Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Man BF4, do you have to take the meds? I know my DH dropped 40lbs after he quit taking his..... and all the weight gain was from the meds he was taking (they made him sleep all the time). I know some of you know this, but my DH's insurance has us do these health assessments for the insurance... and they told me based on my BMI that I was obese: not overweight, obese. My BMI was 0.1 off from what they want for my height. I shudder to think of when they start charging insurance based on your weight. I know some companies are doing this now, thankfully it has not happened with ours yet. I am also waiting for the insurance companies to completely drop anyone who smokes.

This one size fits all cookie cutter health care/insurance will not work.

Oh yes, the DOG update! He is home now, the Vet said that he had the WORST case of ..... that he had ever seen, and if the tissue had started to rot they would have made him a girl. Right now he is wearing the CONE of SHAME and has to be kept away from his friend for a week.

Mel, as of right now I definetly have to. Going back to work and Halden's diagnosis and everything that comes with it had set me back. I did change to Wellbutrin which I can lose weight on (but very very slowly). However it wasn't working so great and the panic attacks started again. Having to work while I'm flipping out was so awful. So I had to switch back to the one that works for my head, but not great for my backside. It really really sucks.

I still don't get how you're even overweight. Oooooohhh wait, it's the boobs that did it! Get those things reduced and you'll be underweight! ;)

LOL! EXACTLY what I said! Dh said that's a no-go... I told him he could have them though. It would make my life easier! Kickboxing is a PITA with these things!!!!!

Hi everyone- let my 2 1/2 week old ducklings out today. So funny until I had to try to catch them!

Candled my incubator eggs last night. 2 chantecler eggs are doing great and I can see them moving around in there. Just under a week to go for them. The rest are either clear or quitters. Oh well- still have the eggs under the broody girls.
Took the DH to the orthopedic surgeon today for a consult on his knee. Not good. They said they have never seen a knee so bad in someone so young- 43. The would do a knee replacement if he was a little older, but hopefully there will be another option. Will find out the MRI results tomorrow. Knee replacements and farming will not go well together at all. Ugh.
Good night all

Good evening! Man--I am tired tonight! I had a meeting at (gasp!) 8AM for the gardening with kids that I "volunteered" to do. I am actually looking forward to it...just dont really love the whole planning aspect. Give me the dirt and the kids and we will go to it!

Dooner sorry to hear about the pile of feathers! Hopefully she will turn up. I usually only have that evidence when the culprit is an owl...of course there are a lot of birds here (and feathers to go along with that) so if one went missing (unless it was a favorite) I dont know if I would even realize what had happened. Today I found a hen that went into a watering can on it's side...got stuck and died. For some reason I was looking around in the shed and saw tail feathers sticking out. I pulled her out and an egg popped out of her vent! A very squishy shelled one! It was the weirdest thing...no idea how long she was in there--poor girl! That can is now hung up where it should have been in the first place.

Vickie the bash is not so structured that you couldnt just show up without an RSVP! Please, anyone who thinks they might come...just bring a dish to pass for out Saturday potluck and you will be welcomed with open arms! (we really are a friendly bunch)
Speaking of that...after my meeting today I had coffee with MXM and she is going to try and attend with her daughter and DH too. The Girlscout camp out is on Friday night but she thought they could drive up after. Good thing, Tommy really liked chilling out in Chloe's campfire chair!

I have a very old place where the asparagus used to grow...once we turned it into a pasture that pretty much took care of it! This year I am going to try and keep them out of that area until I get a few pickings. I do have a little square of it in my garden...it is spreading slowly. I hate having perenials in the veggie garden though! Now that I know JJ has so much EXTRA I will have to take a road trip! Actually asparagus is one of those things that might not taste so good if you have it all year...kind of like corn on the cob and fresh June strawberries!

TOmorrow I was supposed to meet a woman from Chicago to take her GL Polish roo and one of his hens. I was planning on bringing them to the bash because she said they were so tame...well, she called today and said that the Children's Zoo (or something) was taking them and that they would e able to go and see them then. So that is happy...I had already made plans with MXM to go along and then visit my Mom...so I guess we will go anyhow and go out to lunch or something. I have the day off...

I can barely keep my eyes open...perhaps I will take a catnap while waiting for the kids' Mom to get here.
Nighties! TerriO

I doubt that anything looks adorable bathing in a BOWEL!! :lau   (We have a local restaurant whose menu lists "Taco Salad in a homemade bread bowel".  I keep threatening to send it to Leno!)

You should

We have a little over 400 asparagus plants and we add 50 a year to replace some of the older plants 20 years is the lifespan.  We like a strain called " Purple Passion" from Jungs.  It is sweeter and softer than the green stuff.  It also turns green when you cook it for those with color issues with food.

If you are looking to get rid of some bringem to the bash.
I just cleared out my asparagus beds - didn't know they were there until they went to seed last fall.  I have no idea how old they are so it will be interesting to see what comes up.  This old place has some old apple trees, grapes, raspberries, mint, garlic chives, and rhubarb, too.  I'm always finding some nice surprise growing here.  Can't wait to plant the garden!

I'll take a starter apple, grapes and raspberry as well as a clump of mint (what kinds), and rhubarb if you think you can bring some to the bash.
