Hope it passes quickly!! I had kids home sick all of last week here. Finally looks like we are past it know. I think ours was that norovirus though, not the flu.

Influenza is an upper respiratory infection causing high fevers, congestion, severe aches, decrease in appetite, etc. etc. etc..... 'Stomach flu' or gastroenteritis is when you get a virus that causes vomiting and/or diarrhea; it can be caused by viruses or food poisoning. The flu shot does NOT protect against any of the 'stomach flu' viruses..... just the upper respiratory ones.

I had to have this conversation with my brother this weekend. You would think by now he would know the difference growing up in a house with an RN!

Did a little shopping at Woodman's this morning; there must be a LOT of people eating sweet potatoes.... they were all out! That HUGE bin was completely empty! Since I was there I picked up some of those 'gourmet' fresh mushroom packets and made mushroom soup tonight for the DH.

Pretty pooped out, spent most of the day on my feet. Tomorrow I get to help wrangle 5th graders all day...... maybe we will get close to a Starbucks......

Evening all
Love them peacocks Jim, and I wish we were neighbors, sure coulda used Ollies and your help this am, that snow was terrible.....

Judge I agree with Jim, I think it read so high because it was moved up closer to the heat, my little mini Incubator, had the temp just above the eggs too and the first couple days I also used a small round metal therm. and the reading was the same degrees off, but most of my eggs hatched fine except of course the quitters, or clears......

So far so good here this winter haven't had any viruses, or flu...... lets hope it stays that way, we are usually lucky and didn't have any of them out here for 10 years then my grandson started coming every week for babisitting while mom and dad worked, well that very fall we had the flu twice even 2 months apart....... and even though we smoke we have never had influenza... most we ever get is usually a cold and couple days worth of Vitamin A and C and its gone.

Good grief do those sales ppl never get tired of being hung up on ........... now they are trying toi sell me and emergency medical system, because supposedly the police and fire dept.s aren't doing there job in timely fashion........... whats new, they are always sitting at Kwik Trip eating donuts and drinking coffee, so of course they have to pee before an emergency call.......takes an extra 10 minutes ya know... LOL
what will they come up with next.

So anyway I was hoping hubby was gonna be home today, but nope he's sitting with that load in Menominee falls waiting to be unloaded, he's out of hours anyway, and they won't unload him till 4 am, then he has to go to Waukesha, and get a load of paper to take to Neenah, then maybe he will get a break, he's been out since last Sunday, and I don't mean yesterday !!! arggggggg I miss him.
well at least he is getting some miles, and short haul pay in between.......... So I have at least 1 rat that ate the poison, gonna have to go hunting, It ran out when I fed the chickens at 5pm, squeeking its head off, so I hope I get it before it dies under something............ well thats all for now folks company is coming over to use the washing machine, hers isn't big enough to wash a quilt........ later all.............Kim

Fellow Wisconsinites, Can you show me pics of your coops? Looking for ideas for ours. I have looked at the different coops on this site, but would like more specifically what others in WI do. What do you do for a run? Has anyone ever built their run out of PVC? How does it hold up?

Thanks much!

I was thinkin= If I ever get lonely, all I have to do is come here say I live near Wausau and am looking for some chicks, and whaa-Laah Instant Monkey pile on me.

I think it is great so may want to help anyone who asks.
I think each & every one of us came here either looking for help at one point, or was willing to help someone else. Then as we made friends along the way, we either stayed or knew where to come back to.

Hi there

- Our coop is a 10ft x 5ft coop and roosting area with an 18ft x 5ft run underneath. It has three nesting boxes in each of the bump outs. There are doors in the back to reach the coop area and pullout drawers for cleaning. Good Luck with your coop!
