Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Is Blukote something I can get at Farm and fleet?

I have a chick 3.5 weeks old being pecked at by the other 3.  Her neck is bare and getting sore

Should be. Blukote is carried just about everywhere that has pet and/or livestock supplies.

Thanks everyone for your input !!! I knew I would get good advice from you all. When ET gets home I will read him what you all said.
I live 7 miles East of Crandon in the township of Nashville and I have horses !!!

Like I said I wish this would have beend done years ago. I really really need to get a pasture up and running for all my horses and donkeys (13 total)
My other concern is if everyone leases their land for corn or soybeans or whatever then where will us horsey people get our hay ????

It is a 20 acre parcel but there is a corner of about 3 acres or so with woods so not sure exactly how much he would use. My neighbor suggested letting him do half of the field and ET was thinking of just fencing half of the field anyway. One problem is by the time 4 yrs rolls around he will be to old to put up a fence !!

And I planned on using the field to drive my horse and cart (practicing) Don't feel comfortable on the roads up here, everyone has loose dogs that could be quite dangerous since some of them chase cars !!!!

OMG such difficult decisions. But I guess there is always next year as long as he is going to be in the neighborhood.

Off to Madison for the rest of the week. Hope the "teenager" takes good care of the "peep peeps" (this is what all the kids have been calling the chicks in the brooder) Boy they sure are an unfriendly, messy and noisy bunch.....KIDS and THE Peep Peeps!

Since Feb. I have been making a "life style change".......not a diet:) lol... I have lost 20lbs am down 2 sizes and about 8% in body fat. Last year my hubby started it out by loosing 50lbs in 10 weeks. he is an over achiever....and i dislike him for it! seemed to be super easy for him...ggrr
anyway, as a family we have cut out almost ALL wheat and grain and we are trying to eliminate ALL processed foods. We eat LOTS of veggies and lean meats. Even the kids seem to feel better, they still complain because they are used to the quick easy meals, but they will live. We still bake treats but with almond flour and coconut flour. We have also decreased the amount of dairy. We use cauliflour to make pizza crust:) It has been a change, that is for sure and reaching for something out of the box is sooooo much easier, but it just seemed to make sense to us and knowing where you food is coming from and what you are putting into your body is always a good idea. Wine and cheese will never be a thing of the past ;-) I LOVE them SO....and dark chocolate!
i wish i could do it. I really do. But with 5 kids... and none of us being thrilled with veggies, i can't imagine making it work.

im a loser...

Good afternoon! Back from Milwaukee and lunch with MXM. We had a very nice visit together.
Frenchie--it would be longer than 4 years for you to get your horses on the new pasture anyhow...after its planted you would have to wait at least a year for the plants to establish...maybe you could do a little grazing in the fall of planting year and then only a little more the following year. So you are talking at least 6 years before you could have them out there full time. It doesnt seem like enough money to me...twenty years ago we rented out 3 of our acres to the neighbor whose land butts against ours and he paid us $120. ($40 ea) He was pretty ticked when I said I didnt want to continue the arrangement! He has had corn on the 80 behind me every year since...that soil is dead for sure--a huge dust bowl all winter because he plows and lets it lie open all winter! When the guy comes to spray I stand out there with my arms crossed and watch if there is drift. One time it was windy and he saw me and high tailed it out of the field! Hard decision for sure. Maybe you could call the extension office in your area?

I am going to head out to do some raking I guess. Too much sitting today for sure.
Later--TerriO

Just think how much healthier you would all be! Just DO IT Heather...especially for Halden...no grains would really help him--so says the current research! TerriO

I sent off my duck eggs..do you send the PP?

Picks of the new BLRW

Hatching out the last of my eggs I am going to hatch for a while. I have 4 Orps out and 2 left. I think I am going to have to buy BCM because these are infertile too. Three dozen infertile eggs? weird.

but Terri... vegetables are yucky

twinkies are good
Do you have a line on real, authentic Twinkies? Because I've had to resort to Cloud Cakes. I used to eat a twin pack of "low fat" Twinkies every day. And WOW Chips, and some fat free chocolate brownie bars that just couldn't possibly be fat free because they were way too good. I weighed 115 lbs, maybe I should go back to that diet. Wait, they don't make any of that stuff any more. I can't forget the Diet Squirt, I used to drink that too.

Remember when metabolife had ephedra in it? Yeah, that stuff worked. Seriously.
