Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

BabyLady: What size of SW tank do you hav? I have a biocube and am struggling with the hair algae in there. Its too small to get a tang to take care of it and not sure what else to do other than continue to hand pick it off?

CasieD - if you need someone to fill a minimum order, I will take how many ever of Iowa Blue chicks to add to the variety here, if they have them available.

I checked their site and the Iowa Blues are sold out through 5/7/13. Would you want to wait till after that for them?

Hey all ,
Man my terrible luck is persisting into the new year, now I have to have a funeral for 1 of my chickens, as well as attend my uncles tomorrow, my beautiful little Delaware pullet from Jim last summer, was fine at 7;30 I go out to feed the horses at 12;30 and there she is dead on the floor half under the ladder, not sure what happened, she didn't appear sick at all yesterday or this am, just the small cut on her side from the roosters spur, that was healing very well on its own. no mites, nothing I could see that would cause her death..... and I was so looking forward to hatching some babies from her this year, now I'm back to last years pickings with my Roo, and his 2 sisters for my Dels, and I love the breed, such nice dark egg layers, 5 or 6 eggs a week, friendly, large enough for butchering, even my Del/.BR cross roos, we butchered last fall at Jims were very good size at 16 weeks, they barely fit in the cone Jim uses............. :hit :hit :hit ............... so very upset and of course she was one of my favorites, called her peanut as nick name because she never did fill out yet, small next to my 2 other hens and I was so worried about that pair of Eagles in my cottonwood this morning, I ran out there screaming bloody murder get outa here you big beasts, leave my chickens alone !!!!!!!!! an adult female and a young one no color yet so less that 2 years old......... I don't mind them around to eat all my rabbits, but they best stay away from my chickens..... ohhhhhhhhh I hate it when I loose a chicken, had the same thing happen to one of the roosters this summer, just dead no apparent reason........ makes me so sad.........and I can't even bury her the ground is frozen solid, my fire pit is full and its way to darn windy here to even consider starting it...... its blowing like a mad man out there today.

What rotten luck I have guess I will see if sandhill has Delawares. will let ya know what I want then Pm your addy so I can send you a check.......... ok
hHow many of us are helping out your order? so anyway thats all the sad news I have for now, be back in the evening all ..........Kim

OK CassieD.. question what breeds are you ordering? , are any a wait? 2 of mine are out till 4/16 and 4 /30 so not sure what to do on those and of course the dels are 1 that is sold out so are the BCM, let me know and we will decide if I need to see about something else, I really don't care if they are late I don't start hatching till early March anyway usually set my first batch March 1st.... and continue till about early May, last year I set a batch to hatch in June for the kids, and they are all fine and laying so could go out at least that far.......... no later though I was really worried they would not lay b4 spring cuz they were set late, but they did......... Kim

Hmm, probably not, that's getting pretty late. Not sure if I'll still be doing more chicks by then, myself. Would also hate to have to make you wait that long for what you are after.

I would take up to 8 Exchequer Leghorns for the layer pen, if you need the numbers. Don't have any white egg layers yet and these look cool. :)

Can paypal you the money/meet you somewhere when they arrive if you want.

Otherwise if it's too much hassle, I'm good with what I have. Just trying to help out. :)

I'm looking at ordering 4 Partridge Penedescenca and 4 Blue Wheaten Marans, right now they are both available with no waiting listed. I'd rather get them as soon as they can ship them.

Kim, you mentioned Welsummers, those don't have a wait right now neither do the Silver Laced Wyandottes if you are interested in those.

The Exchequer Leghorns are available right now Hurley. I think we could figure out someplace to meet about half way when the time comes .

Ok will go with a no wait birds, set my order
2 silver penciled Wyanddottes, at 5.00 each so 10.00
5 NewHampshire are 4.00 each so thats 20.00
and 3 blue Wheaten Marans
total I owe ya too cuz these guys are 7 each, and 21.00 plus the shipping.....
then send me your addy so I can send out a check, I think it best if we order soon, cuz they seem to have a wait for many breeds already.........Kim
Total birds 4 me would be 10....and if Hurely takes 7 that would make your 25.......
