New Girls In The Flock!

I picked up a couple of Light Brahmas today in Waupaca - Cookie & Cupcake!
Pretty gilrls!

on an other note. I like high lighter for marking eggs seems less poisonous than sharpie

and...

Unkadan- I like Marshmallows for baiting coons. I have caught coons on an empty trap because the night before she came and stole the marshmallow and was back looking for more.

Quote: I write the date that the egg goes into lock down.. then I have it all figured out as soon as they go into the bator..

my problem is paper work record keeping.. I like to keep the dates written down in order, but then along comes a goose egg and it does not fit into the line up in chronological order..

I guess I could go back to doing it on the computer, then I can insert a line where it belongs if I have to..
this is how it would look:
4-7 Pang 43 chicken
4-7 Jim 13 guinea

I took Dora in to the vet.. I was glad she waited to puke until she got out of the car and into the office.. notice I said "was glad".. because she puked in the car on the way home.. It looked and smelled like raw venison.. I thought they had that carcass all cleaned up weeks ago..
IDK where it is, or I would go get it and throw it away in the dumpster..

nobody has answered my question about what preds geese keep away..

you're welcome,
just to let you know, I sell 75doz+ a month direct at the farm, I deliver a few of those to some customers in town that use for their own consumption. I plan to double my production this year and hope to stick with the same plan. Once you get involved with the state you have other considerations, more permits, insurance, inspections,,, yada yada yada,,,,,just sayin'

After reading your response and giving this some thought, I'm of the same mind set. Although . . . as long as hubby is building us a new coop, I think we'll keep that "work room" in the plan. I'm lobbying for a 25'x18' coop with removable chicken wire down the middle for flock integration and a 25'x8' work area. Now I need warm temps so he can break ground - c'mon Mother Nature

What do you use to write on the eggs. I ve got a hen setttin and the other dumb clucks keep laying in her box. need to mark the old eggs, there startin to pile up!
I use a #2 pencil,, but I think under a hen, the pencil might get rubbed off..

I am against using magic marker to write on eggs,, but something like just a dot might not do any harm.. ? or maybe crayon would be better ?

If i use a crayon, I could just put a stripe on them. maybe i should just separate her. Also now that I have one broody, several others seem to want in on it. whats the best way to stop all this moody broody nonsense! thanks for all the advice.
