Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good evening! LO soup for supper...I added baby kale, cheese curds and tortilla chips. It was good for loft overs. My friend from Thorpe cam over today with one of her blue point Siamese kittens...so adorable! She has lessened his price to $65 because he is older (4 months) I would have really liked to have him! He was so calm here even with the dogs and the other cats! She brought me some egg cartons, repair saddle stuff and some cheese curds that I traded for fresh eggs. WHat a deal!

I have to head out and lock up...then off to bed for me. Work day tomorrow and then I need to make deviled eggs, peach Marge salad and some GF fudge to take along for Christmas Eve.
Have a great night! TerriOdarntiredagain
(PS) good luck with the eggs ODrH...if you have no luck I will have more to give you!

Hi All, JJ, I must have missed it also..

got home from the party early.. I think I ate non stop the whole time there..

talked to the BIL about his addition to his house.. Now he might wait another year to do it.. I think I am going to put a little pressure on him to get at it this summer.. Now that he has me thinking about it, LET's GO>> I am not a patient guy..after all, I have more life spent than I have coming..

I had to reprimand the pup tonight,, He put his paws onto the kitchen table.. NOT something a dog wants to do where I can see it.. I don't think he will do that again,,,for awhile.. He has been trying to suck up to me all night,, I am making him sweat..

besides that, he growled at Dora over food,, another thing not allowed,, and he knows it..
two reprimands in one night.. right about now I'll bet he thinks he can't do anything right..

tomorrow I am going to throw a tarp over Ollie and put a good heater under him.. then a trip to F&F for 5 gallons of oil ..

Annie mentioned that it would be a good time to burn the brush pile.. I think 5 gallons of drain oil should help that project along nicely..

I heard a real funny story at the party.. I can't tell it here, but if you were on my A1-joke thread, you could read it..

Hi All!

Bl4.... Hope you get your car figured out.... shaking like that could also mean something more serious.... let's hope it is just ice in the wheel! Glad you all had fun sledding!

Carol.... Hope you get your truck issue fixed.... we've been fighting with the van wiring for about 4 years!

Dr.H....Hope your Dad fights off that infection soon!

Casie.... Love the Muppet video! Great choreography!

Tom.... I would love to watch the chickens makin' that stroll through the woods on their path! Bet the other critters are jealous! Glad you got to see your DD!

CS.... Nosy Chicken! LOL

ODr.H... That door looks almost too pretty to paint! Hope it mounts well!

Yea Bigfam! Where's the story?

Well, managed to get all the kids and grand kids under one roof! Made orange glazed ham, rolls and pies... made the kids bring the sides! Felt a little bad that there wasn't much to "unwrap" but the grand kids are getting a day long trip to a water park and the kids got restaurant gift certificates. I did get a couple of "little things for the grand kids to unwrap tough. They were suppose to get more and I was suppose to get a new laptop, but DH's bonus was 1/5 of what he was told it was going to be ..... hummm. With all the extra crap he's had to deal with and all the extra "hats" he's had to wear at work this last year...I think they owe him their souls! He's been there for 20 years!
BTW.... Happy Anniversary to US!.... Yep, got married on Christmas eve!
Night All!

I cant believe that I amthe first to post this morning! WOW! Good Christmas Eve! Happy Anni Cind and DH! That is crap about the bonus...sometimes I think companies just like to dangle that over your head cause they really dont "have to" pay it I guess. A place my DH worked at did that every year...there was just that one project that lost $$$ so....he didnt stay there real long!

So just having a quick cuppa and then out to let out birdies and off to work for me. I have to check that fudge recipe too...I might need to stop at the store.
Geez ODrH--you are an Ace builder! Very nice door! You may come and make new ones for my coops (and barn) at any time! LOL! I just might be giving you a call for that butchering help too. Dont forget JJ, that is coming up sometime in January. I am hoping they are ready the first week. I have another scrapbooking weekend coming up the second weekend and I know I cant depend on the people to feed them the mash! They will be safer in the freezer for sure! Planning on making it a party! (cause we wont have had enough with New Years and Christmas ya know!)

OK--I better get moving so I can get back and cook! Have a great one today and tomorrow...that is jammie day for us. Remember DrH when you stopped over for eggs and we were all in jammies? Yup, all day long!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!!

Well we got the little truck unstuck from the snow, I drove it to the barn to feed the horses, I didn't bring my sled (I use it to put a new bale of hay on to go from the barn to the paddock, they are on opposite sides of the farm). So I carried enough flakes to feed the horses, got them taken care of so I had parked at the top of the driveway to ensure I could get out..
NOPE!! zip zero NADA!
So I figured I would be smart and drive down and get enough speed to get out the other driveway, yes it was "plowed" but by a snow blower attachment on a huge tractor the neighbor owns, so a bit of snow STILL on the ground even on the driveway.
I made it to the corner near the house and slid, about 6 inches off the driveway, 3 tires ON the driveway which is packed ice and snow. Tried traction sand.. NOPE, tried carpet under the tires, NOPE, tried wood ash.. NOPE
So dear

WONDERFUL Joan, who is 79 this year came out and helped push! I have new tires on the back and did have over 200lbs on the back axle, I used one bag of the sand to get out of MY driveway, and the rest of that bag to get out of Joans.
Well it worked, and I learned a valuable lesson, part at the second driveway, as close to the road as possible.

So after digging the lil truck out twice, and getting home, it was all I could do to stay awake. I finally crawled into bed around 9:30.

We are having a friend over for christmas eve dinner with Joan, and then candle light service and spiked nog and noshes with a neighbor, then crawl into bed to sleep through most of tomorrow!!
I love not having family around!!! We do have to make an appearance at DH's cousins' place to say happy holidaze to them and the aunts.

Roosters - $5 (Oregon)

Date: 2012-12-24, 6:49AM CST

Got a few extra roosters in our chicks from the fall. Two nice Rhode Island Red roosters that are a little over 12 weeks old. Beautiful coloring from good blood lines at Welp hatchery. They'll protect your flock or give you nice young chicks in the spring with your hens. Also have a really nice Columbian Wyandotte rooster. He's a big boy (about 20-24 weeks) and has done a great job protecting our flock this fall. Hate to see them go but don't need this many roosters. Asking $5 for each rooster. Would also sell a hen with them for $20 for the pair and $15 for each additional hen.

Beautiful boys, not aggressive, just nice birds. Will eat out of your hand if you have a good treat but still protect the flock from cats, hawks and other predators.

Well we got the car packed up last night so we'd be ready to go early in the morning. I unfortunately woke up at 3am, so decided to make banana bread before showering and heading out. Here's praying that the chickens are alive when we return!

Good Xmas Eve Morning All! Bl4 the Jeep does the same thing with snow getting in the spokes freaked me out the first time too. Took about 5 miles to figure it out. Cool pics! ODrH that's a beautiful door! If you measured once and cut twice it should fit.

Bigz felt sorry for Ten. What a blow out! WCc it's a regulator that you sparked. Used to be on most makes really handy for a remote starter. Just cross the poles with a screwdriver. Glad you got everything unstuck. CasD luv that muppet one too! Cindy sounds like a very fine xmas to me! Dad is improving in both health and spirits. My sis took him Tshirts but no pants, so no great escape this time. L is slowly improving too. Thanks to all for the well wishes! Well I'm behind on chores so gotta go. Have a happy one!
