Was just about done when the bugs started to dry off. We get this hot spell and then rain that'll turn those berries. If those berries are an inch long and cylindrical they might be boysen berries. Mater garden comin up.

Hi all! Getting ready to go up to Rhinelander. Taking a break to type. Should have been gone by now put DH had so "unsexpected" work come up. Long story. Let's just say I'm not to happy waiting till noon to go. Oh well we will get there. I'm worring over my chickens this weekend. All of my normal pet sitters are gone this weekend so I have another friend coming but she can only come on Sunday. Hopefully everyone will be fine. I got everything set up for them to be by themselves for 2 days, but I'll still worry.
BBCB- Glad to hear from you! Sorry about your chickens. I would have a hard time restraining myself if I would have been there too. So I understand. Glad for the dog you weren't there. Are you still looking for a job? Were my BIL works I think they are hiring. They will work you like a dog and It's not fun, but it pays ok. I'll check with him this weekend and get back to you. The place is in Grafton, so close to you. If you are still looking, I'll get you details too.
BL4 isn't that how it always works. I hate we you are on a roll and something goes wrong. Always happens to us too.

I have blackberries ripening too. I actually didn't know we had them until this year. I was slacking on the weedeating and saw them in an area that I always hit. DH said they have always been there. How have I not noticed before?

Well that area won't be getting weedeaten until they are done. I love blackberries. I haven't told any of the kids either, I'm selfish and keeping them all to myself.

I went out last night and picked another quart or so of blackberries. Believe me, I gave back to the earth with losing about that much in blood to the skeeters. Ugh!

So, ripped out my tomatillo plant today. Lo and behold, I found out that you need 2 of these plants to pollinate, and well I only had one. SIGH. Oh well, make a note in my next year's garden that I want 2-4 of these anyways. That's okay, I need to move around the garden a lot. My eggplant is getting eaten by my squash, so now I can move it back and let it breathe. Then I need to move my bush cucumbers so they get more sun, and my two tomato plants so they get more sun. I got these right before the big storm, and chucked them in the ground anywhere I saw just to get them in. Now that we are finally dry, been waiting for a day to do it. Tonights the night!

Well once I had off DS to my BF for the a day at the zoo, heading over to our babysitters to mow the back pasture! First time in a lawn tractor, DH laughed at me and told me take photos

maybe it's something i'm missing. Oh well!

Yeah, Yeah--they act like working those machines is brain surgery I swear! Nothing to it I say. I DO NOT ride the mower though...then it would just become one more of my jobs! I leave it to the others in the house. Tonight I am making the time-line for our 4H group IF the other person working on details gets me some info! I called her again today. The fair is next week and we are decorating on Monday after judging! I am starting to panic.

Some person was supposed to come and buy all of my Muskovy ducklings this morning and never showed up! That just frosts me! My neighbor is taking the 5 just hatched and I have 3 more on nests yet; one on her second clutch! That would be Frankie...the ducklings I showed you now have all white fronts and I believe their wings are black. To early yet to tell if the rest of the feathers will be black or brown.
My turkeys all of a sudden have a growth spurt! Both Dh and I noticed this morning. I bet it is because they have been outside for a week now and the sun helps them grow! Maybe I will get those guineas out this weekend...only problem is that they get through all but the smallest mesh...I guess I could line the cyclone fencing with chicken wire...so much work!

You reminded me Raiquee about tomatillos! I grew them last year and had about 80 pounds of them! I hope that there are some volunteers out there...I didnt find any in the stores this year to plant. I just love to eat them warm from the garden. How do you do yours (if you have a pollinator?)

I guess I didnt know that either--I just never seem to plant one of ANYTHING!

OK--break over. I have to add some sweet potatoes to the pork roast on the grill! MMMMMM! TErri O

We are headed to Bay Beach tomorrow. This will be my first time ever too.

Kool Aide Queen...I told my DH about what you paid for the tire being plugged and all that and this is what he did.....

He works on cars on the side and does tires and stuff too. He just couldn't believe that! He has his own tire changer and balancer and stuff. (Lots of stuff) Crazy. Too bad you live an hour from me.

ok have a ??? for you all was listening to the radio and they were intervieing a gal who had just won some states miss whatever state she was in ... anyways she said she will be competing to miss america in january with the other 52 gals ... uuuummmmmm when did we get 3 new state and where are they???? i was sure we only had 50 so whats up with that???


oh and fordmama if ya ever go thru ripon and need a plug in your tire do not go to GOODYEAR.... i have the bill to prove it


well gotta go have to work very early tomarrow am and i think i just heard thunder so that means shutting down the computer

Well--Puerto Rico and District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands; they are organized territories of the US...maybe that is it? (I had to look it up) Makes sense to me--I guess!

Just finished with some stuff and now I am going off to bed after I check yet more dates for our time-line...I am so glad that it is dd18s last year next year--IF she decides to show at all....

TO, somewhere in time this thing called butchering was invented.....

that's we're most of them are going. but shhhh don't tell my mom. (she's the one that through a fit cause we butchered the roo that attacked my DD.)

ok what is this about the tomatillos?? I bought 1 plant and it has tomatillos on it? Im wondering if it did it's "thing" before I got it?! cause the tomatillos were already there but there are more!!

I better get something out of it. and the dude that sold us it sisn't say ANYTHING about needing 2 plants.
