Seriously he's a keeper and again so glad all is good! Needs a chicken head warmer though, just my opinion. TO never heard of banana jam don't know just seems wrong.

Yeah...banana jam...that is what I thought....I am trying it to see it DH will eat it with his PB&J sammies instead of "MY" fruit jam! I hate that he eats all my jam and when I have a hankerin' for it it is all gone.

I like jam on my toast or english muffies about twice a year....really disappointing when I dont have any! I mean, he even likes GRAPE from the store!!!
Well the kids made spaghetti instead of the chicken I took out (not quite thawed) it is GOOD! Guess I am one short of green pepper in the freezer though...tastes pretty fresh! Good think I am going to pick at our neighbor's....I hope I can get a deal. They said $1.19/lb you pick last Thursday!!! Good grief!

Well, better get on that processing! Later...and congrats Amyable!

Beautiful Cool Morning All! I love it! Picked beans for L to take to work. Guess they really like the fresh beans. Huh. L is going to call me and if she can get a half a day off we're going to go fishin.

Have to load up the boat and want to fill in the driveway's sink holes. And make some calls to see if someone wants some cuc's for baby dills. Beans are slowing down but the maters are starting to ripen. Froze 2 more bags yesterday. Thinking of dropping a tree tomorrow morning. Feel rejuvinated after yesterdays hiatus. Have a good one!

Nice sleeping weather last night! Looks to be a beautiful day today, chores, some paper work and than off to finish a unit and head to the next one

Told the kids we need to get done so that maybe the boss will give us the day off when the eggs start hatching

Moved all the pullets to the area where the turkeys had been-increased their pen size to a 10' x 12' area-of course had to make a small secure area for Mort and Blue there too! They all seem to be enjoying it! Now to clean up the area in the garage for DH!

Off to get something done!

AAHHH---what nice sleeping weather! I went back to sleep after DH left at 5. Felt soooo good not to be sweating! SO I have a big house to clean today to get ready for the new renter too H&R! We will be having red hands together! She wants the windows done in and out so I am glad it is a nice day for that!
I gave the quail new dusting sand today and it is a flyin'! I think even the finches are getting onto it. Yesterday I gave her some little earthworms that I found under the water pan outside. She sucked them down just like spaghetti! It was great to watch. Got to get some hay in for the finches...they are nest building! So fun to watch....still need a buddy for my Button though...she does love her mirror but it just isnt the same ya know?

Got a bunch of cheap wood to unload. picked it up in the bargain bin at Menard's. Nice 1x4s--29 cents each! How could I refuse? Well, stuff to do...hope ya get to fish DrH! Have a great day! Terri O

Checked on the wings on those geese today - the boys are trying to chew the tape off and their cartilage is already twisted, so I gave up on them. Their wings aren't too bad anyways. The girls both look good though - there's some improvement already, so I think I caught it just in time! And the girls are young enough I think they'll end up being pretty tame after all. They still have lots of baby down on their backs and on their little butts. The younger one sat in my lap perfectly still for about 10 minutes today while I messed with her wings - during which time I named her "Lucy Goosey".

I tried to make this picture my new avatar picture, but it goes all blurry when I try to reduce the size that small. So I thought I'd share it here - this is actually the older of the two girls, I'm calling her "Edie":

Candled the Cochin eggs this morning, but they're only on Day 3 - if it was a duck egg, I can tell after about 24 hours in the 'bator if it's developing or not, but those little Cochin eggs are tough with their thick, cream-colored shells. I can't stand not knowing!

Gorgeous weather for the first time all month, and I'm stuck inside working all day.

clap.gif

so my DH asks me this a.m. (while we were still in bed listening to the kids fight) what I wanted to do today!? I said I wanted to sleep all day, and he said "ya with 5 kids?!, what's so special about today?" well as soon as it came out of his mouth he knew what was so special about today! Husbands are a nesence husbands are a bore, I ain't got NO use for husbands any more!
tongue.png
just kidding, I'll keep him!
lau.gif
well i still didn't get to sleep all day! but we did take the fence down that was around the ducks.... now they got FREE roam of the WHOLE yard
barnie.gif
someone is gonna have to clue me in as to how to trim wing feathers so I don't loose them. the chickens are scared of the ducks. it is too funny!

well talk later! and again congrats Amyable!!

Afternoon To All....Congrats amyable on your new people addition to the family. Nice name you picked for him.
Busy here with the harvest and canning...working on quarts of stewed tomatoes today. I agree with the nice break weather wise. The cooking onions turned out to be a wonderful. We have enough for a whole year, I'm thinkin. The walla walla however were a poor crop this year. More garden lime in their spot next year for sure. We have some, but not nearly what they should of been.

The squash is lookin great. Most are lookin huge. Wheel barrows of them prolly.

Rented the neighbors 40 again for hunting. Been seeing quite a few deer. Momma turkey here has one lone bo bo....kinda feel sad for here.

Have Fun... ~ bigzio

OOOhhh how exciting Amyable!! I give you credit for doing it at home too! What a cute guy and a very good looking family you have. Rest well while you have the help.
Anniarie- I am so pumped! I have my fingers crossed for fertility!

Blue is what I want the most, so remember you always have a home for your extras.
wink.png
I also like the names of you geese. They are really pretty.
Terri- yeah I have exams, but they are different then when your going to a campus. I do it all online so I get a exam at the end of every week.

I'll be glad this time next year, I'll be done in Sept.
Well momma has 3 out and one working on it. She got off the nest with one half out and two a day behind. Been putting the one egg back under her so that it will hatch in the warmth, the other two I gave to my other broodie so she can hatch some out. Hopefully the one makes it. I've been checking on it every hour and so far little progress. The quails are getting big too. Doubled their size so far. By the end of the week they will move outside. Well got to finish making my chicken pot pie for supper. Got tired of peeling potatoes so had to take a break. It's up!
