Good morning--thanks for the pic Jim...yeah, a looong time ago it used to look like that! I was picturing you there sitting in your lawn chair, shorts and sandals(without socks) on...oh yeah, you had a nice cold beer in your hand too! "I like Dreamin' " (sing it!)

I hear ya on the house thing Judge...the kids arent my problem though...it's the dogs and cats! And the fact that I have WAY too much stuff and nowhere to go with it! These old farmhouses sure arent too much for storage. I guess when you only had a Sunday outfit and two sets of work clothes one closet was plenty for the whole family! The last thing I should be doing today is going on a road trip!

I took a look at CL yesterday and I am very glad I did! Made a new friend just down the road! He and his wife are retired and he has horses (for HIM) I contacted him because he has hay for sale. I bought it all and he kept saying, "are you sure that $2:50/bale isnt too much for grass hay?"

What a sweetheart! So he said that since I was buying that he would cut me a deal on the 100% percent alfalfa he had listed for $5/bale. I am heading over on Sunday to pick some of it up. My goats will be HAPPY! And so will the horses...the best part is that he is just on the other side of the river, so not a huge drive!

Funny that one can get so excited about HAY! He redid his barn really nice too....told me he likes to stay busy...hmmmm.....
No chickens, but he will have eggs on Sunday for sure!

Guess I better go and get something done before leaving...I wonder if DH is coming home this weekend?
Judge...are you sure you arent working on #5? That seems to be going around on this thread!

Have a good one! TerriO

TO- Know what you mean about old farmhouses. Mine is 97 years old and literally has NOOOO closets and no basement - just a root cellar where the furnace and water heater is. Good prices on the hay, too. Sounds like you found a good source. We're paying $4/bale for mixed alfalfa/grass for our goats. I know it's more other places, but it still is a chunk o' change. Could use some nice sunny days to green the grass up a little. Oh wait.....I can't see the grass yet!!!

I was going to suggest Heather too! After I read this part, I knew it was meant to be:

I'm sure the cross beak isn't a big deal for a layer as long as she can eat ok.

So here is a picture of my new Langshan Rooster.

Lisa
Please tell me you have hens to go with him and can offer eggs/chicks??

Got a PM from someone on here alerting me that a seller on Ebay was using pics of my Jaerhons to sell their eggs. Sent off a cease-and-desist email. Sure hope they take it down without it getting nasty. Not asking permission from a photog is rude, but why not use pics of your own dang birds? Unless they really suck?

I am sure yo hit the nail on the head with their birds Amy...either that or you just take better pics! They are watermarked arent they?

BTW Chicky...get in line behind me for those Langshan eggs! I knew I should have bought that trio when I saw them!

That an Americana or EE he has a nice beard.....

Hey so I finally have internet at home...
And I have to put a new float in the carbureator of my little truck, so I went on You Tube to see if I could find a vid showing how to do it...
I stumbled across one for a motorcycle, but it had a huge carb on it so I spooled it up to watch..
I just had to stop and turn off that video...

The fellow who is doing it, you can't see him, but he had an accident where he seems to have lost 2 fingers, thumb and index...
He (I think) has his two big toes as those fingers now, he has remarkable dexterity with them...
BUT with the angle of the camera, you can clearly see he has NOT, I repeat NOT cut his thumb nail in a LONG time...

Imagine seeing a thumb with the nail sticking out at a 90 degree angle....dark and discolored too.

-Poorly recreated from the gag-or-iffic image I saw... I mean his nail was looking back at him when he looked down... sharp and pointy...
