess

Good Flight Bf4m!!!

Well, someone is coming Tue. (if all goes well) to help butcher! I'm sure the hens will be happy to see a bunch of roos go! Rose probably never wants to see another roo the rest of her life! She's the one that had the badly dislocated hip a couple of months back (but she's better now). Last night when closing up I noticed 2 roos had her pinned and when she got up I noticed her side was ripped open!!! A gash just threw the skin over 4" long on a curve. The flesh seems fine. I cleaned her up and disinfected it and vet taped gaze over it. In a little bit I'm go to go see if I can super glue it together. *sigh* poor Rose. She's in the house.

Sometime over the weekend I'm getting 6 to 8 turkeys! Remember in the spring we were going to split an order with someone but 1/2 died in shipping? Well these are the survivors! Guess the neighbors were complaining. So .... more to find room for! I'll probably keep a trio and butcher the rest.

A few nights ago something scared the Guinea that was nesting off and an egg shell was laying there. I was hoping she would go back but she didn't so after 4 hours I put the eggs in the bator. *sigh* Tonight none of the adults came to roost!

The Dom rooster has adopted the keets the hen hatched! So cute! Last night at roost time one of the keets went in the next room and got "lost" and he came running in to retrieve it. Good daddy!

Going to a grandsons birthday party tomorrow so I better finish getting things done! Sorry I didn't respond .... way too much!

Good Blustery Morning All! Wood stove is gonna feel good today. Bf4me hope your whole trip is uneventful! Anyone know what's up with FT? tiki? Probably in the hoosegow. Bigz we had FFFNS. Fish Fry Friday Nacho's Supreme.

Cind hope Rose heals up OK! Yup time for the roo's to go. CC I want babies now....... Hope someone finds out where that poster is from Vic I'd like to read the whole thing. Got a real nice surprise yesterday at the VA. Went for my eye exam and the gal says lets go down here and pick out your glasses. I was told that all they did was the exam but I can get new glasses every 2 years if needed.

The kids are out playing in the puddles. They sure like drinking rain water. Better than the well water I guess. Heading out with Bryan and his DD this morning to go fetch the dead cow. After carefully rearranging the freezers think there's enough room now. Today feels like a good day to throw another log on and take a nap.

blustery,,,yeah that's a word,,,,but it's dam n cold in the north country,,,spitting white stuff just to let us know what's coming 40% chance of sun today

6:45am DD yelled "there's a coyote dad",,,,long shot for a .22 but I threw some lead anyway,,,hope to have scared it enough to keep it out in the back forty...coyote 1 Dan 0 at this point

doesn't help there is at least one wounded deer in the area,,,neighbor spent the day looking for one of the smaller bucks yesterday,,,it happens but it still pi$$es me off

some time in the gh today,,,and still working on the big coop,,,I picked up 2 more used storm doors for separating the new housing

harvested my onions yesterday and have them drying on bench in the gh,,,planted late and they weren't finished when this rain started hopefully this works,,,,over 1/2 are softball size I'll use the same method and plant earlier next year

might change my mind on work and fill an Ag tag or 2 while the temps are right,,
