Well we got the little truck unstuck from the snow, I drove it to the barn to feed the horses, I didn't bring my sled (I use it to put a new bale of hay on to go from the barn to the paddock, they are on opposite sides of the farm). So I carried enough flakes to feed the horses, got them taken care of so I had parked at the top of the driveway to ensure I could get out..
NOPE!! zip zero NADA!
So I figured I would be smart and drive down and get enough speed to get out the other driveway, yes it was "plowed" but by a snow blower attachment on a huge tractor the neighbor owns, so a bit of snow STILL on the ground even on the driveway.
I made it to the corner near the house and slid, about 6 inches off the driveway, 3 tires ON the driveway which is packed ice and snow. Tried traction sand.. NOPE, tried carpet under the tires, NOPE, tried wood ash.. NOPE
So dear
WONDERFUL Joan, who is 79 this year came out and helped push! I have new tires on the back and did have over 200lbs on the back axle, I used one bag of the sand to get out of MY driveway, and the rest of that bag to get out of Joans.
Well it worked, and I learned a valuable lesson, part at the second driveway, as close to the road as possible.
So after digging the lil truck out twice, and getting home, it was all I could do to stay awake. I finally crawled into bed around 9:30.
We are having a friend over for christmas eve dinner with Joan, and then candle light service and spiked nog and noshes with a neighbor, then crawl into bed to sleep through most of tomorrow!!
I love not having family around!!! We do have to make an appearance at DH's cousins' place to say happy holidaze to them and the aunts.
