Good afternoon--taking a break while the kids are having a snack. THen back outside to work on more "water features!" This is SO FUN! I also found the origional pump for my contained fountain and cleaned it and it WORKS! Double bunus. The one I picked up yesterday at Menards is too weak for this one but works great for the rock one.
Awww--poor JJ! I hate to tell you but there arent any skeeters yet...you better think of another excuse!
I used to have a sign like that...I have no idea where it went! LOL--lost in the mess!

stop by any time for feeding time here in the wooley swamp. The skeeeetters are atrocious this spring. kinda miss the drought.

Now that I'm on this topic, I would highly recommend having a local woodworker doing any remodeling or furniture building you need. Here are a couple more things he has made for me:


My brother had some bar stools he didn't want so I had this table built out of ash to match. (solid wood - so I can sand and refinish it if needed)


The coffee table I had built (part of a 3 pc set). Ash (I think) and spalted maple. Also solid wood. The one handle is crooked because I put it on myself


The closet in my son's room. Instead of having those ugly folding closet door that I'm always afraid of pinching my fingers in, I had this built.


Not the best picture, but this vanity is really cool! I can't remember what he made it out of but it is also solid wood - no veneer.

Ok, I promise I'm done posting pictures for a while. Also, the white cochin cockerel I posted last night is a silkie/cochin. I put up the wrong picture! lol

good morning,  just a short note for now..

the second gosling died last night..  I figured it was going to..

I went to a Native American funeral last night..  my second one..  If you ever have a chance to go to one, do it..  Very interesting event..

Have to go see my cardiologist in a little while..  Semi Annual check up..

coffee is done,,  gonna grab a cuppa and head outside to drink it and watch the birds..

patched a couple of holes in the guinea pen..  there were 5 out ..  Annie got them back in..
My guineas do lay eggs..  

Dr H, I can meet you someplace in the middle on Sunday and collect a few crappies..

I hear you guys about not getting the boat into the water..  what the heII is it about retirement that negates fishing ??     

speaking of negates..  do you know that there is a food that turns women off from having sex ?

just caught up reading.. 48 posts.. I don't have much to say tonight..

I picked up a load of treated 2x6's for the green house foundation..

I put the bourbon red tom and his two gals on craig's list.. He has gotten so mean, it is either sell or soup.. I told Annie that I am officially finished collecting eggs from that trio of turkeys.. It took both of us to collect eggs tonight.. tough job when there are two birds trying to slay you.. I have never had a mean bird before these two.. and guess what,, in a couple of weeks, I won't have any again.. It would really really tick me off if it turns out that he is shooting blanks.. then I think he would just end up on the manure pile..

I am setting a variety of eggs tonight,, a peacock, a couple of turkeys, BR chicken and guinea..
close to 6 dozen in all, I think..

all 22's will shoot any size 22 cartridge.. the reason for the LR only is for automatic feed magazines.. the shorts will not feed without jamming .. and some semi automatics will not eject the shorts because there is not enough recoil from the shot to kick the breech open..

you are supposed to hit whatever you are shooting at with the first shot anyhow..

I own umpteen guns and view them as tools with a use. I don't understand shooting as a hobby any more than hitting nails with a hammer as a hobby.

5 calves born this morning- 4 heifers and 1 bull
The guys are finally making some headway on the fieldwork. Hopefully it stays dry for a bit longer so we can get everything worked up and planted!
