Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I rebanded the black orpingtons with the help of DD10. It's amazing how quickly they are growing. They still are hard to catch, but are getting used to being held and rubbed. I showed DD10 (aka Robin) how to inspect a bird for bugs, bumblefoot, and pasty butt (none of which were present) but it helps to teach them early on.
DD12 (aka Wednesday Marie) has stepped up to the plate in the epic failure of DH (Nathan)

. I had asked him to check in on the babies when he gets home every day. Does he remember? NO!!! So DD12 offered to be the one to check on them every day after school. I'm glad that we didn't have any children together. At this point in his life (37) he has serious, chronic CRS! He'd forget we had a baby! I'd have to keep it in the coop for DD12 to take care of

Welcome to all of our newbies!

Keep up the pics on all of the hatchlings!

At my meeting tonight, we were trying to plan a soccerfest and someone suggested June 2nd. I had to veto on the account that I didn't want to come home early from camping!!

I sold my 3 polish chicks today and my 4 silkies. I lost my shirt on the silkies (now now boys, it's a figure of speech!)
I'm pretty happy to see that area empty of birds. Now it will be easier to let the goats out. They would jp over fence panels and eat the chicken feed in by the silkies. SO ANNOYING. They break stuff when they do that.

So now I will be sticking with large fowl and skipping the tiny bantam thing. All chickens in one coop is easier. I also broke down and put the last 3 duck eggs in the bator. Nothing will probably come of it but I'll give it a go. I have no idea what a Cayuga/Buff cross with an Australian Spotted might look like. May be we'll see. But I hate brooding ducks. SO messy. I wanted to wait until its warmer outside, but the ducks are still missing and the eggs aren't getting any younger. (Kinda like Jim and Unk). :D
