Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

OK breeder folks..since Gold Laced Wandotties(SP) were developed in Wisconsin by a woman, someone must know someone who has some show quality or APIA quality birds..I would like to find a nice trio

Ground was frozen this AM. All hard like tundra and 27 degrees (which I am sure is warmer than some of you).

The girls are still producing an egg a day and refuse to go into the coop. They are still perching on the ladder in the run. The run is closed up at night, but still! They'll either figure it out or die, right?

Emailed a bid to our landlord last night. He has already responded and will talk to his people and keep us posted. I talked with my dad last night also and it sounds like he is ready to move. He is fixing up some visual things on his house and waiting for spring to come around to place the house on the market.

Now that we are talking about buying the house, I am walking around thinking of things that I can do to it!!! This process will get expensive, but it'll be fun!

I hope that you all are keeping warm!

Morning all........... having a bad day here today, wanted to go get the Horsey, but trailer trouble no lights.......... argggggg so wondering if anyone on here with a horse trailer is out near Amherst? could use a hand with some delivery business..............
anyway its pretty cold here this am, about frowze my fingers off doing chores and changing waters......... but everyone is fat happy and sassy this am, the brumbies have been playing in the snow, the puppies are also, the chickens refuse to come any farther than the plowed part of the driveway...........LOL guess they ain't so crazy about snow...........hope they get over it seeing as how winter is just starting, they are gonna make a huge mess of my barn if they stay inside most of the winter. Silly girls........
Well Adam is back @ the Wolding yard, doing the last of his paperwork, insurance stuff, gas cards, quick pass for the toll booths ect. hopefully today he can bring the truck home and get it all ready to head out, tomorrow or Friday..........so anyway not much else to report around here.
Hope DrH's ma is better today, sending some prayers for them all............ :fl :hugs

Here I am in the afternoon again...all "the daytime usuals" must nap at this time! LOL! So getting ready to make the egg foo yung that didnt happen last night. I have to head to Sun Prairie to pick up the cat I had neutered today. Nice special...$25 including a rabies shot, flea, tick and worm medicine, an earmite check and a nail trim! He is probably joining the gen pop in the house but I wanted to be in on all this special stuff they do for barn cats. So he got the works.

THey finally picked up the 65' lift from the chimney repair. I was beginning to think that they gave it to us. The yard looks REALLY empty. You know they finally made and hooked up the cold air returns...(DH put the furnace in and never did it) and it seems colder in here than it did before! They guy said it would seem warmer...might be time to try out the woodstove; my feet are freezing!

I have been feeding my new meaties the fermented food. It gets so "fluffy" during it's fermenting time. Maybe because I started out with the LO beer/grains from DH's homebrew!! Smells a little less like beer every time. I added some Bragg's too for good measure. They are happy chickens. Talked with Vicki a bit today. They are making such a mess in there because they like to walk IN the food. She gave me a few hints that I am going to try out tomorrow. Speaking of: guess I better get out and give them their afternoon food. (and everyone else too)

Later all! TerriOwishingshecouldnap

Hi ALL, bro came and we got the loader frame on.. took about two hours.. I got Ollie backed into the garage all lined up to take the radiator off and start putting the pump pieces together.. this should take about two days..

I took pictures of Ollie before putting the loader on..

my choke cable still freezes up despite being new, and sheathed in plastic tubing.. and my transmission was frozen too.. I think there must be some moisture in the oil ??

I took a short nap after Dave left.. I had to, couldn't stay awake.. working out in the cold and then coming into the warm house always does that to me...

not the best pictures,,it was cloudy out, but the flash didn't go off..

the next pictures will be Ollie all put back together ......

Oh TerriO,, I had the oatmeal already made and didn't want to waste it.. just raisins in it.. and a little sugar......

I was wondering if we had egg eaters too! We have 17 chickens and are getting anywhere from 3-5 eggs a day now...
I have 18 hens and I'm only getting 4 to 7 eggs a day, and I don't think I have any egg eaters. I think it is just the change in temps and the lack of sun lately, plus the decreased number of daylight hours. In the summer, my girls would hit the roost around 8pm. Now they are roosting by 4pm.

DDiva, how old are your hens? Do they free range?

Jim, I'll bet all of Terri's dogs would just LOVE that idea of waterproofing her boots with that duck lard!

Nice pics of Ollie. Very festive looking tractor.

Ghost, I'm glad Adam is finally home & will have his own ride now.

Delish, have you tried the breeding section on BYC?

cs, your dad shouldn't wait until spring. At the absolute latest, he should try to have it on the market by March.

Terri, this cat you took to the vet, was it the black & white one you found outside? You're as bad as me, woman!

Ramses is a tiny bit better today. He has been eating little bits of food here and there, so that is an improvement. He still looks like heck, though. Thank you all for all the well wishes.

Quote: I think TerriO ..sort of gives a new meaning to "licking ones boots" . they used to hang a pork chop around her neck so that the dogs would play with her..

this is for people who do not know : if you click on small pictures posted, they will increase in size on your screen.. you have to do each one individually..

quiet so far tonight.. I have already played all the free cell I can stand so I am gone for awhile.

OK...this is uncalled for! What have I ever done to YOU??? I WAS going to say "nice tractor" Ollie "has a nice paint job." Now I read THIS????
**sigh** and after I give you my recipe for egg foo yung. Lately a woman cant win here can she? Rally with me girls!!!!

OK--here is my son. He decided that cats make great arm warmers while watching TV!

And here is the Egg Foo Yung dinner that was fantastic! I used LO duck, mushrooms, sugar snap peas and carrots in the mix. Also made salad and blackberry jello. It was delish!

BL4--thanks for that link! I had no idea that I had GOURMET fat on my hands! (and Jim thinks I should put it on my boots!) Sheesh--I think I would have no boots left! So I tried using it on my beans ans rice today at lunch and I found it too strong. I am going to try it on popcorn tonight, we all KNOW I am a popcorn conosuier,(can anyone spell that? my spell check keeps saying "consumer" every way I try!) and then I will make my decision if it gets to take up space in my freezer.

Well now I have forgotten everything I was going to say...oh well, tomorrow is another day I guess. MXM is coming over for coffee and to help me get dust out of here...I hope she brings a dust mask for both of us!
