Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Evening All...great pics everyone, thanks for sharing them.

Busy day kinda today with the monthly meeting for camp.

Nope bl4, the new thread isn't started yet. terri was wondering who wanted to get it started. Sorry if I was confusing.

I have the new tom ski carnival ride set up. i didn't have a whole gal of windshield wash but enough for a couple inches. i'll pick up a gal tomorrow. hope i have few that went for a ride in the morning. Just overnight last night, they started knawing on the new replacement parts.

In regards to feed....the feed mills usually save you a few bucks. I buy a higher % layer than the fleet feed and about 1/3 less cost per bag. My last stop at the feed mill I bought 3 bags of layer and 100lbs of corn for the same price at fleet, i would of only received 3 bags of feed and no corn for the same amount of money. I like the free corn.

Hi All!

Tom... that's a neat little gismo for the mouse problem.

Dr.H... You must be doing a good job with L if she felt that good!

ODr.H.... Love the pics of the kids and "Kevins" That one with Tyler and the chicks looking back is so cute! Wonder if you cropped that one if you could make a prize winner out of it?

CC.... Are those Jack's kids? Love the stripes on them! And why are they so far north?

Congrats on all the hatches!

Got woke up this morning with a call from my son's friend. I've been helping him learn how to raise chickens. He got a few chicks from me this spring and a couple of roosters. (He's lost 2 other ones defending the flock.... good boys) He's hoping 2 at a time will do better, so far, so good. Anyway he said he went to go feed and his hen who "had been staying warm on the nest" bit him! Then she got off the nest just enough to see about 8 little ones! These are the first he's hatched and he was so happy. So I answered all his questions and we'll see how it goes.

Went to Manards... they have 50# bag of BOSS for $19.95!!! Time to stock up!

Guess that's it .... Night All!

Good Winter Morning Everyone! ODrH Nice set up for children viewing Kevins!

Tom I swear that once you've caught a mouse in a snap trap they can smell death on it. Have never caught one after the first time. And dang it wouldn't you know it but all my cans are crushed, guess I'll have empty one or maybe more in case I mess up the first couple. Cindy and others yup been makin L do 10 laps 3x a day after meals. Sometimes I mess with her on the count. She's learned to it by herself. I'm so proud! "bit him"

delisha hope your hatch continues to go well! Very mean to post pics though. CD I wrote down your post # I don't have any extras but Donny might want to part with a few. He's been saying that he's going to sell everything. Says he's all done. I told him once he heals up he might change his mind.

We'll see. Told the kittens yesterday that the pound is having a 2fer deal. Take in 2 cats and get 1 for free. They must have figured it out because they went right back to rearranging the house and doing bad naughty things. Oldest DD the one becoming a Vet in May is having a B'day soon and said she's been working with horses and that she doesn't like them. I told her that I guess I'll have to take the pony back that I got her. She said a nice card would work.

I called my manager at the auto parts store I work at, since the "incident" things have been quiet, he called me just after to X-mas to get my side.
He then said he had to "ponder" the situation and would call me this week...
Well it is Friday and I didn't get a call so I called him, he hemmed and hawwed... but then said he is unsure of the store atmosphere and me, and then
asked if I wanted to work at another store, I said yes I would, he said okay he would get back to me on Mon or Tues.
Well 10 mins later he calls me back and said he hates to lose me and wants a meeting with me, him and one of the @$$ hats that did the deed.. kinda makes
me wonder about the other one....
I said yes, and then called my DH and begged, "PLS come with me!!" he arranged the afternoon off so he can be there.

So I am on my way home from feeding as I wanted to change and meet up with KristiP this afternoon, and there is a strange car parked along side the road in front of my
house, and a person standing in my yard....
I pull off on a side road that my land lord lives on and turned around and watched him/her from about a 1/4 mile away. I then backed up the road over a hill and was going to leave but decided to drive up the hill again and watch a bit more...
I am not sure WHY the person was there, they seemed to be looking around, but never went back to their car while I watched.
I backed up the road again and went a back route back to the barn. My DH's cousin then called me and we chatted and I am SPOOKED!!
I stayed there for a little bit and then drove the back way back to my house, and pulled up again at the hill (hidden by trees) and no one was there.
I checked for cards, or some sort of paperwork signifying a visit of some sort.. and NOPE.
So now I am paranoid, scared, tense due to this meeting and some creepy stalker person walking around my house.
I just want a nice boring life, with a nice boring job.
sigh.. I'll let you all know how this meeting goes.

CC.... Are those Jack's kids? Love the stripes on them! And why are they so far north?
Those are Moose's grandbabies, actually. The buff one might be Moose's son. That would be the first boy he's ever fathered. Yeah, he's a keeper.
love.gif
Moose, that is.
Jack is the tiny old guy that looks like Terri's Tommy.
They are up north because I have a friend up there who has wanted chickens for a long time, so I decided to help her out. Her hubby finally gave in & said she could have some.
wink.png
The timing was perfect because I had the most determined broody that just would not give up on wanting to be a mom.

Carol, were they looking around near your house, or did they stay closer to the road?
Maybe they hit something & went to look to see if they could find it? An injured animal maybe?
If it'll make you feel better, call your local police dept. and report it so at least they'll have a written record of it in case something were to happen.
Good luck! Scary stuff indeed.

Cute chicks, Del! I never tire of seeing fluffy butts.

Don't give up on your shipped ones yet. Being shipped in the cold can delay them in developing, as can using older eggs. I set 7 lav eggs from my birds, all of which were less than a week old, except one, which was about 10 days old. They all hatched on time except for the old one, which did hatch a few days later. I couldn't tell you which one she is now, so she must have developed fine after hatch.
hu.gif
Thank you so much for that advise! 4 additional days for shipped eggs. It was an experience for sure.
I stuck it out. The last egg hatched this morning!!
I have 6 HRIR and 7 barnyard.

I can finally sleep.
