Checked on the girls this morning and they were still alive! It's definitely cold in the coop but I guess they're using body heat. I haven't been opening the doors so the heat stays in there.
I had to take the van into the shop today.....no heat, hole in the muffler, and a few others that I figured I'd best get checked out.

Ok...everyone had tips for heather with pooping puppy... My pup has been doing good and just peed in the kitchen with no warning.grrrr
Chickens are doing good. Wsh they laid a little more, but it is cold and I get it...

Hi again--my birthday present finally arrived today! Here it is...well, here it isnt. The upload didnt go in order so first we see the female turkey WITH a beard. Ahe was very shy and I couldnt get in front of her but I think you can see it if you look carefully.



It is the other side of her that is ripped up a bit. But she is doing well.
Next is the picture of some of the "snow" I made today with the water mist. This is the top of the pit where I store the hose in the winter.



Here is the cream of broccoli soup that I made for dinner. I had to adapt a recipe from a site cause it was just too boring!

FINALLY we get to the birthday present! Unfortunately it was damaged in shipping on the comb and there is a crack down to the head. It is a little wiggly too. DH thinks they will replace it and I will have TWO! This one will have to stay inside though....


So that's my news! Now I need to get out and lock up and head to bed for a looong day tomorrow!

nice roo TerriO, I think I should get rid of all of my birds and get a few like that..

one of my Del hens tipped over today.. no special reason.. just something that chickens do..Annie found it under the roost.. she put it on top of the dumpster,, I said , why did you put it there ? why didn't you throw it inside ? she said, I thought you might want to see it.. I said, why would I want to see a dead chicken ?? and that is how our conversations go on.. is it no wonder old people don't talk to each other more ??

tomorrow I am taking the big trailer and picking up two pallets of chicken feed.. I am tired of doing it weekly.. I am going to store it right on the trailer, too.. then I don't have to restack it when I get it home..

Dan, I really think you are going to miss out on a good venture.. just saying.. stir,, stir..

That's funny guys...I have 13 dead quail on top of the pen waiting to go into the dumpster...maybe I will just put them on top? TO

anyway not much news here either cold nasty windy here, though not as bad as the other day, still daMmmmmmmmm cold brrr
Chickens all went out again today they like to hang out in the covered cage and dog house I have for them in front of our solar panels on the south side, must be fairly warm on that side of the house because even my steps were covered with poop today so they spent some time on the heated concrete steps as well........... had 20 eggs today 6 frozen and cracked by noon, no eggs were laid yet at 10 am so in 2 1/2 hours they were laid and froze........... pretty darn cold.......still and that heat wave better get here I just unpacked my shorts for Sunday.......... LOL
Well Adam spent all day at the shop with his truck, while they actually fixed the dam heater he is getting to pull out for MA right now he will call before he heads out........... so a 1200 mile haul will maybe make up for the dinking around today........ but he is headed right into a snow storm from Toledo OH right in Pa, NY and almost into MA............ I was hoping they would send him south, but no such luck, so if anyone hears anything on the weather heading East please post it for me I will watch what I can get from here, but don''t know all the towns he will be traveling through, just know east, probably to Buffalo NY before he heads SE to MA........ prayers asked everyone I hate the snow storms to drive my Jeep in let alone that huge ole truck and 53 foot trailer............. arggggggggg gonna be a tense week for the both of us.......... him driving and me worrying !!!
Man can't spring just get here already.............. I want the spring of 03 back...... I was raking my lawn in February and it was 68 degree's out there.......... It would sure be a nice change since last year was yucky spring too matter of fact the last few have been late cold and crappy....
