Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good morning-misquitos are out in hords-DH is outside putting together a couple grit and oyster shell feeders and has to pretty much take a bath in spray!

Our hatch is complete and we have 7 Welsummer babies!!-We have to get some pictures posted of the fuzzy butts! Our foster dog is very curious about the things that chirp in the cage and move around and their kind of curious about her too! The Irish setter on the other hand would be trying to sit in the cage with them

Okay all you salsa makers-anyone have a receipe for very mild salsa? I made a batch of med salsa from a package mix and DH and DD like it but I can't eat it

as it will cause heartburn issues-big time! It seems that with each kid I had the heartburn issue got worse!!

Enjoy the day-DS(8) comes back from his grandma's house today

it's always different when one of the kids is gone for a couple of days. DS(5) doesn't go yet maybe next year........

H&Rs I can relate to your celebration about your DS coming home. people think I'm crazy but I enjoy when my kids are all home and safe!

Oh wait, you did, you didnt post until AFTER 7! Too bad for your DH H&R! I hate spraying down with that stuff...makes me sick. I am scratchin' and itchin' this morning because of it too...had to go out this AM and look for our little dog that was out during the storm! No one knew she was out there when it hit and she must have gotten disoriented. She is 16 and mostly blind and deaf. I feel so bad...so I have been posting everywhere and calling etc. I hope someone picked her up and she didnt get into the corn...(man, it sure seems to be one thing after another with me doesnt it?) I know you guys understand...

So--some swimming hole you've got Raimnel (or maybe we should call you raiN mel!) Our yard does that too way in the back and when the kids were little they used to run and slide on their stomachs thru the water. It was hysterical...then off to the tub with them! Of course the mosquitoes were not so horrendous then. What is with them? Enough is enough...how come the chemicals killed my bees but they dont touch the skeeters? We need to make a motion that they only can bite for 2 hours in the morning and two hours in the evening...that should be PLENTY of blood for them!

Made my pear/lime preserves last night...MMMM! I think I will go and have a little bite! Later--Terri O

Early Evening to All.... My God is this heaven having a harvest like the one we are having this year ? The canners don't rest much here on the hill. The new flock is growing like mad.

I have a great new flock that I can be proud of!

Stay Safe. Have Fun.... ~ bigzio

FINALLY made pickles today!!! Only 14 jars so I am thinking I will be needing to make a few more since my 'brood' seems to chow down an entire jar once one is opened!!!

Country style ribs, corn on the cob, watermelon tonight for dinner..... YUMMY!!!!

Chatted with FM today, the storm that nailed NL just barely hit her at the campground.....

My friend who had baby #6 2 months ago made it through the short course of the Waupaca Tri-athelon; 1/2 mile swim, 12 mile bike ride, and 2 mile run. Kudos to her for such an accomplishment!!!! Makes me think I should give it a try......

Well, another beautiful evening! Enjoy it peoples!

Am I the only one of us that got hit with the nasty weather yesterday? Power was out for 8 hours, 60+ mph winds took down two trees over the duck runs literally 2 minutes after we had gotten all the ducks safely inside....it blew in and out really quick, but it was nasty!

beckyschicks - No fertility on the Cochin eggs in the 'bator.

I'm filling out the paperwork right now to show some of them in the Portage show next month (entries are due in a little over a week!), so I don't want to trim their butts up at all - I'm going to try artificial insemination and see how it goes.

Anyways, the girls got blue ribbons on everything they entered in the fair, and spent a good 3 hours hard at work in the 4-H food stand. They had Taylor wiping down tables, so I was sure to be extra-messy!

We got some real nice wind here in Lake Mills too. One of the parts of the storm went South of us and then the next wave hit right on us. i LOVE to watch storms so it was pretty cool to me. The best part was when the humidity dropped and it was COOL! Then the wind was blowing pretty good so there were no mosquitoes either...now that was nice...then is started to pour and I had to go in

My daughter and I drove to Muskego today to see my brother and his family's new house. Pretty snazzy! Didnt hear one rooster crowing in the whole neighborhood though....got to sit on his patio and even though they are surrounded by cattails there were no skeeters. They said they dont come out until 8 or so...I wish!
So now we're home and still no Mayo...I was really hoping she would be waiting on the porch.

Waiting to see that salsa recipe BCC--sounds good!
Good night all--Terri O
