vicki... I still have lots of family up in the "North woods". My Bio dad is still up there and my uncle and aunt had a logging business up there for years! They are all around the Cable and north area. I don't think any of them came from the south thou.

FT.... Didn't think you were putting all the chips down the toilet.... but, as you know now, even the ones that get in the water are a no,no!

BTW.... that goes for straw too! The rule in our house was "If you can't eat it, drink it, or swallow it whole, it don't go!"

Well, 1 kitty almost got a home... one of Young son's friends took it home but dad said absolutely NO! so she came back after a 6 hour adventure. So 2 kitties still need a home.

Thanks for the idea to check out craigslist. Really just looking for some pretty guppies for the boys to watch. I know they aren't the most fancy fish to buy, but I've always loved them and love to have a self-replenishing variety. Had a tank in the past that did really well, but had to give them away when I moved as I've had bad luck trying to transport fish across states. Anyway, may have found someone with some nice fish, we'll see if they contact me back.

Poor little TT (DS2), think he's hit every room of the house and every possible surface tonight. Been throwing up and blowing past diapers all night. Sigh. At least he doesn't feel too bad, but just feel so bad when wee'ens are sick.

Holy crow, how did it get to be 2 in the morning? Going to bed.

Morning all,

I got a phone call last night at 12:30, my son was coming home from work, hit an ice patch and flipped his car. Talking about your heart stopping. He was uninjured thank god but I took him to the emergency ward just to be sure. He is fine, just shaken up. It looks like his car is totaled, The bad thing about living in the country, is we have deep ditches so flipping a car happens. Bad thing is he only has liability insurance, so he without a car and without insurance money. I am just happy he is ok. Looks like Dad is going to have to help him out. Hopefully we can find something used, driveable and safe. There goes the nest egg. He is pretty shaken up but Keep telling him, He is alive and that is what matters.

Yeah Kris,, no more do-nuts, bananas , or anything good to eat.. even concentrated orange juice is out.. and I drink that stuff like water.. my diet prefers butter over margarine,, I always used butter anyhow.. no whole wheat bread or pasta.. I can do that easily.. hey , I should go GF , eh?

green tea is supposed to be a belly fat burner.. I can do that easily, too.. I like tea.. I am down to one cuppa a day, so I can wean myself off of coffee too.. when we used to go to Fla, I never drank coffee down there..

I should go back to work. I mean the real job kind of work.. I had plenty of exercise then..

Dr laughed at me when I put my shirts back on.. He said," see? you are puffing hard, just putting your shirt on."

I have some pick up to do in the yard before everything gets snowed on and frozen to the ground.. I hope Ollie gets back real soon.. that bucket always helps for hauling stuff around..

I still have to give the coops a good cleaning and put fresh wood chips in.. and then I have to find a load of straw or old hay for building the wind break for the geese ..

the geese have switched bedding down in the main chicken coop to the big lean to.. IDK why..
I don't care either,, as long as they go in at night.. I still have to train the young flock of turkeys to give up their tree roost and go in somewhere at night..

those four young chicks that were hatched out a few weeks ago are not growing.. they all look like mature chickens, but they are only bantam sized.. WTH ? maybe growing up in the colder time of the year has just slowed them down,, ??

Got 5 eggs yesterday man they sure are unpredictable this time of year. After watching the kids rough house yesterday thought of changing their names to Scratch and Dent.

Yup Cindy she's doing a good job of Buttering. Sleeping behind me right now. She loves to give kisses. Laura has figured out another training thing. She now says I'll get the dishes tomorrow when I get home.

I hate doing dishes but also hate seeing them stacked up. Gotta let the kids out, get some B'fast, and do dishes.

Oh David, how horrible! I am so glad he is uninjured. Sounds scary for sure. One good thing, though, is I am sure he will be much more careful in the future. Very hard to do when it comes to black ice, or ice in general. I hope your car search goes well & won't break the bank.

Jim, the last 2 batches of chicks I just hatched out seemed to have a short delay in growth, but then they start up again.

Oh yeah. Vick, my grandmother came from County Cork too. No family from up nort though.

David, glad your boy is OK. When things like that happen it sure puts things in prospective.
My daughter just had a hit and run by a drunk driver a few days ago. Pretty scary stuff. She is OK, mostly minor injury's and the other driver was arrested.
