Plus my two girls are a week old today!

I used to volunteer for the Brewers..this is my second year not doing it. I miss it. Go Brewers!

Ok so April Fools (probably unintended). Half of the eggs I got from delisha are hard boiled! DD12 tried to make eggs this morning and kept cracking into hard boiled eggs!

I have been thinking about adding geese. They can protect even during the night? Wasn't sure I wanted to add another species this year...

I am at 15 hatched and 5 to go.. 75% is way more than I expected from this first batch..

I think I might just order chicks from a hatchery and resell them.. first I am going to confirm the orders I have,, I really do not need to or want to butcher 100 chickens this fall..

TerriO - I've got little quailies in the hatcher at home. Looks like most hatched, just got a glimpse this am rushing out the door, but will get an inventory/photos tonight! You've got yourself some more bobwhites.

Yes, Heather, I will have plenty of orp eggs for you whenever you want them. I'm finally getting eggs! I forgot to mention it, but the girls are laying 12 to 14 eggs a day now.

David, I have a roo you can borrow.

I'm sure he'd love a little action.

Jim, are those panels at Menards the corrugated "skylight" panels for the pole buildings? They are expensive, but they are durable and very, very nice. I have 4 of them on my coop roof.

I'm still a few pages behind. Gotta get to bed soon. Have to take the ancient one to the vet in the AM to be put down.

He's been ailing, hence the lousy day, but at least he isn't an emergency case. He is still walking around and drinking lots of water, but he lost his appetite yesterday and spends almost all of his time sleeping. He is such a bag of bones already, he can't afford to not be eating. Poor guy, but he had 20 good years so at least that is something.
