you close the lid....JUNK...he thinks it will be good air flow ................What is you opinion? ................( It is a still air)

Thanks
I always thought I must have a twin somewhere,, because i am just too good looking for one person..

what do I think ? I think your friend is in for a rude awakening.. as a good friend, you should buy him a small roll of duct tape..

It is not junk, just a pi$$ poor patent..

and you are welcome,, and may all your future hatches turn out even better..

My LG doesn't have a gap like that. I tried the whole brick under the bator to tip it instead of turning the eggs and it wouldn't hold temp. So I'm back to tipping the cartons inside. I need to be done hatching. I have way too many chicks and nobody buying. I sold 3 mixed breed pullets this morning for $2 each.

Hello Psycho peeps

Welcome to the group..sounds like you are going to have your hands full..that is what I call jumping in with both feet! Have fun and good luck!! We will need some pictures of your huge set up!

Evening all,

I had to move the chickens in the coop, They are starting to fly around and they are soooooooooooooooooooooo dusty. I have a heater in the coop and a heat lamp. I think they should be ok they are feathering out, poor girls are in the ugly stage. they are about 4 weeks old.

David-What are these? BOs and...? I have 4 week olds as well and trying to compare to others with the same breeds!

Do any of you ever have pullet chicks that do the chest bumps and biting or running at the other chicks? My EEr is doing this (sexed pullet) and i havent ever had this with any of my chicks! (EErs, girls/boys, etc) pretty funny

Angie,

I have bo's and silver laced wyandottes, all sexed pullets, we shall see. I had a slw chasing the others in the brooder so I had to move them to larger quarters. I Think they were too crowded or I have a early maturing male, or alpha female. The coop is 80 degrees right now, it will get cooler tonight but I think they will be ok.

David

I plan on trying to put mine out in the brooder area of the coop this weekend as well. Mine are pretty feathered out and there are 4 of them so they should be fine. Had them out in the sunshine today and they were so warm they were starting to pant!

I have 3EEs and 2SLW and 7Marans cukoo and white all together outside in my new pvc playpen/tractor all day is a chest bumping good time. except for the roo. He is embarrassed yet.

The thing that gets me is the seggragation by type that is the norm between bouts of bumping and feather pulling.

They are all 7 weeks old

I wouldnt worry to much. My chicks are now 4 weeks old (23 of them) and have been outside without any heat for two weeks( coops not insulated either). The only two nights I put the lamp on was when it got down in the 30's. They've been just fine.

Cute chicks..

mine all chest bump and play at who's the boss. It is part of nature. It seems the little ones are the meanest. I have 4 month olds in one coop, 1 month old's in another, adults, pullets and hatchling's in the other coop. I open doors and feed everyone outside in the mornings and they have access to each other all day long. They have areas they get go to to avoid different sizes for safety. The only ones they have a larger area where no other size can go are the hatchlings. They can go out but larger birds cant go in.(chain link)
