Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

CS, you could just come over and take your pick from my English Garden! I have a lot of native flowers (Coneflowers Black eyed Susans, etc) and I think I could get you a trumpet vine or two, and even a shrub rose.....

I can't trade for anything yet..... I just build up my favor box waiting for when I can cash in..... I think I actually owe Terri at this point....

Hi All!

Love the Pics of the chicks and ducks!

Dooner.... hope you find your hen alive. Can you trust the dog?

I hear ya on weight gain! I'm probably heaviest for my height than any of you on here!!! I've never been petite like my mom was. I got her height and my dad's bones!

Add 5 kids, menopause, stress and meds. and I'm screwed! I don't eat right either. I can't choke down food when I get up so my first meal is everyone else's supper, then I eat something between midnight and 2.

I don't snack that much either. And, with no top teeth left, I'm stuck with fairly soft things or things that break up easy to eat. Some days I would kill for a plate of raw veggies and some dip!

Well no skunk yet. Miss Broody hit her half way mark. The chickens are really digging those spinach noodles! Never a speck left! I can cut down on the feed and they are still laying well!

If anyone wants some let me know! I got grape cuttings started for the bash. I'll take any type of berries, currents and rhubarb!

Guess that's it.... Night All!

Good morning--off to Milwaukee today to visit my Mom with MXM! I have to go out nowo and get the chores done...when we get together the day just seems to fly by!
Have a good one! TErriO

(PS) BL4...you owe me? HMMM--I wonder why? (I really have no idea)

Morning everyone. Well I found where my hens have been laying lol In the same place my missing mallard is sitting. Go figure. So I fixed the coop fencing yestarday and fixed the netting overtop so now the chickens can not get out :) Maybe now I'll start getting more eggs again. I am letting the ducks free range since one is sitting in the brush and the other 2 females lay their eggs early morning before I open the coop. I tried to count the eggs under the mallard while she was off the nest and it looks like about 15ish. So we'll see what happens.

I thought this might be useful for some of you

I also went and struck a deal with the folks down the road with the Buff Orps. to get a dozen eggs for my Broodies to try sitting on.

So, anyone wanting Buff orp chicks or teens, they should be hatching before the Bash. First he has to collect a dozen without putting them in the fridge.

And speaking of found eggs.... Yesterday I found 7 eggs in my nesting box in side my breeding pen. I leave the access open for the girls to dust under when it's muddy out.

Turns out they are willing to climb and fannagle to get away from the 2 broodies buggin them for eggs to sit on.

Quiet morning around here hey??? Having a cup then going to go down to babysit the little neighbor boy (1yr old) so his mom can get a few chores done. Then I got a txt asking if I can babysit tonight !!! So inbetween I have to go to laundry mat so I have clean clothes to wear for the spay neuter clinic tomorrow in Antigo. Today I just feel like doing nothing at all.... Oh wait I did that yesterday.... standing all day at the clinic tires me out but it's a good feeling. Oh, I want to ask all of you farmers or even not farmers opinion on this. Our neighbor is going to lease out their hay fields to someone that is going to plant corn or soybeans. They wanted to know if I would want to let him do our 20acre field. So here is the scoop. He would round up all the grass and weeds, give it some lime, I guess fertilze it and them plant soybeans or corn. He would pay us $60 an acre.
He would do this for three years (don't know if he would be liming or fertilzing every year ?)
On the fourth year he would plant whatever I wanted. All I would have to do is pay for half the seed (which I would like hay)

I'm not getting any younger you know, at first we thought that would be a good way to get new hay and our field limed but I've heard that soy and corn really depletes your soil of lime and nutrients and the neighbor said probably wouldn't be any better (the lime part) then when he started. I have all kinds of weeds on my field that the extension said lime would take care of.

We have the fencing materials, but just haven't gotten to it yet but we were going to be fencing in at least half of it so I can save on buying hay 12 months out of the year. It would tie up my potential pasture for at least 4 years.
Wish this guy would have contacted us 6 years ago when I first moved here.

I'm leaning at saying no !

Any suggestions?

I think there should be a plant white elephant at the bash !!!! Everyone is going to be fighting over the ***** Par Grass and rhubarb.
