Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good morning friends! I have to head back to work soon...had one client early and then one for lunch time. Then I need to stop at the mill AGAIN...I think I go there three times a week! I dont like to carry too much more than 400 pounds in the back of my little car!

Our Thanksgiving was great--went to my brothers house in Muskego. SIL's turkey was excellent as usual. I brought along deviled eggs and a pumpkin spice cake. My parents were there and my Aunt (dad's sister)and my brother and fam from Appleton. SIL's Mother came too. We had 18 for dinner! My other brother and his family dont come (they live in Florida) and have a celebration with others in the same boat in their neighborhood. SIL make squash soup that was GF and she was careful with everything else so the only thing I couldnt eat was the stuffing and the rolls! My Aunt even brought green bean casserole made with GF mushroom soup! I will say that the piece of pumpkin cake I had this morning with coffee was better than the piece I had after dinner yesterday! I must have to be slightly hungry to enjoy cake...I sure wasnt after that dinner!

DD20 did the watering yesterday and didnt stretch the hose out and downhil...I believe it is frozen today! I didnt try to water today yet...it is still about 22 here! BBBRRRRR! Maybe when I get back it will have warmed a bit? Thank goodness everyone still has wate. I am planning on donning my coveralls for chores later this afternoon--then I will haul the hose down into the well pit so it can thaw if it hasnt already.

Sorry to hear of the folks who didnt have there T-dinner on the "day" but like someone else said you can have it any day you want to! When I was a kid my Dad was out of town one Thanksgiving and we just had it the following weekend! I remember going to school with sandwiches and the kids saying, "you STILL have turkey?" THey thought it was cool that we had another Thanksgiving! I think on "the day" my Mom made one of those pressed turkey white/dark OnCor roasts with mashed potatoes. We wondered how "they" got the white and dark meat combined...silly kids!

So I guess I'd better get myself off to my client's place...I am glad the direct road there is open again. It was so long having to drive way around to get there! Stay warm everyone! Eat some LOs for me...that is the one bad thing about going away...no left overs!

Have a good one! TerriOheadingtoworkcausesomebodyhasto

this is the 2 year old peacock.. just grew a new fan.. not as big as the 5 year old's tail, but it did attract a female..

that contraption to the left of the peacock is my scalder and the black drum with the motor is the feather plucker that I built..

click on the picture for a closer look..

somebody forgot to drain the hose yesterday.. froze up tight today..

I went to Menard's and picked up some batteries and 2 dog beds.. also got 6 springs for the rack hold downs on the trailer..

I was looking for a cover for our Ham Beach 24 slow cooker.. not any luck for replacement parts.. I will go at it again in a little while..

Morning again,
gosh it is cold out side, Ran to Ace and got dog food. Target and shopko looked empty. Saw a cute kitten on Craigslist but with 5 dogs, 2 cats, chickens, birds and fish I better not. They boys say go ahead but I am the one taking care of them,

Does anyone know what the outlet that turns off at 40 degrees is called. I asked about it at Ace, they just stared at me. Where did you guys get yours and do they work

thanks

David

David, I have two of them ,, they do work.. I got mine at Menard's.. It was in the plumbing supplies / dept .. IDK why it was there and not in the electrical dept.. that is Menard's way.. I believe one costs about $10.oo.. Not all of the people at Menard's will know what you are looking for,, just keep asking different people until you find one who knows..

I believe the thing to ask for is a Thermo Plug....

All you GF peoples, I have made the GF pie crust, I will be baking it tomorrow and I will give you a report when I can. I could not find potato starch (they were out at Woodman's) so I substituted more of the tapioca starch. All of the rice flours you would use for this recipe are in the Oriental foods isle at Woodman's. The only thing you would need to go looking for would be the potato starch.

Broken glass torte was a hit with the little kids, turkey was fantastic, pies were great, everyone was stuffed silly, and I ended up with a sinus headache from he!!...... Today I made buttermilk pancakes for everyone and of course we had bacon, sausage, american fries, coffee, OJ, smoked salmon....... stuffed again. Tonight we are going Irish! Corned beef with boiled potatoes, cabbage and carrots, and both dark and light rye breads. I will be going back to my running on Saturday.......

Right now I am vegging out for a while. Beef is on the stove and I have nothing to do but relax...... no shopping for me right now, time to recharge the batteries.

Windy Day To All.... glad to hear everyone had a great turkey day. We had fresh venzun burgers on the grill with grilled onions. Was a great meal on one of the last nice days for grillin we will prolly see for awhile.

Great job on the trailer and doghouse Jim. Nice pics thanks for sharing.

Weighed all the meat from the last buck...ended up with 45lbs of burger and 32lbs of steak, roast and loins. Most run a little smaller for sure. It was a shame to toss the bones in the woods Hurley. When i had a dog, they sure enjoyed the harvest too.

If I hear of any hay, I'll let you know frenchie. Still lookin for you.

Still tying to figure out what's up for FFF today? Prolly baked fish and baked spuds tonight. Aint no outside cookin tonight.

Stay Safe.... bigz

It's called a thermocube. They are in the plumbing section at Menards. About $11-$12. They cost more at Fleet Farm. Don't let Menards tell you they don'g have them if you ask. I've seen them.
There sure are tons of kittens on CL lately. Must be an explosion !!! I keep threatening to get my little Halo Kitty a orange or black and white friend... DH ET says I scare him when I talk like that.
Now I have to drive all the way to town to make a deposit. ET went and bought Chew and I had told him not to use the tyme card cause the guy didn't cash the hay check yet.... He listens so well !!!!! NOT
Oh, Bigz, ET wants to know how big that deer was. I forgot already.

Sure wish I had a few more bucks. Saw some Christmas presents I'd like to buy (for myself too lol) but having to spend a few hundred more per month on hay sure will be putting a damper on my shopping...... Crap.... I'm having shopping withdrawals !!

Just had the scare of my life. We dropped off something at the cabin in Monico on Wednesday with the truck but needed to get to Wausau so I met ET there with the van. We left the truck at the cabin but got back to late. Needless to say it's still there. Got a call from the 90 yr old neighbor 10 minutes ago (who is a very nice guy but is Mr Busy Body). He said the cops just towed it away !!! He said he didn't know who's truck it was.. I was livid !!!!!!! Then he said no, I was just kidding with ya !!!! He called my BIL and my BIL told him to pull that one on me !!! LOL
Al is one sharp old fellow. His memory is better then mine and ET's put together !!! I have a 91 yr old Uncle the same way (My blood Aunts hubby so not in my blood :(
What gives with all these old folks being so sharp... Must be all of that depression food they complained about eating that was actually good for them. They didn't have hostess twinkies or HoHo's !!!!
Ok, now I had better drop ET off to get the truck before it is towed !!!! Woudn't mind if it was stolen though.... LOL and never returned.....Might get the insurance to find us one without all the dings ET managed to put on it backing up the horse trailer !!! lol
OK, later all. Hope the roads are ok. Still snowing.
